I invited this company out to look at my pool to see what needed to be done to it as it s 16 years old. I worked with a lovely woman named Anna to set the appointment for them to evaluate the pool. She had a great attitude and willingly played phone tag with me until we could speak and set up the inspection appointment which happened the next day. Anna even called me on the day of the appointment to give me Gerorge's most up to date time of arrival which was very accurate. George inspected my pool and told me that my plaster was a 7 of 10 and that I did not need to replace it - keep in mind that I called them to request a replacement of the plaster! George was very pleasant and I found him to be earnest &r helpful and he seems to enjoy his job and is very honest. He could have easily :"sold" me on re-doing the plaster in the pool but instead upon inspection of the pool he went to his truck and got a special sponge and taped it to a pole and showed me that I could eliminate the stains that made me think I had to replace the gunite. He also tooko the time to offer me further advice as to what I could do to repair my pool issues on my own so as to not have to make an un-needed investment in his services. WHO DOES THAT TODAY?!?! i'm writing this review and telling everyone I know that has a pool that they should have this company come out to evaluate their pool in the event that they think that they need work done because I found this company to be VERY HONEST & TRUSTWORTHY. In summary, we ordered a top of the line above ground pool, were given a cheaper model pool, and no…read moreeffort was made to get us the right pool. So now we have the wrong pool sitting in our yard that we may or may not be able to use as we need it partially buried. We can't tell if we were scammed or if this was just due to incompetence, but either way it was a terrible experience and we want to warn others. We ordered a pool from D and L in April and specifically requested the backfillable Aquasports pool because are yard has a steep slope and the pool was to be partially buried. We paid the price that we expected for the quality pool we were purchasing, as confirmed with other retailers. The pool was manufactured and then sent right to the installer, who installed the pool at the end of May. After looking into backfilling the pool, we discovered that we had received a much lower quality pool than what we ordered. We went to D and L and were told that we had the correct pool and the price was correct. After arguing back and forth, we called Aquasports who said that the price we paid was high for that low end model and specified a different pool store to contact, who we then called and confirmed pricing with. After more back and forth, the person working at D and L acknowledged that they ordered us the wrong pool and refunded us the difference in the pool costs, with the understanding that we cannot use the lower quality pool and we still wanted the right pool. He said he would let the owner, Jerry, know what the situation was and work something out. After not hearing anything for a week, we tried calling several days in a row and finally got a hold of Jerry, who claimed he had not been told about this situation. After a long phone call, Jerry said he would look into it. After another week of not hearing anything and not being able to get Jerry on the phone, we went to the store. Jerry was in and denied having spoken to us over the phone the previous week. Said he would make some phone calls that day and figure something out. After following up over the phone the next day, Jerry had said he had not heard anything back and after a little more back and forth Jerry hung up on us. Followed up a few days later and spoke to the original person who sold us the pool, they said they were waiting to hear back from the installer and Aquasports and they would get back to us. Haven't heard anything in over a week, and we're still stuck with this pool that doesn't meet our needs.

Skowoods walked us through what we needed to do, they squeezed our service in in a very timely fashion. They completed the work quickly in a quality fashion. They even arranged the water delivery for us. They then gave us a maintenance tutorial, left us with the chemicals we'd need, and set aside the tools we'd need at the shop so I could just pick them up the next day. After moving in, the owner answered and when I said I wanted to speak with him about opening my pool as the new owner with no experience and he learned my address, his first response was about existing pump problems! When I called him out on not returning the calls, he said if he could open my pool in April he would sort it all out so an appointment was made for Tuesday, 4/17 and he indicated he would call the day before to tell me the time of arrival. I didn't hear from them by 4 pm on Monday so I left a message..no show on Tuesday. Get a random message on Wednesday at 12:17 pm that they were at my house but couldn't find anything so they would schedule another day..okay, first...both my husband and I were home..no one came to the door, when I called back and said the appt. was Tuesday, he said it rained on Monday and they don't work Mondays and when I asked how would I know that?? No lie, he told me to find another service and HUNG UP ON ME!! I'm glad a small business must be doing so well that they can treat people so poorly but if I have anything to say about it, no one I know or can reach out to will ever want to use them again!
