I've enjoyed coming here for many years, and I appreciate that when I travel, I can visit any LensCrafters in the country for assistance with any issues. When I first went the lady read and documented my prescription incorrectly supposedly it was corrected, the new prescription is horrible I thought it was off because they were new after 3 months I went back to my old glasses. We had an appointment for 11, the dr did not see us until after 12:30. We were told there was one patient in front of us, but he called two before he even got to us. They really need to schedule better. Waiting over an hour and a half to see the doctor is ridiculous. The girl at the front was also rude when I inquired as to the wait time. I give the dr Paul Bostwick a 5 star. He is very kind & really takes the time to explain things & answer questions. A real professional. The ladies that work in the shop are also all very sweet & helpful. But the company of lens crafters is a joke. They mixed up my first prescription, then gave me a defective lens in the replacement. Then for the 3rd fix the protective film they put on the lenses had spots in it when they transitioned. At first it wasn't really noticeable then it got worse & worse until I couldn't wear them & wouldn't you know it I went past my 30 day grace period. Now they said they will give me a 50% discount to fix what they admit is a factory mistake but since I'm past my 30 day grace period the manager said she can't help me any more than that. All heart . So now I'm out almost $600 for glasses I can't wear unless I want to pay another $200 for their faulty work. Should have went to Costco. read more

BEWARE!!! LensCrafters is using the COVID situation to scam people out of more money. Now they claim that you HAVE to pay for a Retinal Photo $40 per person when you go in for a exam. Due to COVID. When in fact it has nothing to do with COVID, their corporate claims they have no control over their doctors, when in fact any Franchise can forbid this sort of dishonest behavior. They have to do a exam and fit glasses whether or not you have the Retinal Photo. We had three appointments scheduled for our family and cancelled them all. Doubt we will EVER be back. read more

I had a great experience finding my 8 year old son's glasses here. I had actually taken him to a different place for his eye exam, and while we loved the doctor he saw, they unfortunately did not have a good selection of kids frames to choose from. So I took the prescription to LensCrafters after I found out they accept our insurance. My son was so excited to see how many options he had to choose from here, and he ended up with the perfect glasses. The employee who checked us out was very helpful in helping me understand the different lens options. They originally gave me a 2 week ETA, but his glasses were ready for pickup in 3 days! Please please do not waste your time or money visiting this place! I went in last summer for an eye exam and was planning on getting new glasses and sun glasses prescription. Well, they were starting a new eye system. The First assistant to see me and do my pre-exams, just started back with LensCrafters. She did here thing and then had me go out to seating area. Then Doctor called me back and started the exam. Which quickly went no where, as he was trying to figure out the system. Once he got it going, we started and he said looked at pre-exams and said my eyes were "dry" that the tests looked "off" . So he got original assistant to re-do a few tests after putting on some kind of eye drops. She did them again, and then back to the doctors chair. Doctor looked again and said tests still "weren't right!", so back to the pre-test chair, doctor came in applied more eye drops to my eyes. Re-test again!! So after the third time and back to the doctor chair, he says ok tests still not good but we will move forward. You could tell Doctor was clearly frustrated and unfamiliar with new equipment. So we test, and again got no where!! Now I say "ok, I see we are getting no where. And your getting frustrated and I'm getting really irritated so let's just end this here! Maybe try another day!" As I walked out. Went back to waiting area, grabbed my stuff doctor never said two words to me, staff never tried to ask me anything, never received a call or anything about the visit and what went wrong!! Poor poor customer service. Next weekend I went to Target in Turlock, saw Dr. Avak. Did the pre-exam, went in to see Doctor, as soon as he looked in my eye he said you have a Cataract! What!!? After an exam and talk with dr Avak, refered to a specialist and yes, Cataracts in both eyes requiring surgery!! Wow LensCrafters, what a swing and a miss!! So my Dry eyes at LensCrafters was a "Cataracts"!!? Wth!! Dr Avak is great and very informative and great with the patient. Go see him and steer clear, real clear of LensCrafters!!! read more

Polo frames, yea!! The only bad thing was that you pick your frames from the big wall display. The ones you pick (that have been tried on by 1000 people and have been bent backwards to stress test by dozens are the ones you get, not a new set from the back. read more

