I have to give this place 5 stars, one because I go there a lot, and two- the service is awesome! I ALWAYS request Nick because he is hands down THE BEST SERVER IN TOWN! Always gives me the 5 star treatment. So I discovered this place when I was in the hospital after having given birth to my now 2 year old daughter because they were the only place who delivered waffles at 8 pm! After three days of hospital food I was craving a good waffle and they delivered! Both literally and metaphorically. So I can thank my daughter for this new love for Lester's since I had never eaten there prior. The portions are large so you won't go hungry lol and the menu caters to any and all appetites. It is reasonably priced and has a very historic feel to it so no it's not modern but definitely pays tribute to it's history with cool pictures of margate and coconut creek from decades ago, which I find super cool. Oh did I mention they're open super duper late? Now I haven't been there after hours but I'm Sure it'll beat Denny's late night any day! And I always go for the breakfast but i have tried some lunch dishes (thanks to whoever Is joining me) and they too are great. I know it sounds silly but they have the best French fries!!! Mediocre at best. Hostess was very unfriendly, I truly believe this was my first restaurant experience where the hostess walked us to the table, dropped our menus on the table and turned her back and walked away. Her demeanor was almost as if she were angry with us. Our server was nice, he took our orders quickly and the food was also out quickly. My husband asked for hot sauce and he never brought it, but that's okay..sometimes you forget. The food was decent. Nothing spectacular, but it satisfied my "breakfast for dinner" craving. The new renovation is beautiful! They serve breakfast all day which makes me happy :) & have several other menu options. My friend & I went on a Sunday after noon and our experience was great. My eggs were poached perfectly (I'm super picky about that lol) the coffee is amazing and our server was so accommodating. We've been several times. It is now our choice for breakfast or diner food. The food is plentiful and well prepared. Service has always been great. The menu is pretty extensive and everything we've gotten has been done right. Waitstaff has been friendly and very helpful with suggestions and substitutions. Love Lesters! !!! But so far, I like the one on SR84 better than the one in coconut creek. The staff is friendly but the communication is mediocre. Walked in and wasn't acknowledge until I approached the hostess. She begrudgingly took our beverage order with our waitress, that had a kind demeanor, said "sorry was sat 4tables at one time, so what can I get ya". Hmmm I understand getting over sat at one time but a simple touch base from the waitress or perhaps the hostess could of informed us that our waitress will be a bit. It sucks because I was really looking forward to this visit. Decided to come in with my grandparents. My grandmother who is in her late 80s didn't want to sit in a particular section of the restaurant due to the noise. A person running the desk of the store explained that it would take longer due to a lack of help. My grandmother asked why and the lady explained that she "felt bad that she didn't understand" meanwhile my grandmother did understand however she just was wondering why, (we didn't know that they were short staffed at the time). I also saw another older lady ask her a question and she flat out said that she was imagining her food being cold. The place is a hidden gem. Ever since my husband took me there for brunch, we've been coming here to satisfy our comfort food cravings. This place has literally every popular dish from traditional American to Greek cuisines. My favorites are grilled cheese sandwich, tuna melt and light fluffy red velvet cake. my mother and here went here at about 9pm on a Wednesday after my class was over. A young hostess sat us smack in the middle of the dining room, and there were maybe three other tables in the whole place that had diners at them. 10 MINUTES goes by and every staff member walked right by me without acknowledging my existence (my mother had gotten up to use the restroom". when she returned and realized that no one had been to the table, we decided to leave. as we were walking out, we hear the young girl who sat us go "oh yeah laurie you never went over to that table". as we walked to the car, i saw the staff members just stare out to us in the parking lot. no apology, no attempt to fix the situation, they just stood there. I haven't been here in a while but I was so impressed with how they literally stepped up their game during the times of covid. Super clean environment, socially distant from other customers , and the staff was constantly cleaning for the short while we were in there. I felt super safe! I've been a long time fan of Lester's since I ate at their original location on State Road 84. I'm not in this area often but when I am I make it a point to stop by because it's always a great experience. The last time I came in I had the matzo ball soup (so good, like my grandmother makes it!), pork chops, and chocolate pudding. All were delicious and I believe they make their puddings and pastries in house. The waitress, Mindy, was very fast and efficient and Takis the manager is always very pleasant and makes sure the customers are enjoying their food. read more

