The wait time of over 120 minutes for a simple leak check reminded me of why Les Schwab doesn't deserve my business. I pulled in at 12:30pm, right to a bay for a leak check. I sat there. And waited. And waited. "Someone will be right with you!" Waited another 5 min. Saw same guy walk back into bay and ask another guy, "Has anyone helped this guy get?" Finally get a guy over to check my tire. It's got a leak. Park it and check in inside. Here I am 90 minutes later (the lobby has 3 people including me) and my car is still parked in the lot. No timeline was given other than "We'll get right to it." Just asked about the status and of course the answer was "Oh, you're next!" That was 15 minutes ago. Spoiler Alert - I wasn't nextMeanwhile, no fewer than 4 employees standing around in the bays, BSing. I'm done with Schwabs, my biz is going to Point S and Costco from now on. Well, again in the middle of a busy day they dropped everything to help me. Low tire pressure indicator was on after my seasonal changeover. I was paranoid due to a recent flat tire and wanted immediate attention rather than be stuck again. Turns out this time the low tire pressure light turning on was due to the electronic sensors not being calibrated. Apparently they need to be calibrated every time there's a seasonal changeover on my Prius. All done within five minutes and I was on my way. Got in quickly when I had the recent flat as well and although they were out of new similar tires they found a used matching snow tire. When my battery died recently they also fixed it quickly same day. I really appreciate the free seasonal changeover when you purchase a full set of wheels/tires. I dont know why their rating isn't higher. They are reliable and respectful of their customers. read more

Just following up on my review. Someone from Bends Corporate office responded to my review where I pointed out that their company wanted to charge me something like 525.00 dollars for one tire. The same tire at Discount tire was 256.00 all in. installed fees etc. L.S. declared that they do not stock my tire as the reason for the high cost. Discount tire also does not stock the tire. Both places would need to order the tire, which arrives in about 2 to 3 days. Literally L.S. was over double the price. That is what is known as price gouging. I was a 30+ year customer. I feel very stupid for being so unaware of how much this company is duping people. Also their customer service is not what it used to be. I know they are reliable but I wish they were doing a better job with managers, trying to show more effort but the outrageous pricing will have me going to other places. Discount tire did a great job and they were less than half the cost of good ole Less Schwab. If discount tires can get tires for less so can L. S. in fact they owe their customers that. read more

I no longer live by any Les Schwab's since I moved back to California, but I was in Bend last weekend and had a need for some service and obviously wanted to find the local iconic Les Schwab, and they 100% delivered on the service that I remember. I called and they had no problem taking in my 25' RV, and once I pulled up, it was clear this is a large Les Schwab facility. Mr. BLAKELY was great in helping me over the phone, and I hunted him down once I arrived and he took the keys, serviced it a bit faster than promised, and the pricing was lower than initially thought! I had a question, so he called a technician in the back and the dude jogged into the shop and answered it before I was able to even get a coffee from their machine. I'm looking at the one-star reviews and I just did not get the same supposed lack of service, and also never did during my 15 years in Oregon prior. My fiancé and I just moved out of Bend, but had to leave one car behind at a mechanic. We came back to town for the weekend to take the car from the mechanic to Les Schwab to have one more thing done before heading back to our new home 3 hours away on Sunday. We were taking it to Les Schwab because they quoted us a better price than the other place. Upon arriving, they said that they were actually going to charge us double -- $800. No explanation, no apology. The other mechanic could no longer fit us in over the weekend. So now we have to figure out what to do with this car. Do not trust this place. First time at Les Schwab and now they have a forever customer. I got a scrap of metal stuck in one of my tires and it went flat and was afraid I was going to have to get all four replaced. Frank met us at our car when we parked and helped us get checked in. After a small wait he brought us back up and told us he was able to patch the tire and that it was going to be free! They said it would be done within an hr, but ended up being longer due to this. They told it me "got missed." Pretty frustrating for a simple tire rotation. Walked in at opening at 8am to see if they had time to swap 4 tires on my vehicle. I was told 1 hr to 1.5 hour wait time. 2.5 hours later my vehicle was done. I had things I needed to get done & sat in the waiting area with no updates on time frame. When I complained about this they didn't seem to care. I have spent thousands of dollars here & recommended them many times. I'm very disappointed in the lack of customer service & not being given an accurate time frame as I would have gone elsewhere or scheduled differently. Will not be coming back. read more

Incredible experience with this Les Schwab. I got a nail in my tire yesterday, driving 400 miles back home to the bay area tomorrow. I was in and out within 10 minutes when I arrived, told them I'd come back in a couple hours after we float the Deschutes, and the car was ready an hour in advance. I went to go pick it up and pay.....NO CHARGE for tire repair. Not only did I get same day 2 hour service, but it was free. I'll be buying tires from this company next time I need. read more

