Because the coffee at your hotel just won't do, one must seek out the local cafe for a strong shot of espresso. Cafes du Soleil gives a lot of attention to their coffee beans, from where they are sourced, to roasting and grinding. There were a few baked goods to choose from, and they've got tea as well if you prefer.

Oh my, once I found this beautiful coffee shop I was in my element. The coffee is simply outstanding and it's the main focus of this café. The staff is super helpful and knowledgeable about each of the different coffees on offer. It's very very small, but there are tables where you can sit, however they also have a beautiful area outside the café where you can watch the world go by. This café will be my daily go to for my morning cup of Joe. They also have in house or locally made pastries that are scrumptious.

The lightest and MOST delicious pastries, and beautifully presented, yummmm Mocachino & Hot chocolate‼

A tiny, charming, delightful morning stop, selling their own brand of beautifully packaged coffee and tea, branded coffee mugs & presses, and serving super fresh and light, DELICIOUS pastries. It's I believe a 3 generation family owned and run business and Benedicte, who told us that her mom was the owner, provided us with exceptionally warm, efficient service What a perfect way to start the day!!

Absolutely stunning place! I am visiting Quebec City for a first time , and went for a coffee to different coffee shops there. But I can definitely say that Les Cafes du Soleil is the best in town (according to me). Fresh salads & sandwiches , delicious coffee, warm people. The young lady who made me a coffee is super friendly, polite and helpful. I loved their Greek salad & salmon sandwich + flat white with soy milk is Also, they have coffee beans to buy - of course I bought some to my family! Thank you for everything!

This is the real deal for coffee. I had a flat white on a rainy day and it warmed my soul.

Wonderful coffee and pastries. Will still dream of the almond croissants and maple turnovers.

First time in Quebec City with my daughter. This was my favorite cafe. Great service and amazing coffee / desserts. Highly recommend.

The menu is not extensive - it's boards on the wall. It makes it very easy to pick or decide if this place is for you or not. We were very excited for crepes and croissants. We were able to get both. We manage to snag enough seats for the 6 of us, we pulled some tables together. It's not a large space, however, there were a couple of parties that had at least 5 people. You order at the counter and then take a seat or step to the side and wait for your name to be called. If you are sitting they will bring the food to you. We ordered a few crepes which we all loved. Nutella, Western, Traditional. Made fresh to order - the kids really enjoyed watching the gentleman make them. They were delicious and beautifully created. The Almond croissant - was flakey and delicious. I would definitely return and recommend.

We ordered- Croissant, Coffee, Crepe. We enjoyed our little snack time, with a sip of coffee and crepe, watching people outside... I like small, cute cafes instead of big corporate chain restaurants. It feels like culture and more personal. This incredibly flaky, scrumptious croissant makes the crispiest sound of 'em all. Filled with buttery goodness, Paillard's almond croissant is also not to be missed.

Picture this: soft snow falling on the cobblestone streets of Petit-Champlain, fairy lights glowing, and the warm light spilling out of this beautiful little café. I ducked in both mornings of my short trip and could have happily stayed all day. The interior is perfect Québécois charm: exposed stone walls, wooden beams, cozy lighting, and that unbeatable smell of fresh baking. First morning I ordered the pistachio latte and the quiche Florentine. I would legitimately sell my firstborn for that pistachio latte: silky, perfectly balanced, with a rich, natural pistachio flavor that no syrup could ever match. One sip and I was ruined for life. The quiche was flawless: buttery, flaky crust, creamy spinach-and-cheese filling, baked to golden perfection. Absolute breakfast heaven. I braved a full-on snowglobe blizzard the next morning just to come back. This time I paired the same life-changing pistachio latte with the almond croissant. I'd hand over my other kid for daily access to these croissants (kidding... mostly). Impossibly crisp and flaky outside, cloud-soft inside, generously stuffed with fragrant almond paste, topped with toasted almonds and powdered sugar. I ate it slowly by the window while the snow piled up on Rue Notre-Dame and honestly felt like the luckiest person alive. The baristas were friendly, the vibe warm and unhurried, and everything was flawless. If you're in Quebec City, make La Maison Smith non-negotiable (and budget time to visit at least twice). Five stars isn't enough. This place is winter-morning perfection.

We both ordered lattes and almond pastries--hands down the best coffee and pastry of the trip! The atmosphere was lovely, too.
