If you see the young kid at the counter, enter the place because he's friendly, knowledgeable, and basically, not a jerk. If you wish to make a statement, don't do business here. Even more now. The service at Leslie Pool is exceptional, if I was just rating the service provided by the employees, it would be 5 stars. Always kind and full of quality information. The ability to have your pool water checked is priceless. Each employee has always explained and thoroughly helped us each summer, especially when the temperature gets up to 115 degrees. My only complaint and reason for 4 stars is that their prices are clearly higher than anywhere else. Even simple pool toys are priced way too high. Why tf does it always take forever here ???! Every worker has to be slow and go over the same thing even though they print out a paper that tells you what your pool needs. I have to admit... very disappointed today in my visit to this store (of which I have been a customer for years). The young man behind the counter, while the machine was evaluating my water... pulled his mask down, blew his nose in a Kleenex, then proceeded to grab my water bottle to continue the tests. I was appalled. With Covid 19 running amuck in our area he then wrote all over my paperwork and was shocked when I didn't want the paperwork or the bottle back. They put up plexiglass around the counter, place social distancing markers on the floor, and then pull a stunt like this?? Not a great move!! read more

I had a robotic pool sweep that died. I loved it but the repair and or purchasing a new on was prohibitive. The manager, recommended a Zodiac MX8. This will work with a suction port on the side of the pool. I am very pleased with this pool sweep. He also recommended a cannister that would catch leaves. I did not get it at this time but will be getting it in the future. In addition I needed to get a new pool filter. I was able to purchase the same kind that I had which was a Hayward W3C4030 Swim Clear. I ordered it and it was installed today. Less than 10 days after I ordered it. The old one was unsafe to use any longer because of a design. Anyway I am looking forward to my pool being tip top in just a couple of days. The new filter was installed by Leslie's pool tech Joe Imperial. He was very courteous, ready to answer any questions. Yup, very professional. I would choose to have him do any future repairs when needed! read more

I have a downright gorgeous pool, but when it comes to its upkeep and chemical composition, I'm in the dark ages. I just cannot seem to figure out what all the pretty colors in that test tube mean. Once in a blue moon (usually during the summer months when pools and spas require much more maintennce), they will hold a class and teach you how to do it yourself. read more

I have always been helped right away when I've come in. I was greeted and questions answered as well. I was in recently and bought a chemical test kit and I was also given a empty plastic bottle to take with me so I could bring a water sample from my pool to have them test more in depth at the store. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EXTREMELY HIGH PRICES!!! My story: First time above ground pool owner. Went in to the store looking for HELP, found the older male to be somewhat helpful (I thought at the time) but I was wrong. They recommended the wrong chlorine, when I brought the $43 bucket of chlorine back the OLD MEAN LADY said NO RETURNS ON CHEMICALS!!! I said even if you recommended the wrong one??? She said she's never had a problem with this chlorine bleaching the bottom of the pool, and so I read the bucket to her, it literally says on the bucket that it will bleach the bottom of the pool. And she just make a loud breath noise and turned her back on me. I would have even taken store credit. The bucket is completely sealed in factory packaging. COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS. I swear I will never go to this CRAPPY OVERPRICED STORE ever again. WORST SERVICE IN TRACY!!!! I will contact the district manager to file a complaint as well. Go to Fremont Pool Supply. Their customer service is 10X better than this place. It is unfortunate that I have to click one star. Would have been "0" stars had I had that choice. About a month ago, my wife who kept giving them a second chance bought one of those attachments that vacuums your pool when you hook up a hose. Well, it lasted about a month before the neck assembly cracked. It looked like you could just unscrew this assembly and put a new neck on. While I waited in the car, the wife went in to talk to the same guy she has been doing business with for 7 years. He was rude, would not entertain fixing the neck and suggested we pay 30% more for the same vacuum unit we bought a month ago. So, she is now upset and will never go to that store again. We are going to start giving our pool money to Fremont Pool Supply. At least they act like they want to earn your money. read more

