I purchased 4 Goodyear tires online through the DT website. A few days later I was called and told the tires were in. I took time off work and drove 30 mins to the store just to be informed that only 2 of the 4 tires had arrived. They offered 4 "equivocal" Continental tires, which I accepted because I could not take additional time off work. Two days later I had a flat. I recently had two tire installed at Discount Tire. When they were ordered,(not in stock), I requested that the date code be within the last year, meaning that the tires be no more than one year old. After I got home from the install I noticed the date codes indicated the tires were over two years old. I called Discount Tire and explained my dissatisfaction with having two year old tires installed and was told even if they ordered another pair there was no way to know how old the tires would be, and no offer of any type of reimbursement was made, basically we sold you an old tire and to bad for you. That seems to be a strange way to run a business. I will never return to discount tire. read more

First I'd like to point out pricing. I think everyone can say Les Schwab is overpriced. While Discount Tire is inexpensive, the experience is far better. Made an appointment. I arrived, spot reserved with my name. They came out, greeted me, grabbed my car, took it right in and got it done. 20-30 minutes, in and out. Enjoyed customer service, checking in, providing updates, etc. Far better than sitting inside a smelly tire waiting room, wondering when it's going to get done, where I am in the queue of cars, and paying $200-$300 more for a set of tires. Just had an object in one of my tires causing a slow leak and came to Discount Tire who said the previous night when I called them and was told they would fit me in because reservations were booked up already. Well, they took my SUV in at opening time and I was out of there within 45mins. They get my five stars and review along with the many other positive reviews. Observed they had a big team meeting with the installers and the service writers prior to opening time which really impressed me. While waiting several of the writers talked to me and really made me think this business treats their customers well. I will return for my next set of tires. Exceptional customer service!!! Jon at the wilsonville location (about an hour away from my location) provided excellent ,efficient, and quality services . He went above and beyond. After he set up a game plan for my car and the necessary repairs over the phone. He reached out to the Salem location (saving me about an extra half hour of driving with a donut on) informed them of our plans and provided a person of contact for when I arrived. When I did arrive Abrem was kind, organized ,and effective in the process of getting me back on the road. With 4 new tires, rotation and balancing after about 25 minutes from my arrival. SALEM STORE ONLY: I've been a Discount Tire customer for years, and never received such poor service at any other Discount Tire location. I've even had better service at this store. I made an appointment on Sept. 2 to get my tires rotated. (Learned my lesson after trying to get in the previous week and being told the wait without an appointment was 2-3 hours.) I arrived five minutes prior to my appointment time, and an hour later they still had not pulled my truck into the shop. It was only after I went inside and politely asked for my keys back so I could go somewhere else that they actually began working on my truck - an hour and ten minutes past my appointment time. I have used this place for all if my vehicles since 2003 when it was Americas Best. I buy sets of tires and pay the extra 60$ for their giarantee repairs. I got a flat today I have been waiting here for 5 hrs so far. I should have gone to les schwab today. They have a bay for unplanned problems for the customers. I had to watch and wait for so many sets of new tires to be sold and put on because they had an appointment. I couldnt make an appointment for a flat...To fix my flat is free. Well already paid for. Had a flat tire in Salem and the expected wait was about an hour and a half. I didn't mind waiting so I decided to pull out my laptop and do some work. 30 mins later my car was done and I was shocked. Joe had pulled my ticket from the back and let me know he was able to take care of my vehicle without impacting anyone else's wait times in the process. I was ecstatic. On top of that, I previously purchased tire insurance last time I was at Discount Tire, so the replacement was only $15 (no cost for the actual tire). Needed help with a leaking tire on a road-trip and stopped at the Salem location of Discount Tire. They helpfully diagnosed the problem as a tire that was dangerously falling apart. They didn't have a replacement at that location, so they called around and found it at their Oregon City location. They then put on our spare tire and got us safely on the way to Oregon City. Reason for low rating is the lack of confidence in workers itself. I initially called this place wanting to put on a set of tires that I am aware are not meant for the wheel I have currently on my car. Currently was on 275 45R20 and wanted to upgrade to a 295. Worker stated that it'll work out and upon drop off of my vehicle another worker claimed that the tire we initially agreed on would not work. They went as far as to measure the rim that I had to verify that it wouldn't and then said that a 285 would suffice. Later in the day tires were delivered to their shop to which I received a phone call stating that the 285 now were no longer an option due to the policy of the company. I then had the option to completely down grade to their policy and have them install the standard tire which is 245. I say all that to say this, although the workers are accommodating had they told me up front that they would not put the tire I wanted on my car and was paying for they would NEVER have had my business to begin with. Going to a different establishment for future purchases. read more

This was my first visit to Discount Tire. I'd like to start out by saying that I am very impressed with Mr. Ace Cruz, the Senior Assistant Manager. He helped me get the exact tires and wheels that I wanted. I initially placed my order on-line. There were delays in receiving the tires and wheels due the recent snow and ice storms. This was not Discount Tire's fault. The tires I wanted were either sold out or on back order from the MANY other retailers that I shopped at before making my Discount Tire purchase. Not only did Discount Tires have them, but I got them at a great price. The same was true of the wheels. These were a clearance item and I wanted them for my winter tires. Mr. Cruz was able to get them for me as well. In addition he kept me informed of the progress of the tires and wheels being shipped across the country. When I arrived at my appointment, I was told it would take about an hour to install the wheels and tires, which it did. While I was there waiting, I had the opportunity to watch all of the staff members interact with their customers both in person and on the phone. Once again, I was very impressed with excellent customer service that the staff was providing to their customers. Everyone was courteous, friendly and professional. It was obvious that they do care about their customers and that they would do anything and everything in their power to help their customers get what they wanted and needed. So, I went ahead and bought a second set of tires for our SUV at that appointment, as I found out that our current tires were running very low on tread. Normally I would have shopped around, as I had until April to find those tires. However, after receiving excellent customer service myself and watching others get the same, I decided that this Discount Tire location is my new place to buy all of my tires. Thanks again Ace! Unacceptable The price may be great, but the after care stinks. It's nearly impossible to get a rotation and balance on tires you purchase from this place & even with an appointment your looking at over an hour and a half to perform this task.
