They have a pretty awesome pool water testing system that is our perfect solution to our pool and hot tub needs. You get one of their testers for $50 a month and you get $50 a month in store credit, That doesn't expire. Freaking love it! So tired of looking at matching colors. The tester gives you a print out of what you need exactly to add to your pool or spa and in what order. Omg. Who needs a pool guy!!! No one if you get this device with the Leslie's water testing. My husband and I went to Leslie's pool supply to pick up a pool hose. There was a blonde lady "Marilee" blonde lady with a really bad attitude. She's wasn't helpful at all and was very rude. She rolled her eyes at me and ignored me while I was talking to her. Her associate, Alec was amazing. Very helpful. But she was awful. We came to Leslie's after firing our spa guy who wasn't doing his job at all (spa kept getting cloudy). The manager or owner here is SO helpful! He took our water sample and ran it through their test system and printed out the findings. He then explained everything we needed to do now and on a weekly basis. He write notes for us and even gave us a few to get us started. Now we feel confident that we are keeping our water in good shape - thank you! We are so grateful for Leslie's pool and supply! We were at the end of our inground pool and spa install in our backyard. The lights were defective and installed incorrectly by the original contractor. The original contractor did not want to do the work and said that we would have to rip up the deck to have the lights reinstalled. An overwhelming store that doesn't seem to be laid out well. Leslie's has everything you could possibly need and then some for pool supplies. Unfortunately I don't have a swimming pool, but we have a chlorinated water feature that we can use to cool off in on hot summer days. So Leslie's is our main source for chemicals and cleaning equipment. They have reasonable prices and a huge array of sizes. The store is packed to the rim with so much stuff, but the staff is readily available to point you in the right area or help you find exactly what you need for the situation. I thought Leslie's was only a swimming pool store until recently found out they have the best pool repairing technician, Eric. My swimming pool heater was messed up by a previous repairing company. A pool professional recommended Eric as the best person to repair the pool in town. After working with Eric, I am fully convinced. He has 50 years of repairing experience and know everything about repairing a swimming pool. He not only has the knowledge and skills, but also has an admirable to-do attitude. Eric answered my questions very patiently and suggested the best solution. Our swimming pool unfortunately needed a repair in the winter with snow all around the house, Eric still worked long hours for our pool, paid attention to every detail until nicely finished the whole work after 7pm, and it was all dark when he finished the day. I am so lucky to find Eric to help me, and I feel a peace of mind to know that my pool is maintained in good hands. Leslie and Eric will be a no brainer to go place whenever I will have any pool problems. read more

Ordered a jimmybench on 5/4. Website said in stock and today still says in stock. Received confirmation email with estimated delivery of 5/12 and $300 was immediately taken from my bank account. Haven't received anything since. Tried to get them for days and finally got through after holding for an hour. Customer service said they have no information, could not tell me if it shipped or if it hadn't that it would be and said they would send me an email. I am not optimistic since I had sent numerous emails. She could not have cared less about helping me or saving the sale. Jimmybench should not use them to sell their product. I cancelled order but was then told I will not get the $300 back for seven days. If I want to order elsewhere today I will be out $600 until resolved. If I could give a zero I would. read more

Leslie's has everything in stock when I need it. I run a pool for an apartment community and need to keep my pool and spa operating no matter what. The other pool companies is town do a lot of hot air blowing and try to sell you things you don't need. Because I am running a commercial pool and have 20+ years of experience I know when I am being fed a line of bunk. Leslies doesn't do that. Personalities aside, Leslies is a better bet. You will find what you need, when you need it and they will price match. read more

