If I can give 0 stars I would. I've been using LensCrafters for years, in different parts of the country and this was THE worst. I knew my script was wrong and asked to be seen again to correct and the Dr gave a new script in hopes it would work; while the tech basically blamed it on me for not having selected their premium package... maximize my view. Mind you- had progressives for years. NEVER had to upgrade my package. Total f$&?! Sham. I just went to a diff doctor and received a completely different script. Entered and exited in about an hour. None of the employees acknowledge our presence, Ever, nor felt obligated to even say "Hello". They were not so busy and a female employee avoided eye contact while sitting at a desk playing with her computer, ignoring customers. O m G when I saw the extreme cost of frames! My insurance won't cover their overpricing. Extremely expensive frames and Zero Customer Service. Had same experience in New Hampshire several years ago. Along with my yearly physical I include an eye exam. The last 4 years I have went to O.D. John Matthew Gill located at Lens Crafters at the Tucson Mall. I am provided great service and thorough exam. John explains everything very well and educated you on how healthy your eyes, blood flow, and vision are. I have a great insurance so I have no out of pocket expense, but I'm sure your insurance would go far there and be put to great use. I receive reminders when my next eye exam will be by email and text, and I have never had to wait longer than 5 min to start my exam. read more

I've been to this LensCrafters many times. Every time I go there, they are always willing to take the time to help me find the right eyewear and work out all of my preferred features. Today's experience was no different. The eye exam by Dr. Gill was completed professionally and very detailed. I was also helped by an excellent sales associate named Cassandra and her supervisor. I think that people love easy, they respond to it and want the process to be easy. Lenscrafters knows this. The sales people are always nice and make it easy for you. The eyeglasses are arranged to make it easy and their selection is carefully curated, to make it easy for you to choose. The store atmosphere is welcoming, and even though always busy, they get you through. But, behind the scenes, Lenscrafters comes up short. Looking back over the years, I have had mistakes made in the exam with the prescription, with the finished product, with the pricing and other critical details,. I've had to backtrack, follow up, pursue these issues to get them to make it right with additional wait time. This is not a discount eyewear store. These things are all important enough to make me realize that there have to be other places to go that have quality eyewear, good service, but more attention to critical details behind the scenes. A few years ago I received a gift card from my sister for an eye exam and a complete set of new glasses. I wasn't to happy about it because it was for Lenscrafters! My sister had no idea what I experienced at one of your locations in Newport Beach. i bought glasses there several years ago, and one day an arm fell off of my glasses. I went back to the LensCrafters and I was told my warranty or whatever expired one day ago, and those A-holes refused to help! Since that day I vowed never to step foot into a LensCrafters again! That's until I met the most amazing person, Christina! Then, after my new glasses lenses were put on backorder from the manufacturer, she put in temporary lenses immediately at zero cost. My lens prescription is about as mild as it gets, and they wanted just under $400 for the lenses! That's not even competitive, but just outright over priced. The policy above is the reason I recently chose LensCrafters. I experienced this policy in Oceanside, CA. Much different experience in Tucson, AZ. In late March of 2021 I purchased two pairs of glasses at LensCrafters located on Oracle, Tucson, AZ. I had just been diagnosed with my right eye close to needing cataract surgery. Once I received the first pair of new lenses I thought that cataract surgery was eminent. Luckily, I had ordered a second pair, Ray Ban, who provide their own high-quality lenses. Once I received the Ray Bans I could see clearly! What was the difference? Let me explain. I was told by one of the staff that the quality of the Ray Ban lenses is superior to the first pair of lenses. The first pair of lenses were placed in LensCrafters' frames using lenses other than Ray Ban lenses. Now the story gets better. After having the lenses in the first pair replaced twice with less than satisfactory results on Mother's Day 2021 I asked for a full refund. Jennifer, the store manager, after a half hour review could not duplicate the original sales receipt. She told me she did not have the codes to access the receipt. Then she told me that Amanda was the only one with the codes to access the original receipt. Jennifer told me that Amanda would call Monday. I waited all day Monday. After no call Monday, I called Tuesday, speaking to Jennifer, she told me she forgot to talk to Amanda. She then told me that Amanda would call me in a couple of hours. In the meantime I contacted corporate LensCrafters. In summary, LensCrafters corporate could not find the original sales receipt. Finally, on Wednesday at 5 PM and then at 7 PM Amanda called with the information needed to refund the cost for the original frame and lenses. Computers were the problem I was told. To allow their system to work each time the lenses were remade the clerk had to dummy the computer system. In one case the clerk told the system that I had received a partial refund put back on my credit card. Therefore, after visiting the store three times for lenses that did not work I had to bring Amanda my credit card so she could refund my full purchase. I have to wonder, how was it that the clerk could dummy the computer system telling it (Amanda confirmed this in the telephone calls Wednesday) that it had refunded a portion of the sale, yet I needed to bring the credit card to the store to get my refund? Trust me, I believe that some blame falls on corporate. Hearing the clerks in the store telling customers, "Sorry, I wish the computers were faster" or having employees, like Jennifer, that seem troubled to do what she promises to do in total makes it hard for them to stand behind LensCrafters' 30-day policy as quoted above. Fortunately, I have other choices. My concern is the population that LensCrafters serves which is their only choice. I can only imagine that if I had only purchased that first pair of lenses how I would have gone screaming into my primary care physician asking for an immediate referral to an ophthalmologist for cataract surgery. Had LensCrafters' followed their 30-day policy I would have: · Had my refund on Mother's Day · Would have had a call from Amanda on Monday · Jennifer would have apologized for the inconvenience · Corporate would give/require local stores to have the most up to date computer systems · All employees would have the ability to refund or close the store on days when management is off. If LensCrafters is your only choice, I strongly recommend that when purchasing lenses from LensCrafters and receiving lenses that blur your vision order a second pair somewhere else. If you have other choices go elsewhere! I know that I have made my last trip to LensCrafters. Please see the email from LensCrafters corporate admitting that they could not find the original receipt: "Hello Gerald, Thank you for contacting LensCrafters! We have received your refund inquiry but it looks like we are missing some information. If you have a copy of your return receipt, please attach it as a document and we can look into this further. Was in search of some new glasses and ended up here. I had heard decent stories about this specific location so I went ahead and started trying on some frames. The gentleman I spoke with was very helpful and friendly, and eager to find me what I was looking for. I ended up ordering a pair and was told I would be notified a week later to pick them up. This was fine with me since I had a backup pair. I received a text message on a Friday stating they were ready to be picked up. I was excited to get them since they had my updated prescription and the one I was currently wearing was old. Upon entering the store later that evening there was one woman present. I waited for over 45 minutes without any sort of acknowledgement from her. I understand that she was helping another customer but how hard is it to say "we are having a wait time of this and will be with you shortly." Or even a smile perhaps? I received nothing. I was a ghost in Lenscrafters. Oh wait but it wasn't just me. An entire family came in during that time and each family member was looking for glasses, and none of them were acknowledged so they eventually left. Then a couple came in, who also eventually left since they realized they were not about to get assistance. 45 minutes later I was finally acknowledged. A "can I help you". I let her know I was here just to pick up glasses. She continued working with the other customer but asked me my name. She then had me go wait at a table with my glasses till she was able to come over. From there it was pretty quick and she assisted me and made the other customer wait on me, but it should not take that long to realize that you need to step away from your current customer to find out what someone else needs. I would have been in and out in minutes if she would have just asked what I needed. Very unorganized and poor customer service. Normally I don't mind paying a little extra if I know that I will be treated well, but these are basic customer service skills that were lacking. read more

