Called today, spoke with the manager Larry. Larry told me I could not obtain my "PD" mesaurement over the phone because they do not know what style of glasses I would try to get and they could be from China.... WTH? Geeze Larry a PD measurement has nothing to do with the frame I'm going to choose. My pupils are gonna be in the same place. Who cares where they are from why are you so judgemental? Heck the pair of Armani Exchange frames I bought from your store in March of this year were made in .... tada.. CHINA. Oh, and Larry here is how you measure the PD which you choose not to include on any documentation you give the customer, so they will not be able to get a secondary pair of glasses cheaper than the $205.00 I paid! So, I'm going to get out a cm measure and get my PD. "Hold a millimeter ruler above your eyes and flat against your brow. Close your right eye and align the ruler's zero to the center of your left pupil. Without moving the ruler, open your left eye and close your right eye. The distance measured to the center of your right pupil is your PD." Nothing to do with the frames or where they are made. read more

my 1st visit to order glasses and 2nd visit to pick up were fine. the sales person was great, the computer failed on both trips. actually had to come back on 1st visit to finish order because of computer problem. 3rd visit to return glasses due to order being placed for bifocals by salesperson not by me. the same polite salesperson which was the same person previously. again computer problem and another sales/manager had to help. She wanted to give me refund to original credit card which I did not have with me. She said she would give me credit when I came to pick up new glasses. I am now waiting again for my refund, fortunately my new glasses are here. I won't be using them again, they seem to have to many problems read more

I saw him again and again they didn't work. It was decided that my best vision was without glasses. I brought them to LensCrafters and was told that they were outside the 30 day guarantee. They had been remade twice but that didn't count. It's 30 days from your first purchase. Common sense does not prevail. Their policy is cast in stone. They are NOT customer friendly. Everyone reads the same script which is company friendly not people friendly. They will do nothing to help...NOTHING. Since there are now many places to get eyeglasses, I suggest you use any place but LensCrafters. read more

I am beyond over this LensCrafters, I have had to reschedule my kids eye exam multiple times because the store's availability is NEVER consistent so I rearranged my work schedule so my kids could get their eye exam and they changed the appointment time and said nothing to me, don't come here just find someone else more reliable. read more

Recently I have been going to LensCrafters to get contacts. I have really had a great experience with LensCrafters and really do recommend everyone visiting them to visit with the Optometrists and to pick out your next lens's or frames. This location is located in the Oaks Mall. I am glad that the Oaks mall still exists here in town and it will be sad to see if go if it ever does. I have been here a few times to work on getting my contacts and the staff is always super friendly and warm. Recently they had an issue with one of the contacts that I had and they decided to order a new set for me, free of charge. I have also had a few things ordered and shipped here and they are always nice when they call and they have been waited for me to arrive close to closing time just to make sure I had what I ordered. I do I highly recommend Lenscrafters and recommend them for your eyes! read more

If I could do a lower rating I would. I paid $235 dollars to get contacts and they wouldn't even release my prescription for contacts. I just called them today, 9 Nov 2022 and was told I had to call in to tell them that the contact was ok and I told them no one told me anything of the sort, now I cannot get my prescription release from them and I paid $235. I am in need of getting contacts because I have nothing else, no glasses. This is where I will seek legal advice against them for holding my prescription hostage. read more

Show up at LEAST 15 minutes prior to your appointment or you WILL lose it! When I scheduled my appointment there were tons of appointments that day, but apparently they fill up the day before or the day of. I received a voicemail asking me to show up at least 15 minutes prior, but no warning that if I showed up within that 15 minute window I would not be seen. So, here I am feeling like an idiot for having fallen on my face and broken my glasses after my household goods were already moved out. As I am moving to New Mexico this weekend I have tons of stuff to do and got stuck in traffic. When I called to give them a heads up that I would make it by my appoinment time but not 15 minutes early - that's when I found out that I wasn't going to be seen in that case. So I drove like a bat out of hell (sorry Gainesville), only to get to the mall and have absolutely no idea how to find them. Remember when malls had an interpretive sign inside the entrance? Yeah, not so much. After asking several people, a kind Arabic looking man steered me in the right direction, but as the place is huge and I couldn't see the Lens Crafters sign, I called to verify where exactly their office is. I told the woman on the phone that I could see Dillards in front of me and a Shoe Carnival to the side. She told me that no, I needed to go to the Women's Dillards, so I turned around in a circle, couldn't see it, and finally realized I had no hope of getting there on time. Only after turning back did I suddenly spot an interpretive sign in the middle of the mall, realize Lens Crafters is right next to Shoe Carnival and right before Dillards. There is no Women's Dillards sign - you just have to know which one is for women I guess. I turned back and thought maybe if I came in and the next appointment hadn't arrived they could still see me. I stood inside the entrance while everyone there ignored me, and when one of the employees finally did, he was all smiles when I told him about my plight. "No problem!" he said and told me "Come this way." Then he steered me to the counter where the woman I had been speaking to on the phone told me that "No, you're too late and we can't see you." I looked at the time - it was 3:45 PM; the exact time I had scheduled the appointment for. ... So I'll wear these messed up glasses while I drive to New Mexico and visit the VA hospital in Albuquerque so I can get new ones. read more

