Had an appointment to have tires rotated. When I arrived, was told they could not find the appointment. Guess the lady who took the call is unable to to make appointments. Told me they would get right on it. After an hour my car was not touched. The one and only car in a bay sat there for an hour.. Never saw an outside service tech the whole time. Went back to the counter irritated. Four people huddled around one computer for a long time - doing what? Finally serviced my car which took l 1/2 hours from when I brought it in. Hard working staff but communication is lacking. Dropped my car to get a new battery placed in but had to keep the car on while waiting to get serviced...was told "shouldn't be too long" Returned 90 minutes later to "it should be a 60-75 minute wait before we get to it." ....... read more

I headed over to Les Schwab earlier today to see if they would be willing to dig down into the console to grab my credit card that dropped down into it. A kind man (beard, glasses, blondish hair) (looked like the manager) said he'd try his best and he ended up getting it for me! So much thanks to him and Les Schwab! I had a flat tire on my Chevy Bolt and needed it repaired . My husband called around, the Les Schwab in Independence was running around 40 minutes to an hour so I headed over there . This was a Saturday morning , the repair was made in time frame promised . I might add that the staff was nice , there were a number of them working , and they hustle . Definitely recommend . Had to return with another car several days later and had good service as well . read more

Excellent service! Passing through Monmouth at night and noticed our tire was low. When we filled it, air was leaking out at the stem. In the morning, the tie was flat. A call to Les Schwab and they came out and filled the tire so we could get it to the shop where it was fixed, at no charge. Not only was our problem solved, but everyone we dealt with was very courteous and professional. We were very impressed and will continue to use this company. read more

I used Les Schwab at home in WA State for tires already, and when my 19yr old college kiddo called tbat she had a dead battery, I called the closest Schwab for help. They offered to come to her to test the battery if needed. She did get a boost and get to the shop, where Les Schwab told her it was the battery ( 6 yr old battery) and not her alternator. They called me, walked me through the battey options and took payment over the phone. She was in and out in no time. Thanks for taking care of my kiddo! read more

My trusty steed started limping on one side so I pulled in to the Les Schwab stable to have one shoe looked at. I rode in and Dr. Van came right to my rescue. What a totally nice, sweet, efficient, knowledgeable kind man. He assured me that I would be able to ride out again in 20 minutes and twenty minutes it was. I met him back at the pay counter and he gave me the diagnosis and then assured me that he treated the issue at hand and that I was able to ride right back out with assurance that all was well. There was no charge (I had money in my hand ready to pay); he said it was a mild affliction. What a guy!!!! I just wanted to kiss that adorable man (on the cheek of course). Absolute worst experience with these people. Been a Schwann customer for going on 9 years So naturally I came here and I never thought I'd regret it as much as I do. My car needed new rims due to one being bent so I called confirmed make sure the ones I saw online actually fit and they said they would for sure. I ordered them took about a week and they explicitly told me they would call that Saturday and get me in to put them on. Never called and wouldn't answer phone. Came in on Monday the next week they said sorry and it would get done but low and behold they didn't have the right lugs(how does that happen at a tire shop?) said fine just let me know and was told they would call around and order them. Took a week and finally got my car in 2hrs later I get a call saying dodge did a bad design and the hub cap won't go on due to studs being to long and asked if they could glue it...REALLY YOUR GOING TO GLUE MY NEW RIMS IM BUYING OUT RIGHT?!?!?! Finally said no put the old ones back on and keep the new ones, The manger Shawn was just a useless person to do business with When I came in less than pleased dude goes "how am I supposed to know which wheels fit every car?" NEWS FLASH THATS YOUR JOB!!!I called weeks ahead and I checked online at the same time and you still could get it right and had the audacity to suggest you glue it?!?!? So... I scheduled an alignment with Les Schwab, and they told me if I brought the car in Thursday evening, that they could get to it first thing in the morning. Come Friday at 11am, I called in to see what the hold up was, and I was told by the same person who initially booked me that that wasn't what she said. She then started making numerous excuses for herself, while I tried to simply find out when it would be ready. I caught her in a lie over the phone, but ignored it, as I simply wanted an answer as to what was actually happening to my vehicle. After an argument about what was and wasn't said, she told me it could be ready any time that same day. Very inconvenient, since they told me first it would be done in the morning, and then on the day of, they said it could be until 6pm. That's a big difference, in my opinion, and should have been clearly communicated in the first place. I arrived to pick up my car, and was met by an irate customer at the door. Evidently, I'm not the only one receiving poor customer service here... IDK about the quality of the work they did, yet, but their female cashier is completely incompetent. Oh, and they left my car unlocked and unattended in the parking lot. I do not plan to return. I will drive out of town the next time i need my tires balanced, simply due to extremely poor communication on their part. The only thing that could make the situation worse, is if the work they did turns out to be as lackluster as their customer service. read more

