Update: I had the opportunity to speak to the owner Dan and he was fantastic. Dan addressed our issues and that this is not the level of service they strive to provide. He went above and beyond to resolve the issues and make everything right. Happily going from a one star review to five stars and we will use them again. Thank you, Dan! We've had Leonardi out for two appliance repairs in the last four months, and we won't be using them again. The first visit was for a dishwasher that had stopped getting the dishes clean. After a $300+ repair, it leaked the very next time we used it, causing over $2,000 in damage. That repair should never have been done, and the technician should have advised us to replace the unit. We gave them the benefit of the doubt that he did what he thought was best and called them back for a dryer issue. This technician said nothing was wrong, yet the problem has continued. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. There won't be a third time. read more

We needed to replace a broken down 27 year old Viking built in refrigerator. We couldn't afford another built-in, so we called Leonardi's and asked if they could measure so we could buy a counter depth refrigerator that would fit in the opening. I was very nervous about it sticking out because our current one was flushed with the cabinets and looked very nice. The person who came to measure was very knowledgeable and reassuring. I put in an order for one after speaking with the sales lady on the phone and she helped me find the largest good name brand counter depth refrigerator at a good price that would fit. A few days later, I got nervous, and I called and talked to her poor ear off, but she reassured me, and today they came, took away the built-in and put the new one in and it's fine. Everyone at Leonardi's was very patient and knowledgeable. They were very careful not to damage anything in the house dragging out one big old fridge and dragging in one new one they didn't damage anything. It took three of them quite a while to get the old one out, turns out one of the three was the actual owner of Leonardi's. He was so nice. Extremely professional and knowledgeable and just genuinely kind. Now I know why all of the Appliance Repair people and phone people at Leonardi's are always honest and nice when I talk to them. They are reflecting the personality of the owner. I had told my neighbor a few years ago about Leonardi's for Appliance Repair and purchases and now she uses them also. Leonardi Appliance has been our "go-to" shop for affordable and competent service for several years. But recently, we have experienced subpar service and disrespectful staff. When we ordered a washing machine to be delivered to a rental property at a specific time and place, the delivery driver showed up at my home instead. When I bought my house, it was a showroom in this builders lot. Everyone should have been new/unused and I would expect/hope for these appliances to last, at least, 5 years before I had to return. Granted, it is hard to tell how long they will last. However, after 3 years, my dishwasher started to act up. Near the end of the cycle, it would stop working and flash all of the lights. Like any other home owner, I opened it up and pretended to know what I was doing. Of course, I did not. Went on youtube who gave a lot of suggestions that I didn't feel like going thru. Therefore, we made the decision to call a repair business. Leonardi has basically perfect reviews or close enough to it...so it was no question who we wanted. I didn't want a company who preteneded to fix things, but in reality, would suggest replacing to make a quick buck. Based on the reviews, this company sounded perfect for us. We book an appointment. Gave all the details and they showed up a few days later. The appliance repair guy told us what was wrong and might have caused the error. Should be an easy fix but if it happens again, this could be wrong and even gave us an estimate what it might cost. Very respectful of this company and this is how you keep a reoccurring customer. He fixed the problem we called about - no heat on the dryer quickly but then made a suggestion on how to fix a long term exhaust problem. Walked in with a good idea of what I wanted to buy. A salesman rushed up to me and asked if he could help me. I told him I was looking for a washer and dryer. He asked how many people were in my family. I thought that was a strange question though I did understand why he asked that. He wanted to size us up with the appropriate sized appliance. He was not giving me a chance to even talk about what I was looking for. As soon as I'd stop saying something he'd jump in. So I said I knew what I wanted, he immediately cut in and asked if I had a model number. I said, well not exactly that specific...then he says, "Well, you said you knew what you wanted." ...? I said, we could leave. He wasn't even giving me a chance to speak. So he says, you can do what you want and turns to walk away. ?? It infuriated my wife. He had absolutely no reason to be that pushy or rude. He never even gave me a chance to explain what I was looking for. He was so set on cutting me off, it was as if he never had any intentions to sell us anything and just wanted us out of the store. I just looked at my wife and smiled, shook my head and we started to walk out. My wife works in healthcare and has a long and upstanding reputation for being extremely sweet and patient. She was not at this point. She couldn't understand for a second why anybody would be that rude for no reason. She let him know it under no uncertain terms and he told her he didn't like my attitude...? He never even gave me a chance to speak. It was as if he wanted to control the conversation and lead me around by the nose or something. It was childish. I was planning on buying a washer and dryer set and a refrigerator. He lost all 3 sales because his ego wouldn't allow me to explain what I wanted. He wanted to tell me what I needed. I've called them before and always gotten polite reception from the woman who answers the phone for service, etc...?? I guess he just didn't like the way I looked. ? It made absolutely no sense. We're going somewhere else right now and I still can't figure out why anybody would be such a rude so and so to a potential customer. Ridiculous... UPDATE.... I reviewed this business On another platform. And the response was a bold-faced lie. They claimed that we were rude the entire time and that my wife's language use towards the salesman disrupted all of their other customers. First of all I was in a great mood when I walked into the store. I tried to joke with this salesperson and they took it completely wrong. From that point on they cut me off and were rude to me every step of the way with a demeaning undertone interrupting me and trying to get me to let him tell me what I needed instead of letting me tell him what I wanted. I actually had their website on my phone with the models that I was interested in but he never even let me get to it . As far as my wife disrupting "the entire store and all of their customers", There wasn't a soul in the store besides the three of us, the salesman, and two ladies behind the service counter and a plexiglass window. You can add liars to their list of negative attributes. I don't know if this guy was having a bad day, didn't understand my sense of humor which seemed pretty simple, didn't like the way we look, Who knows? I didn't think it was our responsibility to figure out what his