Last week Brett contacted me again to tell me they finally have the topside control panel for the entire spa.....yeah. Brett showed up early and had the bluetooth system working again. It sounds fabulous, the speakers have high end quality sound and makes the entire spa time even more relaxing. David worked with us during this entire process. I felt so sorry for him as getting the parts were out of his control. Then Brett, total gentleman and professional who explained each step he was taking to attempt to fix the issue, much thanks friend. Thanks to Benny and Jeremy who also stopped by one evening after the completed their spa deliveries for the day and worked well past dark to help. The ladies in the office who kept getting out calls for any possible updates, thank you. We couldn't be more pleased with our purchase back in July and delivery in August. David your entire staff is incredible and patient, so keep up the great job you all do and keep doing it right.

I will update again if anything ever gets finished. I bought a lovely swim spa from Spas Unlimited a couple of years ago. We have enjoyed the spa. Noticed a few issues this spring. Reached out to Esmeralda in service. Paid a Couple hundred dollar service fee. Waited over a month for a Technician to visit. He spend about 10 mins with my spa. Enough to remove filters and the top of spa. He stated he needed a compressor to blow the lines, and the spa jets seemed glued on and were not popping off easily. He left. I truly thought he was either going to get a compressor or have lunch. He never returned. I waited another week to call Esmeralda who stated that they were "waiting to see how the owner wanted to proceed with the repair". I haven't heard back in three weeks. The request for service started back in Spring. It is now almost August. Unsure of what I paid $$ for service call. Absolutely nothing was done. I've been more than patient.

**Beware of long review on why not to hirer Backyard Innovation**…read moreOn 12/20/2020 I signed a pool construction contract with Backyard Innovation Pool Company owned by Kris and Christy Macri. What I thought would be exciting 2-3 month constructions project became an expensive year long nightmare. During the first week in March they had the gas, internet and electric companies come out to survey my backyard and mark the location of lines. Excavation commenced on April 3, 2021 but was halted same day because Kris and Christy failed to properly locate the electrical line prior to excavation and a line was almost damaged by the digging. This was red flag number one. Excavation was completed on April 20, 2021 after having line re-routed. Then for the next 8 months there were multiple delays, excuses and request for more money above the contract price. Red flag number two came during the months of late April through August 2021. During May we possibly had above seasonal rain fall which delayed progress but my problem with Kris and Christy was how they prepared and managed for it. They did not properly cover the site nor continually pump out the water to keep the area dry. It led to a cave-in where the electric line was re-routed and left the re-routed line exposed. They didn't actually come out until I sent a video of frogs using my cave-in mud pond as their singing grounds throughout the night. Afterwards they came out to evaluate the dig site and pump out the water. Not much happen after this point except mid-June I met with the Kris and Christy to discuss the lack of progress and my concern for the integrity of my pool. At this point they stated it would cost me additional $12,000 to fix the cave-in but they were willing to pay half. I agreed to this because I just wanted my electric line protected, the contract did not address this explicitly and I wanted to expedite this process. They boarded up the side wall of the pool about a week later, but minimal work was done on my pool for the next month in half. I sent multiple text to Kris and Christy about the lack of work on the steel frame and plumbing. I got multiple excuses on why no crew was working on my project. Also complained that the recently fixed cave-in seemed to be worsening again along with what little steel and plumbing work that was done was now floating in water from rain. Again excuses. I was told things would move more smoothly once the gunite was poured. Red flag number three occurred on August 20, 2021 when they started pouring the gunite. What should have been an one day task turn into a 12 day project. It led to gunite on my patio roof and the end protect was poorly done with uneven walls (see pic). Red flag number four, during the September and October not much progress occurred but got multiple excuses. Though they requested more money, stating the cost of the tile and decking material had gone up due to COVID. Also they inform me, my pool equipment/pumps were still on backordered. At this time, I asked why my material and equipment hadn't already been ordered at the time I signed my contract and selected my material back in December 2020 and January 2021 which should have locked in the prices. You guess correctly more excuses and blame placed on COVID. Like an idiot, I agreed to the price increase in material because I just wanted this to be over. Mid November they started tiling my pool. I was told they would complete tiling, the plumbing (without the equipment) and electrical portion over the next week. Of course, this did not happen. Final red flag, it took 2 weeks to complete the tile. The plumbing was completed a couple days before Christmas which left by backyard and front yard a mess and the electric portion was never completed. I sent a text to Chris and Christy stating how my front and backyard was left. For a couple days I received no replies but then receive a text on December 17 from Kris that all of his crews are off till the 2nd week in January and he would have the cleanup done in the 2nd week in January. I replied it wasn't acceptable but never received a reply. I decided not to let this ruin my first Christmas with my family since the COVID pandemic and will deal with it after Christmas. The next time I got reply from Kris and Christy wasn't until January 12, 2022 after sending two text for updates after the New Year. Surprise, again they asked for more money to complete my pool. It would have been a 32.9% mark up from the contract stated price. I would like to point out the fact that on my same street another house had started building a pool in earlier November 2021 and completed it by Christmas. At this time, I reach my endpoint. I decided to fire them and involve a lawyer. A little late I know. It took me a while to find a company willing to take over the project for liability reasons. Luckily a pool renovation company was willing to take over my pool project and started work mid-March 2022. Since then, they have found