Went in for my fist eye exam in decades. The people behind the front desk were helpful and kind. They did the exam, nothing out of the ordinary. Dr. Walker found a small speck in one of my eyes only turns out bad less than .01 percent of the time, so I have nothing to worry about. Because of this .01 percent of the time problem they had a "medical dx" and build my primary insurance. When I left that day I was assured that all fees were paid and complete. In a few weeks I get a notice in the mail form my insurance company saying I owe $150.00 for my eye exam. I called the optometrists office to see what the misunderstand was and they apologized but concluded that I did owe the $150.00 and I needed to pay in or it would go to collections. Really nice bate and switch from the front office. I will not be going back. read more

I've been a faithful repeat customer of this business for over 10 years, yet within 20 minutes they lost my business. I spent over an hour selecting frames while the staff was working with other customers. When I had my frames selected, I sat with a rep to place the order. I was given a final price of $315 for lined trifocals with anti-glare/reflective coating, and transitions (automatic sun shades). I asked about the blue filter, and was told it was automatically included in the transitions package. I didn't quite believe that, because it had never been presented to me like that in all my previous purchases. I then said that I would be paying once again using my Care Credit card. I was told that they no longer accept Care Credit. I pulled up the Lens Crafters website on my phone and showed them where it stated they do accept it. I was told that corporate hadn't updated the website yet. She then said that I wouldn't be able to complete the transaction today because they didn't have a licensed optometrist on staff. What? I asked her how I could order a pair of glasses online without an optometrist, but couldn't in the store. They gave me some song and dance about policy that I didn't buy for a minute. I asked her if she realized that by not taking care credit and not being able to complete the transaction today would cause her to lose a long-standing customer. She apologized, but I didn't really believe it. I really don't think she cared. I walked down to the Pearle Vision store that also located in the mall, and the person there was very helpful. They explained the blue light coating is a completely separate thing from the sun shade transition, as I suspected. I ended up ordering my glasses at that visit from someone who was NOT an optometrist, using my Care Credit card. Yes, I did pay more, but wasn't given any flimsy excuses either. They conducted themselves in a way to show that they truly cared and really wanted me for a customer. Lens Crafters needs to update their website and better train their staff to meet the customers needs without giving ridiculous excuses! read more

Very unprofessional front desk staff. Some of them were OK and seemed knowledgeable, however, 2 of the staff members at the front desk seemed annoyed with all of us in the waiting room. Maybe they were just annoyed that they were busy,idk. The male tech was great, very professional, and knew what he was talking about. He was the only reason I actually liked my experience. Doctor was OK but barely spent any time with me and didn't really take the time to answer my questions. I won't be going back due to none of my questions being answered, and feeling like I was a burden to the office. I work at a hospital so I am familiar with what good patient care looks like-- this was not it. I have already found a new eye doctor and gone today. Much better experience. read more

Dropped into my local store for assistance on warranty work. They took the info, offered assistance and stated they would contact me when ready. Seven days later, no contact. Called back for assistance they stated it takes ten days. 14 days later, we called and now the manager stated they would not help resolve this. As we simply tried to understand the issues at hand and the failures of communication, the store manager threatened us and then cowardly hung up the phone. To be clear, this behavior is coming from the manager of the store. She is unfortunately for Gainesville, not great at any aspect of her job. Communication skills possibly being her worst trait. If you get the joy to meet her, good luck. I recommend that you look elsewhere if you prefer any type of honest and respectful communication. I sat on my glasses and needed to get new ones. Not only did I receive excellent care with Shaw Eye Care and Dr. Jennifer Harp and her technician, but the customer service in the retain area was excellent. My eye exam was wonderful and quick. Dr. Harp had things very organized so that while my eyes were dilating I could go into the retail area and find the glasses I wanted. Then her technician/receptionist came and got me when they were ready to continue the exam. Dr. Harp and the tech/receptionist were very friendly and gentle with the exam. I have very sensitive eyes but the exam was not nearly as worrisome or painful as I have had in the past at another clinic. While in the retail side, I worked with Debbie. She was fun and friendly. It was almost like I was shopping with a friend. She listened to me when I said I was on a budget and helped me find glasses within my budget. In the end I worked with all three retail associates. I received such pleasant customer service that I would definitely suggest Lenscrafters at the Oaks Mall to others. read more

