I went to Chop'd for the first time today and I really enjoyed my meal…read more Chop'd is a salad place and they do it well. While thy have ready made stuff like wrap soup etc for me their USP is that you can make your own salad from the tons of fresh ingredients. Start with a base - deli leaves, couscous or pasta, add upto 3 toppings or house items (4 if you don't need a bag), one main deli item like mozzarella or chorizos or roast chicken, could even double up and then add sundries and garnishing and finish it off with a choice of dressing. They have a wide variety of ingredients so the number of permutations and combination that you could try out is probably a million different. I would like to mix different things up and try out, I feel that it will never be boring unlike the other traditional pre-made salad places. The staff were helpful and guided me through the process and the meal is reasonably priced (under six quid for a standard salad). My salad has a deli leaves base with eggs, chopped onions, mixes peppers and Jalapeños. For the deli side I chose Chorizo and Roast chicken and garnished with some corriander and finished it with classic cease dressing. The salad was super tasty and all ingredients were of top notch quality and I for one is going to be a regular. 4 stars only because of the long wait time today but it will not deter me! PS: found out just now that they have an app and you can order your food online and it will be kept ready for you when you get there!

Yeah, I'm fully bought in. It's a simple concept, you either choose the "salads" of the day or just…read moregreens, choose whether you want a regular or a large, and the can add single or double portions of various premiums and dressings. I got a large crunch box and added goats cheese and chicken. For my dressing I chose the lemon pesto. I was shocked at how large it was. I mean the thing weighed like a kilo, and the portions of the premiums I chose were so generous. Nothing worse than when you pay like £4 to add chicken and they give you a paltry amount. This was the opposite. Now, quantity aside, I also found that the quality was superb. Everything was super tasty and the pesto dressing was delicious. My only recommendation is to be a bit more specific on what the "salads" are and what's in them for people with dietary restrictions but overall yeah, this place do a bang up lunch at a good price.

Such a great find - thanks to Yelp!…read more It's actually quite hard to find a good salad bar in London. So, as always I turned to my Yelp app and found this great place at Old Street. The wait is long during lunch hours as the line goes down the street...though that should be a good indication, yes ? The Salad Kitchen is in a funky little food community near Old Street with numerous places to sit, easy or to grab something from the food stalls. The Salad Kitchen has VERY limited options, both times I've been, it's only been chicken or eggplant in the salad. The cost was £5.40 - which is a very good price, I feel. There is only 2 tables, both with two chairs - so I think most people grab their salad and then head somewhere else - though I did get in (without having to pay extra) and it was fine. A great place for a great salad, for a great price on the run. I walked 20 minutes out of my way, and it was so worth it! :-)

One of the things I miss most about living in Vancouver is living next to Whole Foods. I know, I…read moreknow, we have Whole Foods in London too - but seriously, the salad bar here has nothing on the ones back in North America. But enough about Whole Foods, I'm writing a review for Chop'd! I love salad bars...Why? Well I'll be honest with you, I'm lazy and hate buying and chopping everything up to make my own salads at home to bring to work - also I always forget to bring dressing and putting it on in the when you're making it makes it soggy by the time you're eating it. Thank god for Chop'd and it being 5 minutes from work. Long lines but they go quick - the staff are great. Prices are decent (under £6), portions are HUGE, bonus - skip getting a carry bag and get an extra veg for your salad!

You can pick as many garnishes as you wish herbs and nuts and croutons and tortilla chips. There are about ten dressings to pick from the yogurt and mint is yum and so is the balsamic. They then mix it all up for you! Fabtastic! And for only £7. You can always pick a premade salad and then have small snack pots to pick from too. I have never tried any of these but they all look great! So go try and get mixing!

I don't think I'd have ever tried out Chop'd if it wasn't for the event Qype did last night. I…read moredon't work in town and honestly, salad can be mostly uninspiring. But Chop'd was different. Everything we tried was fresh and tasty and there were some really unusually fillings - lots of fancy deli stuff to choose from. Most of the salads come in under a fiver which is a bargain as the portions are huge. I might have to load mine up with a pasta of potato base, but if you're watching what you eat this is a great snacky option. And of course, if you pop down there in the next two weeks, you'll get to try out Qyper Mseasons' salad - she won the salad making competition and her salad will be on sale for everyone to try! Well worth popping into, even if it's not the first place you'd think of for lunch.

This has mainly delighted me due to trying several local salad chains to my office and missing my daily chop'd. Anyone wondering what this elusive chop'd is of which I speak? It's in essence a salad fast food chain which serves up salads made to order as you go along choosing the delights you want in your salad. Today I had lettuce, pasta, red onion, tomato, sweetcorn and ham, with a fat free dressing called sesame soy. It was delicious, as I knew it would be, because Chop'd is consistently good quality ingredients. They aren't stingy on the contents either, mine was fully loaded with all the good stuff. This chop'd branch is smaller than most, but the queue was comparitvely small (the one in spitalfields used to be about 50 deep sometimes). They have most ingredients that the big stores have, and the staff are nice. Thank god. Salad harassment via Yelp over now I've found my BFF Chop'd again.

By the time I finished paying, my superstar name was being called and my salad was ready. I wasn't sure of the protocol, but went up to the guy with my receipt only to find him staring at me, clearly waiting for something. "Salt and pepper?" He asked. "No thank you," said I. "....." A bit of silence on his part. "What?" "No." I then received a confused look before he put his head down and mixed my salad. Points for the freshness, but it would be nice to see it a bit chopped. I had a full half avocado that was uncut and the other bits of avocado were massive. The tortilla chips were full sized, too, which means more bang for your buck (do they even have that phrase in the uk?) But also means my fingers in my salad to eat them. Also, considering he mixed my salad in front of me, it was remarkably unmixed and layered. One thing to note is that the chicken is chunks but the turkey is thin like deli slices. Points to the cashier for making sure I understood. I will say the price is right. I paid a little over £6 for a bottle of water and a medium salad - just the right size for me, but maybe not for those with healthier afternoon appetites.

I do still go to some of my favorites on the other side of the road, but these are definitely much closer. I was quite happy to see they just put in a chop'd in Regent Plaza, as I'm a huge fan of salad (and not the weird UK mayonnaise-y ones either). They've got premade salads or you can stand in the queue and have them make one to your specifications. I imagine that could get pretty spendy or you may just end up with a salad that defeats the purpose of having a salad. I opted for the harissa chicken salad with a mint yogurt dressing. I really enjoyed it. The dressing was tasty. The chicken was nice. I really can't complain that much. Plus it's a nice feeling to think you did something healthy with your lunch instead of a burger and chips or something. I'm sure I'll be back here several times to try more of the salads on offer.
