I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at this LensCrafters location. I called ahead to ask about getting a refund for my order. The employee on the phone told me to come into the store and that they would help me process it there. I drove 1 hour to the store and waited about 20 minutes, only to be told that they "can't do anything" until the lenses arrive. This is incredibly frustrating because that information should have been communicated to me over the phone. Instead, I wasted over an hour of my time and gas for something that could have been clarified in a two-minute conversation. It feels very unprofessional to tell a customer to come in knowing nothing can actually be done. Better communication and respect for customers' time would go a long way. I would strongly suggest avoiding this location due to the irresponsibility of the customer service. This is the first time I've had my glasses done from Lens Crafter. Over the years, I've been to Costco, but this time, my vision insurance no longer covers Costco. At first, I was slightly sad about not being able to have it done at Costco, but yesterday's experience at LensCrafters changed my mind. I made the appointment one week ago; the last slot was on Saturday. I got checked in right away and had my routine eye exams with the addition of a retina test. It's cheaper than Costco, $39, and covered by FSA. The whole process was smooth; everyone was friendly and professional--special thanks to the young guy who patiently helped me choose a frame and Mark. Mark was the person you want to deal with, friendly, trustworthy, covers all. He explained the purchasing and pick-up process in detail. Overall, I'm glad I came to this location. It was on the 2nd floor of the Galleria Mall, with the AMC theater above it, which was very convenient for checking my eyes and picking up. read more

Disappointing Service at Redondo Beach LensCrafters My kids and I visited the LensCrafters at 1815 Hawthorne Blvd., Suite 236, Redondo Beach, CA 90278 (inside South Bay Galleria) and were initially greeted by a friendly male employee who said someone would be with us shortly. I understand the staff was busy, but after waiting about 15 minutes, one lady became available. Despite making eye contact, she completely ignored us. When another couple walked in, she immediately greeted them and asked how she could help. At that point, I politely reminded her that we had arrived before them and asked for assistance. I was there to replace scratched lenses for my daughter and repair my son's broken frame. She asked if I had purchased my children's glasses from LensCrafters (I hadn't, though I've bought glasses for myself there in the recent past) and then proceeded to help the couple first, saying she would "return in a moment" because they were picking up glasses. We left without doing business, frustrated that our needs were clearly deprioritized despite arriving first. This experience suggests that customer service at this location could really use improvement, every customer deserves attention, regardless of previous purchases. read more

Mark was very helpful. It stopped there. The guy with the white hair, talked about me on the sales floor when the associate asked him questions, while rolling his eyes. They tried telling me I already exchanged them. I did NOT. I purchased one evening and the next morning I called to change the color or the frame ONLY and this was well before they had been sent out of the location. If they couldn't do that I would cancel. They told me it didn't come in tortoise shell when I literally just saw it at Del Amo the day before and it's online. Lo and behold they found the tortoise shell! I was trying to exchange sunglasses purchased because the prescription lenses come out quite a bit lighter than the lenses on the sunglasses when I decided to purchase. I literally wanted darker lenses only, they were unable or unwilling to do that so I returned them. They looked more like dime store glasses than Ralph Lauren. I tried to make them work but they're far too light sensitive and I'm outdoors too much . I paid 140 cash and put the rest on my debit (still cash, right?)and it takes 4 WEEKS to receive my money back via check, they can't put it all back on my debit card with the rest of the purchase. I asked for a corporate number and was given a 800 number inside the return envelope which doesn't go to anyone. South Bay Galleria LensCrafters location is the worst, but the overall policy of saying you have 30 days to return them put you through hoops and cannot help at the end of the day, is ludicrous! Mayra saved me $1000 when she verified my insurance and told me my daughter contact lenses was covered for whole year. I almost went home and ordered myself if she didn't recommend me. Lens Crafter in Redondo is the very best! I've actually gone to them for over 8 years. They've always been courteous and most helpful. I had my prescription sun glasses tightened yesterday; they had become a bit loose; and I was in and out within 10 minutes. The gentleman that assisted me was "Jason" and again he was most helpful. I even brought my receipt, however it wasn't needed! I also lost my case, and he was kind enough to replace it for me at no cost! This is the kind of service that keeps me coming back! I really hate writing bad reviews but I have given this company 3 chances to make things right but they just don't get it. I wasn't going to post this review. It's been sitting in my "drafts" but after what happened a few weeks ago, it's time. Where do I start? I went in for an eye exam a few months ago. The doctor told me I needed a new prescription for reading. Ok, great. I bought a new pair of reading glasses. She also said I should try contacts. I was nervous but I tried it for distance. I had a hard time putting them in & out so I asked for a 2nd lesson. God forbid I should ask for an extra 5 minutes. She said I put them in correctly and told me to remove them at night. Btw, disposable contacts are expensive so obviously a money maker. That night, I couldn't get one of the contacts out. I was freaking out. Store is closed. No one to call. I'm trying to watch Youtube videos on how to get a stuck contact out. I ended up making my eyeball bleed. Yes, bleed. I called 1st thing in the morning. They told me to come in and see the doctor. I tell the male manager what happened because I would think as the manager, he would care. Nope. No apology. Nothing. I finally see the doctor. Guess what? There is no contact in my eye. The assistant who was teaching me how to use contacts was obviously not paying attention. In addition to the contact fiasco, the reading glasses I purchased from them were the wrong prescription in one eye so I had to have them redone. Lastly, a few weeks ago, my distance glasses broke (the arm) so I brought them in to get new lenses. Guess how long they told me it would take? 2 weeks! So, I went to the Del Amo location and they had it done in 5 hours. I'm currently on Yelp trying to find a new optometrist. I might just go back my old eye doctor at Cedars Sinai who has a real medical degree. read more