Ok so I first went to the one in the mall. They had nice enough a service but for some reason couldn't pull my insurance. Ok I'm a little peeved I spent so many hours waiting cooking it frames and paid for a dilation and now you want me to pay outta pocket when I know my insurance covers it. No. So I call this location and he says yeah come in tomorrow and we'll pull it up some times when you have insurance through a federal system the person may not know how to do it. So I corn in at 10am Tim is the only guy working. He politely greets me and tells em he'll be with me as soon as he's done with his current customer; at the same time he figures out what I needed so we can dive right in when he's done. Fast forward. He comes I ever pulls everything up no problem authorized the insurance and gets the other LensCrafters to send over the frames I had picked out since the lt were out of that particular color. Less than an hour later I get an email saying my frames are ready. Currently I am waiting to pick up the glasses. Tim ran to the mall location to get the frames I guess they decided to fill out the prescription there instead of transferring and then filling it; either way it has been very speedy and efficient service. Can't rate a zero, but I would if I could. Came in on Saturday to get my exam done. Just a basic exam and I was here for over two hours. Now again on Monday for my son's exam and it's been over two hours and he's still waiting for the Dr to examine his eyes after dilation. The Dr did someone else's full exam while we waited and waited then tried to pass up my son for a walk in person there for a contact check up. If you're thinking about lenscrafters, the mall one is better. The front desk couldn't figure out how to look up our insurance. Eye glasses selection is so mixed up and unorganized I can't even begin to look for either of us. I've been to many places for exams and choice of eyewear, this is the worst I've ever been to in my life. Never again, never again. read more

They didn't bother to even acknowledge that I was standing there for several minutes. I wondered how long this would go on so I didn't say anything. Yikes! What a Horrible experience I had at the Modesto Location at the Mall. I set up an appointment online...which was easy....and actually called to make sure they had the appointment. registered, I showed up the next day, on time, only to find out after waiting an hour that the Doctor had gone home after her last morning appointment and they were trying to contact her to come back in. Now granted this was on July 3rd...and I'm sure a lot of people took off early to start their holiday. I had called twice to make sure that they could accommodate my request for an eye exam and glasses the day before the 4th of July. I was also driving in from out of town, a distance of 51 miles so, I wanted to make sure that this could be done...which I was assured they could. . Now my day wasn't a total loss as I made a quick phone call to Stanton Optical whom I had passed while driving into Modesto and they were able to take me in right away. I was able to get me exam on the 3rd and my glasses on the 5th. All I can say is for being one of the biggest Optical shops around.....Lenscrafters you failed in my book. I've used you in the past but I'm taking my business elsewhere in the future. read more

I came in and I was greeted immediately (I was 30 minutes early) I expected to wait a little later than my appointment time because that's pretty typical anywhere, but they took me early here! I've had eye exams done here since 2004. I've seen doctors come and go, but none have matched the professionalism, thoroughness, and patience of Dr. Paul Bostwick. From my understanding, he usually finishes his shift at a certain time, every day. It was already a couple hours past that time and he was still taking his time to get my exact prescription, since I had started having trouble seeing clearly with a certain brand of contact lenses. He figured it out and I can see crisp detail at distance again. Dr. Paul Bostwick belongs in a much higher-level facility and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him open up his own practice or even teaching one day. He's THAT good! Could not recommend him any higher and my father, mother, and sister agree. We've all had exams done by him. The staff is friendly and it's easy to make an appointment. Wait times are acceptable, considering how thorough everything is. I like the Optos machine that takes images of your eyes. It can show very high detail of everything going on in your eyes. Worth the extra charge to check the health of your eyes, once every year or two. read more

This store makes me so sad. They have no customer service, no empathy, no humanity - just a firm desire to control their small fiefdom. My husband wear's glasses all the time to see - he's not a part-timer like me. We were in an airport in Alabama heading to our next destination (with 4 more to follow) and we broke his glasses. I called the store, young gal answered, I explained the bind we were in and asked if she could help me. She quickly found my husband's record so I asked her to email it to me - she put me on hold - came back and said their internet was down. Asked if she could send it to my efax - she put me on hold - came back and said they would need my husband to sign a release form. I politely reminded her that we were in an airport and had no way of printing and returning the form. Asked her if my husband could provide personal data to prove who he was - they don't have any personal data on file. Asked here if she could just give me the numbers over the phone and I would record them - she put me on hold - came back and said no that wouldn't work either. Asked her what I could do/provide/pay to get the information from her - she put me on hold - came back said unless they had a signed release form there was nothing that could be done - she was sorry and asked if I wanted to speak to the manager. The manager came on the line - I retold my story (it's been 27 minutes now) - her suggestion was that I search for a local Len's Crafter at our next destination city and she would release the file to them. We are on business - traveling to 5 cities and the last thing I have time to do is to hunt for one of their stores - my plan is to go to the closest place and get a fast pair of glasses made! So obviously I am frustrated, stressed and angry and I feel that if I explain my situation again it would help. Hmm - I got a snicker from her and a "well, sorry there is nothing we can do". We ended up finding a local chain, paid to have his eyes (re-examined) and glasses made. Needless to say - I won't go back to this store. read more