I called them and thought I would get an appointment time but the gentleman said that he would be right over and he was! He pumped up the tire free of charge so I could drive to the business. Unbelievably bad communication. I bring my car in for a pre-trip and a check on my front wheel bearings due to a noise I was hearing. Sure enough two bad front wheel bearings. I ask if they can fix and they provide a quote $6xx.xx. Wheel bearings suck to change and I'm planning for a big trip so I agree. They say the bearings will be in the next day. I agree to turn my car in then. I drop my car off at 810am and they say they'll have it done that day. All day no call no communication I only find out they've not even touched it yet by closing. I call them early the next morning to make sure everything is going to get done. They say of course. I call in the late morning and ask about status. They say it's next in line. I call a few hours later and they LIE and say it's in the bay. THEN two hours later a "manager" (lol there is no management happening there) calls me to say that the bearings never came in and now they are trying to track them down. They've had my car for two days. They said they'd have the part in on the start of the first day. Nobody has reached out to me until just now, and that was a token "we dun messed up, sorry!" Phone call. Not a call with results. They have my car and have not bothered once to call with an update. Would they be chill if this was happening to their car? I'm a professional mechanic myself and communication with your client is the third most important thing after safety and doing your actual job. They've absolutely failed. You know I went to these guys because in 30 years of owning a car I knew Les Schwab to be a good place and a place who's services I could usually not afford so I went to other lower rated places. This is NOT a Les Schwab garage, it's a sketchy little tweaker den pretending to be one. I've never been shut out like this, lied to like this, and had my car just held like this before over something as trivial as wheel bearings. I could have changed them all three times over with my own tools but I wanted to use the time better and I TRUSTED these people to do a better job than I. 0/10 communication 0/10 honesty But once they ran out and held the door open so I guess I got that going for me. I had my brakes serviced at Les Schwab in Florence on my 2014 VW Touareg and a week later they seized up and CAUGHT ON FIRE. Les Schwab Bend completely redid the work a second time. A few months later my steering wheel was violently shaking every time I would brake. I brought my car in a third time and they claimed the car was fine... There was clearly something VERY WRONG with the braking system, so I brought it to a mechanic specializing specifically in German cars. He said there was excessive runout in the rotors due to the cheap, incompatible parts that Les Schwab uses in their brake jobs. He said these parts would NEVER support the braking system in a car of that grade. Les Schwab refunded my initial brake job but refuses to take responsibility for the substandard parts that they continue to use. You are potentially putting your life at risk getting your brakes done here. read more