This Les Schwab was so good to me. I have never had a bad experience going to Les Schwab's but this one was exceptionally great! They were so kind over the phone and just as good when I went in. I couldn't find out why my car was grinding and scraping when I turned and Van one of the mechanics took a lot of time looking at my car to find what it could be. After awhile (very timely manner for what was being done even when it was really busy) he was nice enough to take me out and explain everything to me as to why my car was making the terrible noise. He did everything he could to fix the issue and reassured me that it was good and safe to drive. They did all of this at ZERO cost, as I didn't need any new parts. Overall was a good experience and I am soooo happy with my decision to take my car to them today. read more

I'm always skeptical, but the five star ratings are really true! I'm in town visiting my college son. I drove his CRV and realized his front brakes needed work. I decided to try Les Schwab. Wow, good choice! They were fast friendly and fair. They turned the rotors and even fixed the right front tire, it had a nail. I was wondering why it was leaking air. For a few months now, I've assumed I needed new tires. They're worn down and looked like there wasn't much tread left on the front tires. The man who I spoke to in person, went out and looked at my tires. I mentioned I was ready to purchase all new tires and have them put on. He stated that they look great, but they should be rotated. He told me there was no need to replace them completely yet. So I told him I'd much rather rotate them. He got to it about half an hour later and I watched him check all my tires again, rotated them and put more air in each of them. He came back and told me everything looked perfect. And the great part was the NO CHARGE. It was free! Their honesty is great. The man could've easily taken my $500 for new tires and I wouldn't have questioned it. I am so happy about my experience that I will 100% come back again for any other work my car needs. read more

I was loyal customer of the independence Les Schwab for over 30 years. Not any more. Starting a few years ago, I noted a change. Yes, they still run out to your car when you pull up, but what happens after that is not up to the old Les Schwab standard. Employees trying to sell you more than you need or want. (Tire siping and alignments to be specific) Employees trying to point out the tires and brake work wore out due to my errors and avoid warranty payout. Less respect for customers, employees openly arguing with each other. The straw that broke the camel's back was an incident with a rear drum brake service on my daughters car. After the job was done, the right rear tightened up until it destroyed the new brake shoe. The first reaction of the brake guy was to accuse my daughter of driving with the emergency brake on. They grudgingly "fixed" it. Within a month, the same thing happened again. I took it in this time. This time, I was accused of driving with the emergency brake on and treated in an unprofessional manner. Their so called "fix" was to "disable" the self adjusting mechanism. The net result was that the brakes no longer tightened up, but within a month or two, the brakes wore to the point that there was no brakes at all. At no Time did Les Schwab staff try to actually fix the issue. Their response was all defensive and trying to divert blame. I contacted Mark, the manager, and he was more concerned with defending his staff rather than a customers safety. If they would have told me that there were additional problems that would cost more money, I would have gladly paid extra to keep my daughter safe. I don't think they knew what the problem was. Their fix was to bend the brake parts until they would no longer adjust. It's shocking that any professional mechanic would do such a thing. People's lives depend on their brakes working. Ultimately, after no less than 5 unsuccessful attempts to get the Independence Les Schwab to fix the brakes properly, I took the car to Rogers automotive in Monmouth (awesome, professional, attentive service) and they inspected the brakes and told me there were mismatched brake parts that were causing the issue. They replaced all of the rear brake components and the car stops like new. We are thrilled with the results and I have peace of mind that my daughter is safe. Les Shwab has changed. The service is not what it once was. I for one, (as well as my family) will never shop there again. After 30 plus years, that's not a decision I took lightly. A few minor issues are one thing, but the general change in attitude coupled with putting my daughters life at risk by doing a brake job half way is not acceptable. read more