**Buyer Beware** Kris Macri and his team at Backyard Innovations built a swimming pool at my house…read morein Richmond, Texas. The project started in late 2020 and completed memorial day weekend. I never had any issues contacting Kris during the building process. Once the pool was completed, we noticed that the pool deck was cracking and there was a large discrepancy in the plaster color/shading (within 1 day of pouring plaster). We notified Kris and he said he would take care of it in the "off" season when we weren't using the pool as often to swim. He told me he would drain the pool, acid wash the plaster and then re-fill the pool in hopes this would correct the discoloration in the plaster. He was also supposed to send his crew back out to repair the areas where the deck was cracking. I have been trying to schedule a follow up with Kris since the beginning of October and he has only replied once (10/18) telling me was going to check with the plaster crew. I have followed up with calls and text messages weekly since then and never got any reply since October 18th. Per his contract the plaster and decking are covered under his warranty so the fact that he is not communicating with me is very frustrating.

They also broke the handle off another actuating valve. They are dodging phone calls for weeks now and still won't acknowledge the problems or come to fix their mistake. They made 6 trips with different parts each time, only to say at the end it was a loose wire. They came out the last time 3 hours early and I was not at the house. When I told them they would have to wait until I got to the house to look at the invoice the repairman started yelling at me "I knew you would not pay". He then went to the backyard and remove all the parts and installed back the old parts. I could not believe after 6 weeks and all these trips these guys would act like this. We have dumped hundreds of dollars in chemicals into our pool at their recommendation with seeing little to no positive results in the quality of our pool water. We eventually went elsewhere and with one of their recommended treatments, our pool was in top shape in no time. A couple weeks ago, we scheduled someone from TEXSUN pools to clean our filters. We were told that we would get a call that Friday to confirm the appointment (with no mention as to when the actual appointment was). Time passed and we never heard from them. We asked another company to come out and clean the filters since we were ghosted. Today, while I was away from home. Someone came by and said they were here to clean the filters. My husband not knowing what was going on and not able to get a hold of me, told them to proceed to the backyard to do what they needed to do. He texted me that they were here and I immediately called their customer service. I told them that it wasn't appropriate for them to show up a week late to a job with no phone call to confirm. The gentleman who was washing the filters, that were already clean, finished up right after I got home. In the meantime, I was on the phone with their customer service. They blamed it on me not answering my phone. I confirmed my number with them and they took it down incorrectly. Hence, me not getting a phone call to confirm. It was my understanding after the call with customer service that I wouldn't be getting charged since they showed up late and with no warning. When the gentleman finished putting our equipment together, he knocked on our front door expecting payment. I reluctantly paid ($129), knowing I would never do business with them again. Bottom line is you can go ANYWHERE else and get a better experience, and more knowledgeable employees. Needless to say I will never return to their location in The Woodlands.