problem was so I suggested we could leave, they said THEY decided not to do business with US, that was not the case.) and he just said do what you want and turned to walk away. Is it a crime to expect people to at least be reasonable. I'm not looking for somebody to massage my ego or kiss my rear end. I just expected common courtesy. I've come to a point in my life where I will not tolerate demeaning language, rudeness or any other kind of unwarranted negative behavior towards me or my family. If they are not mature enough to admit what really happened, obviously that problem is going to remain at this business. WOW! We could not have gotten better service! The evaporator fan stopped working thereby making the fridge stop cooling. Having never used Leonardi before we called them for repair based on referrals. Had to wait about 5 days for service (originally scheduled for repair on a Monday) but the store called the Thursday before and said a repairman could stop by in 30 minutes because he's "on his way home." When he walked in the door he already knew what was wrong and had the part in his hand. Was here all of 15 minutes. Turns out it was the OWNER and he was on his way home two blocks away away from us! Our fridge of 13 years died this morning and we were a bit nervous heading into the holiday weekend. After checking the web sites and quickly visiting a few stores we chose Leonardi. Kitty was a great sales person who was very helpful and informative. She checked all competitive pricing and reduced the price by $90 when she found it lower elsewhere. Even better we purchased the refrigerator at noon and it was delivered and installed before 2 PM. The delivery/installation team was great. Called multiple times and always ended up speaking to a woman who was very reluctant to help me And immediately assumed I did not have model numbers and told me to call back before even asking me for the model numbers. We ended up going with someone else because after establishing I had the information she was requesting, it was still difficult to communicate with her about their geographical limits. A scheduler should know or at least be able to look up on a map to understand and work within their companies established geographical limitations. Route 126 runs east to west for the main part of town and runs northeast up to I55. We are three houses to the east of route 126 near the northern part of the transition to I55. Technically, we are south of route 126, but if the company's intention is to bisect plainfield to not accommodate south of Lockport street (same as 126 in part of town) then we are well within the service area. She advised she was not familiar with route 126- which is what she stated was her companies geographical boundaries. read more

Customer service was awesome. The service technician that came over was prompt. Only problem I had was that the guy that came he was literally here for maybe four minutes? It was a 80 something dollar service charge that was explained I agreed to. But this guy came with the bad personality- Even asked us to get us Q-tips for him for my own personal bathrooms if he was not a professional- then told my sister some thing about the process of how the range lights and said "you don't know this?".. Charged us an 80 something dollar service call, then charged another 80 something dollars for service/supply for what? I'm not sure? And if you are going to come and charge us $180 for 4 minutes of using our own q-tip to clean one hole and just leave-- ?? I don't know. I feel ripped off. Incredibly professional, knowledgable and kind staff. Our oven stopped working days before my father was scheduled to have a major surgery. Although they didn't have available appointments that week due to the holiday, Dan came the next day before business hours started to help us out. Josh came out one more time and identified a separate problem. He showed us the power tester, the readings, and how he identified that the oven was actually working fine and that the issue was with the power outlet. They kindly only charged us for one service call although they could have charged us for two. It's been a few years since my original review, and it's worth updating to say that Leonardi's is still the best, and basically are the shining example of the kind of awesome family owned and operated local business that I love supporting over the big box stores and online warehouses. Anyway, I've got a washer and dryer set that came with my house and are from the early 90's. I've replaced everything else in this house as it has broken with appliances from Leonardi's, and really figured it was just a matter of time before my 25 year old washer and dryer finally kicked the bucket. I've been budgeting for a new set, and my dryer finally bit the dust on Sunday so I figured now was the time to pull the trigger on that, as why bother investing any money into fixing something that's almost as old as I am? Leonardi's puts their orders in weekly around 11:00 AM on Tuesdays, and I was up there at about 10:30, completely planning on plopping down $2,000. Dan recognized me when I came in, remembered my name even though he hasn't seen me in years, and asked what's up. I explained my ancient dryer isn't getting hot anymore and I'm in here to buy a new set and he basically wouldn't let me- Instead insisting he swing by my house this afternoon to fix them. Well, Dan just left, my dryer works again after 15 minutes, and he repeatedly reiterated to never get rid of this set as it's easy to repair, and easy to get parts for, as everything they make now has a million electronics instead of a few simple mechanical components. While he was here he even took the time to pop open my washer to see if there was anything worth replacing. It looked brand new inside. And, well, here I am, with an extra $1,850 I didn't think I would still have in my pocket at the end of the day, with a dryer that works again. As long as I'm in the area, I'll always buy from Leonardi's. If I would have went anywhere else, they would have taken my money without a second of hesitation... Instead of just showing up at my house a few hours later to take a fraction of what I had intended on spending with them. It actually goes even deeper than that, as Dan mentioned if I would've bought the new set, he would've taken my old ones as part of the delivery then flipped them for $300 a piece in his store in a matter of days. So, really, the amount of money they could've made off me in this transaction would've been bananas. Whatever the margins are on $2,000 worth of new units, plus the $600 on my old ones that I'd never have bothered to care about, versus ... $100 for the service call and $50 worth of parts. I have purchased from Leonardi Appliance in the past and I have also had them come to my house for service work. I like their service and friendliness every time I have called or stopped in. Yesterday I called in because my washing machine wasn't working. I received a call back from Dan. In a matter of 5 minutes Dan was able to give me an idea of what the issue was. Rather than forcing me to have to schedule a service appointment or selling me on a new washing machine, he let me know that the fix was pretty easy. I came in this morning around 9am and Dan actually physically demonstrated how to access the panel and replace the broken part. Earlier this week, my 19-year-old Kenmore Elite refrigerator decided to take a hiatus. So I took advantage of Yelp's chat feature to connect with service providers.
