    Strawberry banana cake
    Rose J.

I contacted the manager Greg and stated my concern about the dry cake. He asked if I still had the cake, if so to bring back for a full refund. When I got to the restaurant he took full responsibility and returned my money. We live in a culture where this is not the norm. People want to go back and forth an create a terrible scenario about your customer experience, if you complain, as if you wanted a problem. I am impressed he took responsibility for his product and didn't put blame on me for their quality of food. Kudos Leos barbecue for your customer service!!!. I understand things happen and I will come back to eat here and give your barbeque and cake another chance!

I heard this was the place to go when visiting OKC so I stopped by.... I am from Tulsa and we know a thing or two about bbq This place has a great recipe for greatness!!! It is local, seemed to be family operated, and legendary. A hometown thing that has outlasted many restaurants in the area. It is a black owned business with family roots. As soon as I stepped in, the smell of 'que hit me. It was overwhelming. I was immediately hungry. The place is a small hole in the wall, with minimal seating. We sat at a open table and were greeted rather quickly. It was lunch time on a weekday but seemed rather busy. The waitress explained the different specials and sauces. They also brought me a few sides to test out since it was my first time. The waitress was attentive and kept checking to make sure everything was good. The food wasn't as great as I expected, BUT the cake.......the cake was the star of the show. The cake saved the day!!! and....it was complimentary with every order. I actually saw folks ordering entire cakes. I would have if I wasn't traveling. It was yummy, the one thing I ate the entire thing off my plate. I also asked for extra icing, it makes a difference. I say go, if just for the strawberry banana cake!!! it is worth every penny!!!

To understand the niche that Leo's fills, let's compare it to what it's not. If Iron Star is so-called "fancy BBQ" with fine dining using a knife and fork that you go to for nice occasions, Leo's is the exact opposite. Billed as a "dive" on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives(one of its claims to fame), it is your quintessential Southern BBQ place where you show up, get your hands and face dirty with some delicious BBQ. In keeping with the dive theme, it's located in a shady part of town and as a result I've only been to Leo's for lunch during the daytime. The service is gruff in keeping with the overall feel of the place, but has always been appropriate. I always get the ribs when I come. Their menu is a bit confusing and could use some reorganizing - it's set up in a 5x4 table and you kinda pick based on weight. Because of this I still have to think every time I come in as it's not intuitive. The ribs are delicious, tender and fall right off the bone. I always douse them with a generous amount of their house BBQ sauce which is my 2nd favorite thing about Leo's(1st is the cake). I think it may have some cinnamon in it? Total conjecture, but whatever it is I'm all for it. Lastly, a separate paragraph needs to set aside for their dessert. You need to get their "world famous strawberry banana cake". Although there's a price listed for it on the menu, I've always gotten it complimentary with my meal...either that's an unwritten rule or my server's just been nice every time. The cake is similar to a pound cake and comes with slices of strawberry and banana on top. What really makes it phenomenal is the icing. It's got a hard texture(similar to a Krispy Kreme donut) and has a rich sweetness...I just want to call it Southern crack. The combo of the cake, the icing and the fruits makes for an awesome combination and is the perfect ending after wolfing down a bunch of BBQ. Leo's has and will continue to be my go to recommendation for anyone from out of town who asks what the best local place for barbecue is in OKC. It's history of being family owned and operated since 1974 and consistently serving quality BBQ definitely make it an OKC staple.