Not people you want to deal with. I received a quote to recharge my sand filter and install a new heater. I approved the quote and waited. They called me and told me they were on site to do the work and needed access. No warning at all. I went to the project and opened the spa and equipment room. They started work. A few hours later they wanted a check or credit card to pay for the work. They also informed me that they forgot to spec out a part so the work was $390.00 more on top of the $4,680.00. They told me they would not pay the installers unless I paid them. And that I had to pay it to the store not the billing address. The whole think sounded strange. This was the second bad experience with this company. Stay away. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER - by the Store Manager!!! Went in to exchange an unopened bucket of chlorine tablets because the sales person gave us the wrong advice the day prior. She said they don't take chemical returns or exchanges (a policy not disclosed to us during the purchase the day before) and as I showed her the unopened sealed container she asked me to wait for the store manager, Maurino Ruffino. I heard her repeat to him what I told her, that the chlorine we were advised to buy was one tablet for every 10,000 gallons per week (but the above-ground pool we bought from KMart was a 1700 gallon pool and that would be way too much chlorine). The manager approached the counter and while I started to explain my concerns, with my two young children at my side, he raised his arms and hands up in the air like it was a hold up and started yelling at me about why the chlorine we had purchased was fine and continued to yell the reasons why it was OK, the sun absorbed some of it, the kids' hair wouldn't turn green, etc. I cut him off and said "EXCUSE, ME, sir!" And he stopped and put his hands down. My children were obviously scared and my older son took my younger daughter to the corner of the store. I told Mr. Ruffino "I don't appreciate being cut off of what I was saying, being yelled at like I am dumb, and you throwing your hands up in the air, using terrible body language, ESPECIALLY in front of my children." He said, "You don't know, I have so much going on, and I'm a loud talker. I apologize." I asked if they had a smaller strength tablet and he said it's more expensive. I asked him how much and he said the cost of the bucket and I said I'd gladly pay $7 more for a product that suited our needs better and he started in again on why it was OK to use the original strength we purchased the day before. I said we were going ahead with the exchange and he walked away. The female associate also helping us, Shawn, was defensive and tried to tell me I couldn't return or exchange chemicals. That information should be disclosed with each purchase. We are an honest family and had we known that the day before, we would have thought twice about our purchase to make sure we had the right stuff. She told us she was just trying to save us some money, that the bigger chlorine tablets are cheaper. Sometimes it isn't about money, it's about making sure the product is the best for the customer. In this case, $7 more was worth it, even though the situation and the drive made it SO NOT WORTH IT. BOTTOM LINE: I have NEVER been attacked like that when I was with my children. WORST customer service EVER. I was calm and smiled and as nice as can be and even if I wasn't, I still never deserved any sort of semblance of that kind of treatment. We bought a Hot Tub from Leslies Pools and had a HORRIBLE experience The manager (Mariono) was VERY Rude and Yelled at me and my family and nothing but problems Was told one thing and got another...nothing but the run around from the store, the manager and the distrect manager But they sure wanted there money on time We purchased it in early November and did not get it up and running till January 10th We also asked a lot of questions and they could not answer them I left a LOT of mesg. for the disdrict mang - with no calls back, I also asked for upper mangment contact info and still waiting for that.... The staff is usually pretty knowledgeable but prices are high - on the other hand, they have a large selection and can order anything. Oddly, despite the fact that I've spent about $6,000-8,000 there in the past 3+ years, Mario (the store manager) is still not very friendly... To the point that I no longer do my main shopping there... Only going in an emergency. Some of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Customers make choices on their total buying experience though. read more

Obviously more expensive, but not horribly so if your just getting chemicals. If you are in need of something right away for your pool then its a convenient place to go. Replacement parts are horribly overpriced, but might be available if you need it right away. If you have time, just go online. Most of the staff is very nice and will really TRY to help you out. But I would not completely trust them with any information as sometimes its just plain wrong or could cause your pool future problems. You can get your pool water tested for free there if you buy a start-up kit, but take the information they give you with a grain of salt. Only use it to confirm your own testing. Several times I have had my water tested and the report was wrong on at least one item. I know because I am using a Taylor testing kit AND strips. The last time I had them test, I am convinced I was just straight up lied to about my FC and TC values. The probably messed up and just punched in numbers. I tested the values several times myself. I just figured why the hell not. read more

Well I'm New to the spa world and needed a new filter for my hot tub. I went in and even brought in my old filter. James was not able to cross reference the numbers on it so he eye balled one he thought was close. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend 68 bucks on a eye ball well James told me " just don't take it out of the plastic and you can return it". Never did he mention that after two weeks they will only give you store credit. But then why would he mention a policy that is that consumer unfriendly. I paid with cash. I live in golden valley and not always near kitzke and south Virginia. So it took me longer than two weeks but I never even knew they had such a lame policy or I would have made a special trip to get my 68 bucks back!!! But now I'm stuck with a 68 dollar store credit that I'm most not likely going to use because I doubt I will ever do business with Leslie pools again. I've noticed there is a pool supply place on wells I think I'll try my luck there.. so James I just want to thank you for letting me get screwed out of my 68 bucks. My advice is try a different pool supply place or buy them online which Is where I got the right filter to bad you can't give minus stars and one star is the lowest I can give I'm thinking minus 68 stars is fitting read more

A couple issues. First, I spent about an hour online learning the basics about chemical usage and basic spa care before going to this store. When I get there, I start to ask all of my beginner questions and It quickly becomes clear that I'm more familiar with some of (most) the products within the store than the person I was asking. She was very nice, but just like any corporate franchise, they hired someone that is not experienced enough to answer most basic questions. Bless her heart, but it was a job for her, not a hobby or a passion. This what happens with chain stores like Leslie's that pay $9 an hour. This would never happen at a locally owned private store, but then prices would be higher as well which I understand. Regardless, it was frustrating asking questions when the person didn't even understand how a pool blanket works to slightly warm a pool. She was very impressed to learn, from me (the beginner), why the air bubbles face down..... I knew I was not going to get any difficult questions answered at this point. Then the most negative part of the experience happened. I looked at all the thermometers and picked one out of a basket at the register since it was the best price. I get home and go to peel the sticker off it and I see that it reads "promo" on it. I get online and find some forums talking about this exact thermometer being given away free as a promo at Leslie's. I believe it was $7 or $8 when I bought it and this is unacceptable since this Leslie's store received these items as promo free items from corporate and then sold them at a market value that was not even reduced. This goes to show how this store is managed. I won't be going back. There's more expert information at my fingertips at home on Google and less little scams that involve selling items that are supposed to be giveaways. Hopefully no one else buys anything that was intended to be a free item at Leslie's. read more