Yesterday will be the last day I patronize this store. Their prices are too HIGH. I purchased a pool sweep bag which cost $49.99. I didn't think anything of it at the time because prices do go up. When I got home I thought I'd look on amazon. Amazon sites had Polaris bags advertised for $20 in a 2 pack! Although they're not made by Polaris I'm sure they'll do the same thing. So before you buy anything for your pool, go to amazon.com and search for your item. read more

I just got my pool re -plastered with no directions from the company who did the job. they were extremely helpful with tons of knowledge and advice. They literally walked me threw the "start up " process which is very difficult . I have been down there every day for 14 days with water samples and questions. they told me exactly what to do and how much. I should have heeded the other reviews on poor customer service, but let desperation get the better of me! I was with my boyfriend and told the gentlemen working at this store that we were new pool owners and that I had taken photos of my pool equipment, had done some research on pool maintenance, but had questions to ask. I asked the guy a few direct questions and asked him to look at the photos of my pool equipment, which would give him answers to some questions he asked. The guy kept on talking and explaining the nine essential elements of a clean pool, but not to me! He was talking to my boyfriend who had even less knowledge than I. What infuriated me the most was that this guy appeared to deliberately ignore my questions, refused to stop talking and never glanced in my direction even when I was talking to him. He behaved like a rude chauvinist who only acknowledged a male's presence. Its hit or miss with these guys. Sometimes its good service sometimes its awful. They have everything you need at 50% premium but hey they are going against home depot and osh so they have to charge more but hey if your going to pay more you have to add value and that means excellent customer services. You have to give me a reason to come in, and they only way I go in is if every other alternative is a no-go then I have no choice so I go and put up with the kurt, short, type of services get what I need and go, its like...we have secret information we will not share unless you spend money with us, well I will call your 800 number and get that secret info that is public info anyway and then still not use you...if you were nice you would earn my loyalty and my money. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE. Let's start with our first trip there. It was our first time having a pool (above ground) and we needed point terse on what chemicals we needed to get started. The older lady that helped my husband wouldn't even make eye contact and was no help what so ever. She told us we would only need this bucket of chlorine. This was false, we needed so much more. Which brings me to our second visit. We tried to bring the bucket back for a return since we didnt need it and decided to order our chemicals from someone who knew what they were talking about. When my husband went into the store to return the bucket he was told by the EXTREMELY RUDE MANAGER, named Brian, that he couldn't return it and that it states so on the back of the reciept. My husband explained to him our situation and how we were misguided and and misinformed on what we needed at a prior visit. To make a long story short my husband had some choice words with him and the MANAGER had choice words back. At one point I need in the conversation the manager said he was going to call the police on my husband. My husband told him to go ahead and call them and he would be happy to talk to them. It was somehow brought up that my husband is in law enforcement. The manager made some anti police remarks. My husband left. We contacted the district manager and will continue to do so till this situation is fixed. This store will never again get our business and I will make sure everyone knows this company employs people that are anti law enforcement. I know a large amount of people that will also take their business elsewhere. Whatever happened to customer service. The way we were treated here is mind boggling. This place is such a rip off and they have the rudest people working there. I went to get a bag for my Polaris pool sweep and they rang me up for $50! I said no thank you! I went home and bought it through Amazon for $9.59. I have given this place plenty of opportunities, but am now realizing that I have wasted so much money there with there outrages prices. Too bad I had to choose a star because I would not give them any. I should of read reviews first but it is my neighborhood store so we choose to support small businesses. Not a wise choice. We bought our pool sweep here last summer and we have had to to replace it this summer. They keeps keeping it saying they were fixing it but every time we brought it home it didn't work. It spent a total of 8 weeks there and every time I took it back they claimed to have fixed it. Mike the store manager said they did everything they could and finely gave up. I got a lemon and he wasn't willing to fight for me. I feel that they just strung us along and in the mean time my pool was green. I wonder if they pay commissions on pump replacements. The service guy went out of his way to not prime my pump, and I had to tell him to move to do it myself so he didn't let my pump run dry. He let it run dry two or three times and would not open the nozzle to prime it. One time he had his pliers in the impeller pulling on something. He seemed unwilling or unable to inform me on important issues related to pump preservation, chemicals etc. Usually when this happens it is because a conflict of interest exists between what benefits a customer verses a nice commission to the service person who sabotages equipment. I sold my house and my new home does not have a pool. In late winter when the products were on sale I had purchased a bucket of 3' Jumbo Chlorine Tabs (unopened) and a box of Power Powder Plus - pool shock (unopened) . I do try to be thrifty and enjoy saving $$. So when I tried to return the unopened products to the store on Greenway and Tatum Phoenix, AZ. I was informed they do not take chemicals back, with or without a receipt! Rather beat up verbally the clerk 'Wesley', I went home and call the corporate office. I was connected to Betty. She curtly and very rehearsed informed me that is their policy. She then went on to tell me that in the past they took chemicals back and they EXPLODED and BURNED DOWN their store. I then asked if there is a posted information about No Returns On Chemicals? She stated quickly that it is on the receipt! "There is nothing on my receipt regarding her statement!!! I had been a customer for eleven years, can guess who I won't be shopping with ever again? By the way, my new home has an in-ground spa, they require chemicals to be maintained. read more