Today Wednesday March 7, we arrived at 10:30 am, the place wasn't full, as a matter of fact as we were walking in there were more than 10 people on their way out. Just finished breakfast there with my wife. Food was unacceptable. I ordered sausage and scrambled eggs, my wife ordered an omelette and we split a Belgian waffle. The eggs were quite dry, the waffle was cold and would be better described as "waffle crust." The sausage tasted off and was extremely greasy and salty, When I advised the waitress of the problems with the meal, she started by explaining to me that sausage is usually salty and greasy... I repeated that it was "inedbily so" several times until she finally got the message. She said she would take it off the bill and said nothing about the rest of the problems. Of all the diners I've been to in south Florida, this one by far was the best! The place looked like it was recently remodeled. Everything was clean and bright. The food was good. We had no complaints at our table. I ordered the grilled cheese with tomato, matzo ball soup. Delicious! The bread that came to our table was warm challah bread with butter. YUM. My boyfriend ordered a tuna melt with a side of potato salad. Also really delicious. Someone else ordered the chicken parm and wasn't totally sold on it, but if you want good Italian, you don't order it from a diner. My mom had the pork chops. She enjoyed them. My grandmother had a corned beef on rye which she said was just like in NY. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. This one my first time at the location on Coconut Creek Pkwy. It is renovated on the inside similar to the location on Atlantic Blvd by Federal Hwy, and was very clean on the inside. I forger the waitress' name but she was very personable, professional, and timely. The food was about a 3.5/5--I ordered French toast and it was dry and lukewarm. had it been soft and hot, I would have given this review a 5/5. I ordered from grubhub. Absolutely the biggest waste of $16. Fluffy omelettes? Lol more like egg bricks. I ordered the "Mexican" omelet that's only redeeming Mexican quality is flavorless salsa on top. The omelet is literally disgusting. And the "home fries" on the side are mush and have no seasoning or flavor. I added on a bagel and cream cheese that they charge .75 for the cream cheese. My bagel came with butter already on it and another side of butter. No cream cheese. NEVER AGAIN. I'll also be telling everyone I know to steer clear. This food is disgusting. I've been going to Lesters for 20 years, and while many things there are delicious, there is a little decline in the general atmosphere, and cleanliness. I'm not saying, it's filthy, but, it has a lingering odor that I find off-putting. That's the negative. The positive is that they have a huge selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Most entrees are generous and tasty. They have really good hamburgers and french fries. I know that's not a gourmet assessment, but, sometimes you just want a good burger and fries that isn't McDonalds. When I want comfort food, this is my go to place. It still does a big business, and weekends can be packed. Their prices are getting a little high, but, they have to pay bills, too. The waitresses and waiters are all professional, and very nice. Today (8/29) we called to order 2 orders of chicken fingers and fries. It was 4:15 when we called because I had to leave at 5:45. A bad storm came through around 450pm and we had still not received our food. My mother called them to ask them not to bring old food...she just wanted it hot. She was told no problem, they'd recook the order and send it out just after the rain slowed so it was fresh. I waited till 6pm and just after 6pm the food was delivered. I was already running late but she told the driver to take it back and he said it was hot and fresh. So we paid and I went to grab a box and leave to eat in the car and noticed the styrofoam box was distorted on the bottom. I opened the box and the fries were hot and soggy as was the chicken. They microwaved it. I know this because I am a kitchen manager and have been for over 10 years and no what it looks like when you not only microwave the food, but what happens to fried foods and styrofoam. This was very disappointing, aside from the fact it took almost 2 hours to receive. We've decided it best to not order from here again. Typically their food is spot on, but not during thunderstorms or peak hours. We'll gladly go elsewhere. read more