The Assistant Manager, Mark, at South Bay Galleria was not communicative and helpful in getting my glasses fixed. I bought some glasses in April (less than a year ago) and the protective film started to peel. He said he would help and he did try but he would just give me the runaround and not get back to me in a timely manner. After a month of saying "I'll call you back " and pretending to care, he said "Sorry I can't do anything about it". Not even a discount. He said to me "I thought you were going to go to Costco instead." Which I never said! I said my that friends go to Costco and get better service and price and they question me why I don't go there instead. Mark was rude and doesn't really care about keeping the customer happy. What he did help me decide on is to never shop at lens crafters again and go to Costco instead. read more

I normally dont start a review with the reason for the amount of stars but the fifth star will depend on the results of my moms lenses that were ordered. As for customer service, Sineh did a wonderful job taking care of my moms visual needs. He allowed her to try on different frames that she may be interested in while at the same time following covid protocols. He handed her a small box and instructed her to put the glasses she has tried on into the box so they can be sanitized. It didn't take her long to find the pair she liked. They were Ray Bans. She sat down with Sineh and discussed her visual issues which Sineh took into consideration while using such a high tech tablet that not only gives demos on how the features functions on the glasses but it also took precise measurements of the glasses while she was wearing them. I've never been in a lens crafters so this was mind blowing. Were just waiting for the glasses to arrive. As far as the price...they can be pretty pricey. I don't mind paying a high price, just as long as I get my money's worth. We shall see when they arrive. read more

I came in here for an eye exam a few weeks ago mostly because my insurance company has them as in network. I made my appointment online the day before and there were several Saturday time slots available. When I arrived they ended up running about 20 mins late but this wasn't a big deal for me. The eye exam itself seemed relatively standard. They did a bunch of tests and then doctor confirmed everything on the manual glasses machine. I didn't feel rushed and think they did a pretty thorough job. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and efficient. I normally get my glasses at Costco but ended up getting a pair here for just $25... again because they are in network for my insurance. Had this not been the case I would've been back at Costco as most of the frames they sell here are on the expensive side: $100-$200 (not including the lenses). At Costco they have lots of selections between $40-80. Overall I'd come back here if I keep the same insurance. read more

I've always gone to private fancy places for eye exams, but came here for a last minute Saturday appointment. I was very happily surprised. Sineh was lovely, knowledgeable and patient. Dr. Multani also took time with me and made sure my prescription was correct. There were more glasses to choose from here than any of the other (4) places I visited. I came here recently couple of times because my girlfriend wanted to get new pair of glasses since she has LAUSD insurance discount. And turns out, that I got a pair for myself :) Very happy with what I got. Nice black/blue frame for $135. Exterior - Nice view of the interior and very lighted. Located on the 2nd floor of the South Bay Galleria next to the escalators. Interior - Very clean and tidy. White walls. Black carpets. And they had seatings for people that were waiting and people who just wanted to sit down and view some glasses. They had glasses to right and to the left. Brand names from Brooks Brothers, Prada, Ray Ban, Chanel, Tiffany & Co, Oakley, and more. Visible view of the technicians doing work in the back. Customer Service - By far one of the best service I ever had at an optometrist. They greeted me upon entrance. They usually have at least two front desk workers to assist you.They do call-in appointments and walk-ins. You do not need a appointment if you already had your prescription and are looking to buy frame and lens. And after choosing everything, they will have your glasses within the hour for most. Unless there's a special order, it may take 7-10 business days. And they do call you the day before your appointment days. And I have not met the optometrist, Dr. Vic, but my girlfriend said he was very nice and informative. Prices - Lens were $190 for the classic. They are amazing. I am using them this very moment. And they have the AR (anti reflective) lens for $250. The frames range from 100-500 depending on style and brand. For example Club Monaco and Ray Bans were in the 100-200 range. While Chanel and Prada were 200+. Really depends on the brand and style. Overall, I had a great experience in this Lens Crafter. First one I've ever been to. Plus since you can get your glasses in an hour, gives you time to walk around the Galleria and explore. By the way if you're hungry, food court is 3rd floor. read more