While some of the wording was different, I was able to order the exact same burger I fell in love with years ago and the flavor instantly sent me back to the first time I tried it. I ordered the MOB XL Burger Basket with Jalapenos, avocado, and loaded fries. The jalapenos here aren't just regular jalapenos. They are flavor country (also very hot). If you like spicy food, these are the best burger jalapenos in the city imo. My gf ordered the regular single with jalapenos and was annihilated by the spice. She's kind of a wimp when it comes to spice but she trucked through it because the flavors are so good. Long story short, this is still my fav burger in OKC (by a long shot). The fact that this place isn't always highly-rated in a state where people worship Whataburger and Braum's borders on absurdity. MOB is similar to Tucker's but better in every way. It absolutely annihilates S&B and the Garage in flavor. The only possible downside is if you want a tame burger, then sure this isn't the place for you. But if you are big into flavor, this place will take care of you better than your mama. Now that they have delivery options to my house, I will definitely experiment with the other menu items. Thanks Marco!

The staff is friendly and attentive, and the experience stood out even more when the manager personally stepped in to seat us instead of making us wait. That level of involvement says a lot about how they run things. The food was amazing! The burger I really liked, it was cooked just as I asked and had a good smoke flavor even if it wasn't cooked on a wood fire grill but a flat top. The brisket was great, the fries and I have to say I didn't hate anything. I absolutely loved everything. Even the strawberry lemonade was delicious. I liked the sweet competition sauce but their original kc sauce was just right with its peppery sweet taste. The restaurant is clean, well-lit, and gives you a clear view of the food you're about to enjoy. Overall, it's a welcoming spot with great energy and attention to detail. Definitely recommend.

I actually heard about it while doing what I do best: eavesdropping. As in, eavesdropping on another traveler in the same rental car line as I was, asking the attendant who had the best BBQ in town. I instantly saved Clark Crew on Yelp and found time to head over the next day! Their menu was so extensive, I had to enjoy half of my frosty pint of beer while I decided on a combo plate. Folks, this thing was immense - a heaping pile of meat, sides, and their legendary pickles. (Don't forget to ask for the pickles!) To be honest, it was too much. I could barely get through half of it before sheepishly requesting a to go box so I could wolf down the rest later at my hotel. And yes, the BBQ was delicious. A great combo of smoky, smooth, and rich. If I hadn't been carry-on only, I would have grabbed a couple of bottles of their sauce to take home. The service here was over-the-top amazing, too. I wish I remembered my server's name, but I remember that she was awesome. And also excited to hear that I'd never been to OKC before!

During a morning meeting today, my coworker stated that there is no good bbq in OKC. . . I had to prove him wrong. Arriving 30 min after opening, the line was packed. Hunger and anticipation was building. Went full out and got the Texas Trinity Platter. Pound of brisket, pound of ribs, 2 sausages, 2 sides, 2 hungry stomaches. A beautiful red sheen of a slight glaze on the ribs with flecks of black pepper that I could look at all day honestly. A sweet glaze that I was definitely the best rib I've had this trip. Not overpowering and chew of smoke with each bite. Such a wonderful brisket too. Spots like these always make me double take if I'm not in Texas. A wonderful pitch black bark absorbs all the smoke. A little bit on the saltier side on the initial bite, but balanced once the beef fat started flowing from between the meats. When I dived up the leftovers, I took ALL the slices from the flat. Such a meaty and beefy flat that was still juicy. So much so that I wasnt sure if it was the brisket or my drool. Between bites, I couldn't get enough of those pickles. Wonderfully vinegary and refreshing. I forgot to try the pickled onions because the cucumbers were sooooo good. I loved the flavors of the cheddar jalapeño sausage and the hot gut. The was a little bit more of a bite on the casing but tasted amazing. I'm literally sitting in my hotel right now eating it while typing this.

My only minor complaint is that burnt ends were sold out by the middle of dinner. We didn't come that late or anything. The 3 and 5 meat plates are kind of hard to fill out without duplicates and without burnt ends. So it would be nice to either have more burnt ends or allow duplicates on the large meat plates. But I get why that may not happen. I had to fill my 5 meat plate with various sausage which were good but hard to eat a lot of due to how rich they are. Of course, the 5 meat plate was ridiculous to begin with so that's on me, lol. I thought the portions would be smaller, but I appreciate the generous sizing. All in all, we had a good experience.