After paying an exorbitant amount on Tiffany frames my glasses come in and the clerk called and stated the prescription in the glass is wrong. Excuse me???? How does that happen? So I asked for the blue blocker to be taken off. She stated no that won't make them come in faster.....I didn't ask for fast.i I asked for it to be taken off. Still waiting on glasses that she assured me would be here in 7 days and still have blue blocker on them. SMH read more

I would give it a 0.000001 star if possible. I purchased a full set of glasses and a pair of lenses for an old set of frames in January. I had my eye exam at the doctor's office in the store. I waited 2 weeks for my glasses, only to find out that the prescription was wrong. The optometrist used dirty lenses, so lesson learned there. But wait, there's more crap. After getting a new prescription, and waiting more weeks, I thought things were fine. I had paid for the warranty on the new pair and thought I had paid for the warranty on the lenses in my own frames. The manager of the store did the sale and said that with the warranty, all we had to do was bring them in and they would be replaced. Now in August, I needed to replace both sets of lenses due to damage. I found out that NO warranty had been applied to the lenses in my frames. The assistant manager "assisted" me and did nothing. I actually needed to warranty the pair I bought because of a spot on the lenses. I explained that the manager indicated that the warranty was on both sets of lenses back in January. Francine said there was nothing she could do and that "some customers just don't get the warranty on both pairs." That's it. No help. No assistance. Her comment was that I should have read my receipt. Well, the fucking MANAGER of the store told me it was on there, so why would I doubt her. I said "fine," just warranty out the full pair since it DID have the warranty applied. To my surprise there was now a co-pay of $50.00. This was the first I heard of that charge. The manager said all I had to do was bring them in and everything was covered. All I can surmise from these interactions is that LensCrafters are staffed by morons who lie and take your money. These thieves should be avoided at all costs. They will take your money, sell you a complete story, and charge you extra with no warning. Crooks all of them. I'll be taking ALL of my business elsewhere, even if it costs more. Clearly you DON'T get what you pay for from LensCrafters. You get lies for your $35.00 extra and NO HELP OR DECENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more