I have going to Les Schwab in Independence for 32 years. They still run to my car and greet me. They drive me to work if I have to leave my car. Mark the store manager is amazing! He is the kindest warm nice man! He is always happy and willing to take on any challenge. They don't pressure you or try to up sell at all but make sure that my vehicle is safe. I now live in Portland OR and still drive to Monmouth for service. I have gone here in Oregon City but much prefer Independence. Highly recommend this Les Schwab! read more

I rarely post on here any more, but I'm doing so here with the hope that the management of this branch will get their sh*t together. I've been dealing with this store for over 20 years, and, until about a year and a half ago, never had a bad experience with them. They are polite, kind, and knowledgeable. However it seems that now they can NEVER manage to schedule an appointment without either screwing up the scheduling time or forgetting to do some of the work. I'd advise anyone scheduling work at this store to put virtually everything in writing - what you want them to do, and WHEN they promise to have the work done. This isn't an issue of a job taking longer than they anticipate, which is to be expected occasionally. It's a matter of them claiming to have you scheduled and then forgetting or failing to actually schedule you. I'll keep going back because their work is excellent. I just hope they make some organizational changes to become more reliable. read more

One of my tires was low so I called to see if Les Schwab could take a look at it. They answered the phone right away and told me to head on over. They found a small nail in my tire and fixed it without charge! Everyone was very professional and it was fixed in under 20 minutes. I will forever buy my tires at Les Schwab. We got a low air alert for our truck and headed over to Les Schwab. It was 10 mins before closing and my husband and I were debating whether or not to go to Les Schwab because we didn't want to be "those customers". But we were desperate because we had to work super early in the morning the next day.. so we chance'd it. The guy at the desk said, no problem and told us to bring our truck up front. They found a sharp metal object lodged in our tire and patched it up for us... AT NO CHARGE. We tried to pay/tip him but he politely declined. My wife and I were driving from Corvallis to Vernonia to pick my son up from his camp. We were rolling through Monmouth when our tire sensor went off. We stopped got out and you could hear the air coming out. I popped the trunk to look at the spare tire. It was one of those tiny, temporary deals. That wasn't going to get us the rest of the way. So, with visions of being the only parents not to show up for camp pick-up, we hit the iPhones to look for Les Schwab. We were very relieved to see that there was one close by. We managed to drive there. We pulled in, talked to them and were on our way in 15 minutes. Friendly staff who were literally running around to help us. Zero charge. I took my car there for a small leak in my tire it was leaking 4psi over a week and a half span, and was told it was a small staple and they said they fixed it. After taking it home and not moving it till the next day come out to see the tire they just "fixed" was all the way flat! After seeing it flat we got it aired up and noticed that there was a plug in the tire and it was spewing air threw the "repair" . Took it back and they said they are not sure why they plugged it and didn't patch it but it was a new guy who had done it and told me if they can't re fix it I would have to pay for a new tire...after a hr and half come to find out the guy who plugged it didn't do it correctly and should have patched in the first place so they apparently "fixed " it again when I asked about the guy who said it was a small staple he said he wouldn't throw that guy under the bus... and when asked about corporate he wouldn't give me the information he said I can look it up online... he basically messed my tired up for a small staple when he could have patched it in the first place but instead this new guy drills a hole and plugs it! Pure incompetence and negligence and poor knowledge of actual tire repair! And terrible customer service for their mess up! The guy who "re fixed" it was Will C. read more

horrible at communicating with you and easily will forget about you. told me i did not need an appointment for a SATURDAY i was surprised so i came in right when they open (8am) knowing they will be very busy on a saturday. they said the truck isn't in till 10:30? so my car wouldn't be able to be worked on till then. why wouldn't they have mentioned that to me before? not very apologetic either.