I have shopped here and at several other pool stores. Mike is always so helpful and their advice has always been helpful. My only real complain is with a product I have bought for years, my leaf canister, basket for the pool sweep. They leaf basket on the interior would break over time & every 3 years or so I would have to buy a replacement. I considered this normal wear and tear. I have had pools for 20 years and this was the norm. Last year I bought a replacement leave canister and its interior basket ripped apart the first week, we'd had heavy winds and the basked got extra fulI so I assumed it was my fault so I bought another one ($17.00 for the part). My husband checked the basket the next time, same problem, so he went and bought another one, not knowing I had already done so. A few weeks later the same issue a broken interior basket. I really studied the basket and notice they had changed the plastic it was made from, it was flimsy and literally stretching apart and splitting open. My old baskets may have got a hair line crack but I'd never had one rip apart before. In all the years I have used this product I'd never had this issue. I complained to Mike and he did swap it out but told me he could only do it once. Well as you might guess this happened yet again- so we actually changed to a new style of leaf canister ($57.00) which I found online for slightly more than the original canister ($54.00) and though the winter and fall we had no issues so far. read more

I have tried several of their stores in the Albuquerque area recently and though the staff may know little about pools they couldn't care less about your business. If you need parts it could take weeks for them to even get you a price, then it might not be the right part. Do not buy a pool Leslie's ! Our liner did not last two months. When we bought it, we were told we had a 10 year warranty. Well, we called them and they told us they did not cover the warranty, we had to contact the manufacturer. It took them a week to give us the name of the manufacturer but said they did not have a phone number. We were never told we had to register the pool through a different company(or given any information about it. After two hours on Google, I found a phone number. They passed the buck back to Leslie's. Last month I had a bad experience with the store manager however I decided to give them another chance. My husband and I just bought a home with a swimming pool and are slowly learning on how to maintain it. We purchased a bucket of chlorine from them ($150) a week ago and after having a few issues with the pool our pool guy suggested liquid chlorine. I went back to return the item and was helped by the store manager again. Thinking this should be an easy return since I'm within the return policy and I never opened it I should be ok. Boy was I wrong. He said they don't take back chemicals and points to a sign and says it's on the receipt. He said something about the chlorine getting contaminated and they can't resell it. I said ok well I never opened it so there is no problem there. He walks over and opens it and says they aren't sealed. That's when I got upset! So you are meaning to tell me that you sold me a contaminated product because it wasn't sealed when I first purchased it? The guy couldn't respond to that. He said he had to get authorization from corporate but they were closed. I said get your district manager on the phone. So he gets on the phone and comes back and returns it. Wow wasn't that easy? You could have saved me the time and frustration! That was the last straw. I will never shop here again!!! read more