I went to LensCrafters because I've been using them for several years. The mall location was the first place that had an optometrist appointment that worked, so I went there. The doctor was great, my exam was perfect. However, I did have a problem with getting my lenses correct, there were several miscommunications with staff that led to them having to redo lenses more than once. I credit them for going above and beyond to make sureI was satisfied with my purchase. In that respect they did an excellent job. However, when it comes down to it, I walked out of there with lenses I was not completely happy about. I requested a gradient tint that was not on a polarized lens, and they couldn't do it. I requested a single tint and found that they wouldn't do it as dark as I wanted. Level 2 tint was as far as they'd go, and frankly... it's not what I want. And now find that there is no way for me to rectify that. The fault is more with the lab that refuses to give me the level of tint that I want on my glasses for whatever reason, and now I find no one get lab in town will do it unless I buy another set of lens. Once a great place to get glasses, LensCrafters (on Oracle, Tucson, AZ) has seriously deteriorated. First they got rid of their on-site lensmaking (lens in 1 hour), which was their single biggest draw. Then their prices started going up. Then a huge turnover in staff seems to have taken place. Now the service is terrible and the costs have skyrocketed. I went in to get my scratched lens replaced and they wanted over $300 (for 2 polycarb bifocal lenses). I went to Costco instead, and ended up buying an entire new set of glasses (frames + lenses), of the same quality, for $49. read more

I was waiting for just the right moment to buy. But that ended when my Oakleys finally broke after numerous times & numerous years, film faded, sauntered, etc. & the lenses were crappy polycarbonate; the worst optical clarity of the three main types: glass, plastic, or polycarbonate. I've visited all three Lenscrafters locations to see what frames they had available for purchase & this one was by far the most competent. Not only did they have the widest selection of frames for me to choose from but the staff here were very knowledgeful, & were able to understand exactly what i needed. Not only that, but they made my HD lenses in 2 days! Over Memorial weekend! I just picked them up an hour ago. I thought i was gonna have to wait till June. I have severe myopia & minor astigmatism in both eyes. I can only legibly read text from within a foot away from my face. Also, i had my eye exam here a day before we ordered the "new" HD digitally prepared plastic lenses (what took them so long?) The eye examination had the latest equipment, all-digital, perhaps except for the air shooter machine. (Again, what took them so long?) I didn't have to have a retinal examination because last time i had it, extra $30, at the one across the street. But they haven't synced their systems yet therefore they can't transfer the photos :( I have EyeMed (insurance owned by Lenscrafters) & the CoPay was $70 w/o the digital retinal scanner. I like how the doctor was quick & kept chit-chat brief. Retinal exam & air shooter are for old-people anyways e.g. detecting cataracts, macular degeneration, etc. Ask for eye drops samples to keep your eyes lubed after having them dried from the exam. Especially because of the air puff machine. I also love how this location is usually quiet & not usually slammed w/ customers, unlike the one across the street. They also seem to have the largest display & to be the only one's w/ a clearance/sale section of frames. I chose Lenscrafters because they have a 30-day money back guarantee on eye glass purchases. The latest technology. They own most other eyeglass companies anyways, unfortunately. Free Lifetime adjustments & pad replacements. Unlike Alvernon & Optical when i last went there in 2012; they were "all sales are final" last time i went. Alvernon & Optical also didn't have an optional protection plan like Lenscrafters which i bought. Because my last pair were breaking numerous times. They were Oakleys, made in China. The film had faded from exposure to chlorinated hot & bubbly jacoozi. Always needing adjustment & were irritating because they don't curve around your ears like normal glasses. Even their sunglasses. They're all looks but they sacrifice ergonomics. Falcon are better sunglasses $50 Amazon, designed by the Air Force. Now i got the cheapest, perhaps the last pair of cheapest, full-frame metal glasses. EyeMed covered 44% off the lenses. The current sale is 40% off lenses w/ a frame purchase till mid-June. But i'd wait till March or September because that's when they have their best offer, 50% off. read more