This place is terrible and a rip off. They're not willing to keep there customers happy after they get paid and during a pandemic. Bad customer service,bad with returning phone calls. I was warned but I need glasses and was told Id get them same day. Not true, they recommend transitions lenses. Huge rip off they wouldn't return my money or repair flaws in my lenses. TWO stars for the whole process of getting a new pair of eyeglasses and a super bonus star for Dr. Giaclone. PROS: - large selection of frames. Large space. - Dr. G who is patient and listens to your needs. He gave me about 4 contact trials before I found the right fit. - price matching on contacts. - friendly sales people. - cool new machines which auto-fit glasses for you and even take photos so you can compare frames. CONS: - pricey even with their current half off lenses sale or AAA discount. - my lenses were not ready in 1 hour or even 24 hrs! - It is in the Galleria which is an annoying mall in general. So I came back in 25 and it still wasn't ready. I was annoyed and the least they could have done was call me and let me know it was not done beforehand. So I left. Came back the NEXT day on my lunch break and then they were finally ready!!! Note that I did talk to a staff member about the length of time it took to complete my lenses. Although she was kind, they didn't really make me feel better about my purchase. I spent so much money in here and the least they could have done is 1) give me a discount or 2) give me more than just a nod, a smile and an "I understand." So I've been going to this location for about 3 years, and each time I go in there I'm treated with respect, and never have any issues until last Sunday. It's fairly easy to make an appointment, I typically call in but I believe you can do it online. It is difficult to make an appointment on the weekend, so be prepared to wait a few weeks before an available time slot. I usually deal with Dr. Multani, who I found out works Tuesday-Saturday, and there are two other doctors for Sundays and Mondays. I have never had a single issue with him, and he's always been very pleasant to deal with, super quick but thorough exams, and all around a nice doctor. Me not knowing there is a different optometrist who works on Sunday, I came in for my yearly exam with my husband. They were incredibly short staffed but all of the staff made it work. The pre-test took a long time, as the gentleman who was assisting us was from a different store, but I stayed patient as I know how hard it can be in a place you don't know. After that, I was seen by Dr. Natsumeda. And this is where my problems start. He kept trying to talk me into contacts which already annoyed me, as I felt like I was being judged for not wanting to wear contacts. He kept going on and on about how will it feel if I'm snorkeling in Hawaii not being able to see. This conversation went on for maybe 10 minutes which was 9 minutes too long. He then needed to re-test me on one of the machines, and while we were waiting he made a lot of unprofessional comments about their equipment, and how some doctors don't have the necessary training to deal with everything? I kind of zoned out as I was a little uncomfortable. My husband was also there getting his exam, and without going into too much detail, I have never been so offended by a DOCTOR'S comments to his patient. He was judgmental, rude, narcissistic, and such an unpleasant guy. He made inappropriate comments about personal issues that my husband has been going through. This trip's only saving grace was the assistant manager, Sineh. He was an absolute delight!! He checked in with us every few minutes if we were waiting too long, he was so friendly, answered all of our questions and helped explain things in a way we could understand. He took his time with us and we didn't feel rushed. I will make sure I make it a point to NEVER come here again on a Sunday. If Dr. Natsumeda is the optometrist that day, I will leave and come back when Dr. Multani is there. My only suggestion is to make sure you come between Tuesday and Saturday so you can get a proper exam without judgement. read more

Came in today because the coating/film on both my prescription sunglasses and glasses are peeling off on the edges. This started happening AFTER I brought both of them in for repairs at this location. Both glasses were purchased at a Lens Crafters: sunglasses at this location and glasses in Portland. A little background: A screw on the sunglasses fell out maybe 6 months ago resulting in one of the lens falling out. Brought it in to this location and got it fixed right away. I left a satisfied customer. One of the rubber socks on my glasses ripped so Luxottica sent me an entire new frame to replace (they couldn't send just one separate rubber sock). They told me to go to Lens Crafters to get it done. I brought it in to this location late last November/early December. Got it back in a timely manner. Left a satisfied customer. Came in today to see if they can get this fixed. The guy who helped me out said they're not responsible for damages during repairs by their technicians. THIS IS THE MOST BACKWARDS POLICY I HAVE EVER HEARD! I asked him just to be sure, "so Lens Crafters isn't responsible even when its technician leaves a big scratch on a lens during repairs?" The guy said yup we are not responsible! And that I should have been told about this when I dropped off my glasses. I was never told about this horrible policy! I will contact customer service about this and will never again shop at Lens Crafters! read more

This is not supposed to happen. It is terribly unacceptable since this was mistakenly handled for damaging my son's original glasses and we paid for a new frame. After two months, it was replaced by a cheap and fancy one none of us chose. This was the worst thing I have ever experienced with LensCraft in the world. We started to have an unexpected experiences in having my son's glasses adjusted in this store which made its lens broken. May I still have a chance to make it right? I am afraid.