Horrible service and they cheat on prices and did fraudulent charges on my CareCredit. Starts off with associate(Maddie) who cant figure out % off and didn't know current promotions. She said to email her the promotion(40% off clear lenses and 50% off sunglasses) and she would give credit-oh brother-not even close (they are commissioned so not inspired to help). Got manager(Kerry) involved-Even worse-Care credit froze account. Got that fixed-then they had lost my glasses between pick up email and my arrival ! Waited 2 hours as requested and -still not done-she says power outage-well nobody else in the mall had power trouble.(wasted my Sunday at mall). Waited another hour and a half-and couldn't see out of the glasses- they said I need to get used to the progressives-which I already use. I kept trying-brought back next week for full refund-that has never shown up on my credit card-It has been well over a month. I have paper receipt for refund so I will fight this until resolved. I see why my husband cancelled his credit card and boycotts them for 2 years now. There is a nice Family eye care in Alachua that is family owned-hubby got his glasses there no drama and in 2 weeks!!! - Follow up..... Well I did as you all requested for the refund research but your form does not have a place for Carecredit as an option so I put MC so I could file it. Waiting for over one hour to have an associate assist me was horrible... My glasses had, once again, broken. The right side rear piece continually feel of at the frame. The associate, to be fair to her, did replace the frames immediately... At no cost. However, the lenses were severely scratched early after purchase. I am unsure how it occurred, however, the scratch looked like product weakness... The associate determined that it was scratched by misuse. It cost another 200.00 to get new lenses... They have insurance for only one year for about 35.00. You pay a copay if you use it as well.. I purchased a pair of glasses from Sam's Club, and they replaced the lenses one time for free.. Finally, after a rude treatment from the associate when I picked them up, and no thank you, I left... Forever. Beware of costs, rudeness, and a wait to be served.. read more

Today, however, I went to look for new frames; found some I liked; when the (only) person on the floor asked for my info, she looked it up and gave me some crap about them not having a prescription. Even though there are some helpful people working upfront, the bad-mannered, rude, and unprofessional ones outweigh the good. I called and asked the day before if they could print out my insurance information since I lost my card. She happily obliged and said the information would be ready for me to pick up the next day. I go the next morning to grab it, and explain to them my story, and one of the receptionists is giving me major attitude saying that they couldn't give me my insurance information and it was basically impossible to print out. I tell her "uhhhhh I spoke with xxx yesterday and she told me my information would be ready for me to pick up...." Another receptionist comes over and solves the problem and gives me my information in less than thirty seconds. I don't want a star at all. It needs to be minus star. You see I bought glasses at LensCrafters in June 2019. Two pair. I returned the glasses. But the store didn't do what they needed to do with insurance. The whole thing was a mess. I said I'd never go back. I caved and went back recently and picked out frames but had to go back for an exam. I got an exam that next Tuesday. when I went to pay they gave me this story that I had no benefit for frames. They blamed my insurance. It has been 13 days later and approximately 10 phone calls later and LensCrafters tells me I have no benefit even though I have. LensCrafters did not reset my acct after I returned the glasses two years ago. It is much worse than I am telling here. The manager is very incompetent. Today I went back to the store and asked to pay bc my insurance said i have the benefit. LensCrafters would not speak to me. They said only the manager can and she is on vacation till Friday. I left the store. Went to Pearle. Sat down and asked to see my insurance benefit. The man was respectful and competent and showed me my benefit. In one hour I picked out glasses and paid for them. I will NEVER GO BACK to LensCrafters. I've been telling people all about this. A friend of mine in Minnesota told me he will never go there either. It must be bad all over. read more

