This was a superb dining experience. The waiters were lovely and knowledgeable and the food was fantastic! The only problem was choosing what to order. There are too many enticing dishes! They have a wine rack which you are invited to get up and browse through to select your wine. I thought that was a nice touch. The chairs are super comfy and you can easily sit there all night. I can't wait to go back and try more yummy things from the menu!

Stuart summed up this dining experience brilliantly. Although I've haven't dined here for dinner, I've had the pleasure in indulging in their high tea menu and as expected, it was utterly divine! With a glass of champagne upon arrival and a decadent platter of savouries and sweets, you almost feel you're reliving the pure and graceful characters of Elinor and Marianne, the Dashwoods sisters of Sense and Sensibility. Expect cucumber sandwiches, the edges manicured perfectly, hot pastries baked perfectly by the in-house chef and sweet decadent tartlets and moist chocolate cakes. There is also free flow of coffee and tea to end your perfect high tea experience here. I promise you you won't leave feeling hungry, the servings is generous and enough for 2 high tea fans. The high tea menu runs from Tuesday-Friday from Noon-3pm and cost $39 per person. You need to make a 24 hour booking to secure your high tea experience. A perfect arvo to spend with your mum or with the girls! p/s: Parking is a bit of a pain, I suggest park at the nearby Mitcham Library and enjoy a short 3 minute walk to the restaurant!

Late review but I had to say something. Best dining experience I've had. The trio of beef and rosti was to die for! Highly recommend it!

I've heard people say that they never change their menu - well, for one, that's not true - there's always seasonal specials floating around - but two, the core menu doesn't need to change. Perfect steak - aged on the premises. Seriously, this doesn't need mucking around with. They do steak so well they're the standard I gauge EVERY other steak I have by. It IS a little formal - you'll be greeted at the bar, and the expectation is you'll settle down for an aperitif before being seated. There's invariably a little dip to nibble on, too. A small serve of the house speciality meatballs will help you through the choices on the menu - and the BEST steak on the day will be recommended. There are some alternatives for non cow lovers, but really Cork & Cleaver is ALL about the best beef in town. I'm normally a mushroom sauce kind of person, but here, go the bernaise, it is an incredible accompaniement to the perfect steak you'll receive - the plate of sauteed mushrooms as a side is pretty top notch too. Desserts are done with just as much skill as the meat - the personal attention of your waiter or waitress will ensure your dining experience is second to none. As a devout foodie, this is exactly how I think heaven will be.

It really is a melting pot full of peculiarly combined ingredients in small, a bit bigger and…read morebiggest dishes all made for sharing between 2 or more friends. I had heard service of food and wine was so efficient that we decided to play the "order as we go" game and was not disappointed. A lot of our ordering was done based on what the waitress recommended and I was surprised that things which sounded not bad were outstandingly good - probably due to the freshness of produce. My recommendations? - Order wine by the glass, there is plenty of it and you can pair your wines with the share plates. - Get the Kingfish sashimi in coconut milk with coriander and the pepper crusted barramundi wings, soy, chilli, shallot dressing as minimum for starters. - Get Blue Swimmer Crab Parpadelle. It is better than my Italian in-laws make being light, melt in your mouth strands of joy and the crab wasn't overloaded in the dish nor was it sparsely disappointing. You probably won't feel like sharing that dish though! Every dish is made to share, so you don't end up fighting over 3 arancini balls nor wondering where the rest of the meal is. The dishes are fresh, quick and bit sized, this is a wonderful place to spend time in on a winters evening with a cosy, candle lit atmosphere suitable for a group of sharing, caring friends.

Their menu caters to the sharers amoungst us with a small and large option on pretty much everything. We ordered 4-5 sharing small options and were completely stuffed by the end. My favoutrite......the dumplings......or maybe the thai beef salad....... Each dish was more delicious than the last. The wine list didn't have alot of wines I knew as Im a big fan of SA wines but with advice from staff we chose the French rose. Oh my was it good. I highly highly highly recommend a visit to this beautifully set out small restaurant.