I had previously taken my vehicle in about a month prior to have a whole bunch of front end work done. I got my truck back, and was having some issues a few weeks later. I brought it back into Schwab to have them look at it. They told me my new issue was covered under warranty and they would fix the problem I was having, at zero cost. Unfortunately, through some miscommunication, the work they performed was not under warranty. I expressed my frustration, as my budget has been tight and I told them before hand that I only wanted work done that was covered under warranty. However, the team did the job, realized their mistake, and the Schwab name was tried and true. They stood by their work, covered the cost of the mistake, and apologized. It was a difficult situation. My personal thanks to Jason, who helped me out. I can't even tell you how much happier I was when I left. Schwab has been known for a reputation of being good on their word. This location on Franklin was my first time coming here. My appointment was at 1p and I walked in and was checked in within a minute or two. I asked how long my appt would be, and she said about an hour to an hour and a half. My car was ready in 30 min. I was able to run my errand (with a ride) and come back. First, I've been a Les Schwab customer of its Silverton, OR, store for the better part of three decades. During that time I've bought for my 1991 Mazda pickup: multiple sets of tires; batteries; and also brake jobs. Last December I brought in my truck for repair of a nail in one tire. Subsequently an employee said cracks had formed on all four 70,000 mile tread warranty tires, even though so far I've only put about 31,000 miles on those tires, thus there is lots of tread wear left. So I asked how much of 'credit' I'd get given the warranty. The reply was the "warranty had expired.' Soon, I read over the retained original purchase paperwork and related written warranty. Nothing is said about 'time expiration' of a warranty. So next I posted to the corporate office in Bend, OR, on December 21, 2022, both an explanatory cover letter as well as copies of the original purchase receipt and warranty description, stating my expectation the warranty would be honored, in the form of tread wear credit to be applied toward the purchase of a new set of tires. However, nary a response. Accordingly, I followed up with another latter to corporate dated January 10, 2023. Still no form of reply whatsoever. In the not too distant past Les Schwab was acquired by a California-based investment company. Evidently, they have adopted a posture whereby they operate at stark variance with respect to delivering superior customer service, including honoring the written word, as in demonstrable contrast to the way prior ownership conducted business? This review is reflective of three Les Schwab locations because that's how many I had to go to in order to resolve 1 simple issue. Although I've had great experiences with Les Schwab prior to this incident and the one directly prior (in California) I feel like it's necessary to share the experience - one that could have gone much worse than it did had I not caught the issue. I went to the Bend location and requested a new tire because mine had two large air bubbles and was on the verge of blowing out if not replaced. There was some miscommunication re: the replacement of the tire for some reason. In the end, they put my spare tire (not a donut tire) on the vehicle but didn't have a tire in stock for my vehicle to replace the spare. They said they would order one and would call me the following Friday (in a few days.) Within a few days there was a knocking noise coming from my vehicle, which I naively thought was an engine issue. I proceeded back to Camas, WA from Bend, OR that following Sunday to get to my auto mechanic so I wouldn't be stranded in Central OR with a vehicle int eh shop while I had appointments in WA the days following. While en route, the knocking got worse and the vehicle and steering wheel started to shake badly. I decided to double check that tire they put on (my gut was telling me) and noticed that 4 of the screws(?) /lug nuts on the tire they just put on were LOOSE and one was almost COMPLETELY off. Basically my tire was falling off. I tightened it, made it to Hood River and waited for that Les Schwab to open the next day. They said it was already loose again, tightened for me, apologized and I went on my way. I called the Bend location to let them know what happened and also inquire about the tire that I realized they never called me about. It turns out they hadn't ordered the replacement tire. They called a Vancouver Les Schwab for me who had my spare tire in stock. Later in the week I had to go to the third Les Schwab location to get a tire. As a collective, I prob waited upwards of 8 hours that week to get a tire replaced and almost lost a tire while driving my vehicle/ home (camper van) with all of my belongings in there. I've never lost a tire going 55 MPH but I don't suspect it would have been pleasant. All in all, I'm glad I caught the issue but based on this experience and the one directly prior in CA, I can't say with confidence that I'll ever go back for service. read more

Came in on Monday to have tires rotated and alignment. They said to busy . Ok can I make an appointment? No need just bring in tomorrow around 8 and we will get it done . Arrived at 8.10am . Lady at desk said we are to busy ? Let here know what i was told yesterday . She's says she will try . Hour later employee calls says it very difficult to do rotations and will cost $280 . I said I know you told me that yesterday. Employee says we still can't do it but might be able to do alignment. Now I'm pissed ! Brought my truck in from Sunriver and Ubered home ! Now with condescending tone tells me he will try to get alignment done . Call me back hour later says they don't want to do the work because of my attitude? We came in to the Bend store on third street wanting four new tires and tie rods/link arm for our Ram truck replaced. We were told that they had the tires and could get the parts needed to do the repairs on Saturday. We were there at eight am as requested. We waited two and a half hours to finally be told they had the wrong size tires and they did not have the front end parts available. After this they told us to bring it back the following Monday at eight and they would have the tires and parts to do the job. We arrived at eight and were told they would get right on it and was very sorry for the delay. Again we sat for over an hour before they actually took the truck into the shop. Bad management, bad service or just incompetence on scheduling. Or maybe all of the above. We've been Les Schwab customers since the early eighties and have never been more frustrated, annoyed and disappointed in the service the Bend Oregon Store provided. Go to any store but this one. Our son actually worked for Les Schwab in another Oregon location for over a decade, so we really like Les Schwab, just not the store on third street in Bend, Oregon. Got in first thing this morning and Seth had it fixed in 20 minutes. Then checked the other 3 tires and reset the annoying pressure alarm. No charge. Back on the road. They are courteous, efficient and know their stuff! read more

Did my research online and found the tires I wanted on the Les Schwab website. The website told me to call and get a full quote for price/availability. No problem! Every time I called they were clueless. From my experience I assume they don't actually log information into the computer. Finally Got my appointment set and they ordered the tires for next day. They said be there at 12pm for an appointment to replace tires and check alignment and brakes/rotors. Got there and dropped my car off at 11:45am and they told me 45-60 wait. I walked a short distance home and heard nothing for 90 minutes. I called to check in and they said "oh yeah it's just getting the tires changed and everything else checked out!" Waited another two hours and called again and it was magically already done and I should come get it! They didn't check in to ask or update me about brakes and alignment. My one hour estimate was almost four hours total with no updates unless i called and asked. I'd say that's poor service. read more
