Buyer Beware: Experience Shopping Wisely at This Store
Are you ready for an honest review of my recent shopping experience? Let me start by saying that this store has some truly friendly sales staff who try their best, but it can be a bit chaotic with the barage of incoming customers. So, here's the deal - I want to help you navigate through the challenges I faced so that you can make an informed decision when shopping here.
First things first, this store is always bustling with customers, which can be overwhelming. Finding a moment to concentrate on your choices is a challenge, given the constant stream of people. The sales staff, bless their hearts, are swamped too, and they frequently have to juggle assisting customers while managing new arrivals. Consequently, it often feels like a rushed experience.
Speaking of the staff, they are very friendly, but they can be a little pushy with their sales tactics. When I expressed my budget constraints, they continued offering pricier options, one after another, until I insisted on what I wanted within my price range. It's all part of their strategy, I suppose, but it can be frustrating.
What adds to the confusion is the multitude of options presented on iPads while everyone is distracted by the busy environment. I admit, I found it hard to pay attention to all the choices, and I just wanted to get out of there after waiting for over 30 minutes to speak with someone.
On top of that, let me share my refund ordeal. When I had to cancel an order the next day, the manager made it quite challenging. He tried to dissuade me from obtaining a refund, making me feel like I was wasting his time. Even when I arrived at the store, he didn't seem eager to assist. Instead, he issued a refund by check, requiring me to wait for it to arrive by mail. It was quite inconvenient.
Regarding insurance, be cautious. The staff may not always know precisely what your plan covers, and they might encourage you to buy things that aren't covered or within your policy's range.
Now, I don't want to discourage you from shopping here entirely. If you do decide to give it a try, come prepared. Do your homework with your insurance company to know exactly what's covered, and ask your doctor for precise requirements. Don't hesitate to assert your preferences clearly; it's the best way to cut through the sales tactics.
All in all, my experience wasn't perfect, but with a bit of preparation and a firm approach, you can navigate this store and come out with what you need. Remember, knowledge is power, and being aware of the potential pitfalls will ensure you make the best choices. Happy shopping!
UPDATE (8-2-2023): Today, I visited Berkley Eye Center, where I paid $40 out of pocket after my insurance, and I brought my own pair of glasses. In contrast, Lenscrafters quoted me around $340 for using my own pair, despite having access to my insurance coverage, which is quite upsetting. Looking back, I realize my previous review of Lenscrafters was too generous; it seems they were attempting to purposefully overcharge me. read more