This would have been my second time to use Lenscrafters service, the first time was not bad just a little on the expensive side. I made an appointment for my wife and I and upon our arrival we were told that the exam would be between $79.00 and $250.00 each so I asked to have my last visit pulled up from their records and my exam was $79.00. So I asked what it would cost this time and got the same answer, $79.00 to $250.00 and was then told that I wouldn't know until after we had the exam. Now I'm an older person and perhaps this is how business is done today but I don't understand why on my last visit they said the exam would be $79.00 and this time there was the mystery price. To me it appears they are simply running a scam on people who would sit in the chair not knowing what it will cost to get out of it. We will never use Lenscrafters again and will warn everyone that we know to avoid them as well. We both walked out wondering how they stay in business. read more

I went to LensCrafters's for an eye exam and purchased some new frames for my new prescription. The left hinge on the new glasses kept snagging my hair and breaking it off, so I went back to them SEVEN different times to have it adjusted (turns out that is a manufacturer defect and can't it be adjusted!). They finally agreed to give me new frames but the prescription was wrong and I couldn't read, so 3 days later I was back to the old frames. They have a 30 day return policy which they strung me along a few weeks past. So I took it to corporate and they said it was past the 30 days. I'm warning you, don't go there but if you buy glasses from LensCrafters's be sure to DEMAND a fix, repair, or replacement before your time is up. I now have some expensive glasses and a chunk of broken hair. The staff including manager are rude and unhelpful. I will say the doctor side was great but I will never step foot in LensCrafters's again!!! read more

I purchased my glasses two weeks ago in Texas and realized afterwards that I wanted insurance on my frames and the lenses needed cleaning. Honestly the least helpful people I've ever met. I interacted with three different sale reps and each one made me feel disrespected. At first, no one even tried to help me and then when I needed help, they gave one word or very short responses. The first one to actually acknowledge me dumped me off on another person and didn't try to hide that he felt annoyed. He was rude and seemed to look down on me. The second was more pleasant and at least wasn't as obvious with her feelings. You could tell she didn't want to be there but she made an effort to smile, try to help, etc. The last person was one of my least favorite associate from any store. She knew almost nothing, was blatantly rude and condescending, and seemed like she just really didn't want me to leave with glasses. Next time, I will be driving to another location just so I don't have to feel so unwelcome and out of place in a store. read more

This review is about the retail experience of the LensCrafters store, not the optometry office inside the store. I broke a pair of glasses that I had purchased from LensCrafters with the protection plan. When I came in to have the glasses repaired I was told that new lenses and the same frames would take approximately two weeks to come in. After 5 weeks went by, I called to see what happened. They were unable to get the same frames and fit not call me to let me know. After some emails to corporate and to hone calls, I was told that my lenses were there and that I could come in any time to pick out new frames. When I went in today, I waited nearly an hour and a half to be helped, despite one of the workers pulling my lenses out and placing them at the station where I had been asked to sit. The only other worker there then helped two other customers who came in after I did before getting to me. I waited an hour and 20 minutes before asking someone to just hold the frames so that I could come back later. They needed another employee working and they need better training on customer service period. read more

I visited Ted Brink and Associates/ Lenscrafters in the Oaks Mall for a routine eye exam for glasses. I gave them my insurance card that covers the exam and glasses (which I don't buy there because they are too expensive), signed a stack of paperwork, went to the back with the young lady and then waited for 30 minutes for the doctor to come in and do his thing. I paid my copay that way due for my visit and went to another store to purchase my glasses. Two weeks later I get a bill from them that says they billed my medical insurance because their doctor decided to treat me as his patient because I have glaucoma. I have an ophthalmologist that I see twice a year. I don't need a doc-in-the-box treating me for me condition. Lenscrafters main office didn't like me posting their name on here and asked me to contact them. Well guys...I have contacted you! Numerous times and you don't call me back. Your contact lady at this office finally promised to call me once I reached her and guess what? She dropped the ball and never called back. You guys have my number...call me. I purchased my glasses at Lenscrafters in Jacksonville, but due to problems getting them made on time, they had to mail them to me. No problem, I took them to Lencrafters in Gainesville to be adjusted. The girl was very friendly, adjusted the glasses and sent me on my way. They immediately hurt very badly. Due to a very tight work schedule, I kept wearing them until I could go back to Jacksonville. NO WONDER. Gainesville had the nose pieces sitting on the EDGE so the dug into my nose! Did she Not know what she was doing? Was it because I had not purchased my glasses from Gainesville Lenscrafters? Or did she not believe me, thinking I had purchased them somewhere else and was lying and just wanted a free adjustment? Well, she caused me 3 weeks of misery and now I wouldn't go there to buy glasses for any reason even though I work in Gainesville.
