Dr.Quinn is a phenomenal physician, however, since…read moreoffice management has changed it is obvious that they now value profit more than patient satisfaction. I have both health insurance and Humana exam and materials vision insurance. My exam today was an annual exam to get prescription updates for both glasses and contacts. This is covered with a $10 copay with my vision insurance. I did agree for "additional" tests which I was told would be scheduled a few months later which would require the use of my health insurance at that time. However when I left my visit, without having the "additional testing" which I was told would cost $65.00 at a later date, I was presented with a $127 copay, and they used my health insurance instead of vision insurance. I didn't purchase contacts/glasses- and did NOT agree to any additional testing other than what I was told would be scheduled at a later date. Quinn eye center office mgt. chose to use my health insurance instead of my vision insurance adding one item (which I had NOT previously agreed to not been informed of cost) claiming they were "saving" me money. When I attempted to resolve this issue, speaking with both Christine and John Michael, I received 2 different rationales for this cost. I cannot recommend an eye doctor who charges a $127 copay for annual eye exam when the patient has vision insurance that would cover these items with only a $10.00 copay. After appointment, I called my Humana vision insurance representative who indeed told me that both contact and eyeglass prescriptions are included in their annual eye exam with only a $10 copay. It is very sad because we have been loyal patients for years. I CANNOT in good conscience recommend them any more.

I showed up to my early morning appointment around 5 minutes early, it took me about 50 minutes to be taken to a room. The older nurse who got my initial information was INCREDIBLY rude, as if I was the one who was an hour late. She proceeded to be extremely rude to me (smirking and rolling her eyes?) and dismissive about my current glasses prescription, and acted like it was an inconvenience just to speak to me. She then dilated my eyes without any warning, and left me in an extremely bright hallway with no explanation or glasses to wear. I have never had an eye exam before, so this was pretty jarring and uncomfortable. I can't even imagine what it would've felt like if I hadn't had someone with me. We then waited ANOTHER hour to be taken to an exam room, then waited another 45 minutes for the doctor to come in. The doctor made no effort to understand why I was there in the first place, the vision symptoms I'd been experiencing, and he and all assisting staff acted as if I was a great inconvenience to them once again. Do NOT go to this place if you can help it. If you do, be prepared to meet the rudest staff members you'll find at a doctor's office. I can't imagine ever treating my clients like this. To top it all off, I received one of the largest bills for an exam I've ever had, all for the most useless appointment I've ever experienced. Seriously, save your time and money and go somewhere else.

I selected Gainesville Vision when I needed a new eye doctor based mostly on two factors: for one,…read moreI wanted an optician on site who offered Oakley brand frames and secondly, I asked a client of mine who is a physician herself what eye doctor she recommended. She said her family comes to Gainesville Vision. I have been only pleased and highly pleased at that by the professionalism and service of the doctors and their staff here. The eye exam was thorough yet quick and the doctor was very good about answering questions for me. I am involved in a variety of sports so this presents specific concerns (and also is why I insist on Oakley frames because they're about the toughest in the business). What type of variable tint would I need for soccer in bright sunlight or should I just get separate Rx sunglasses? When I am platform diving, I obviously take off my glasses so is the instant transition from corrected vision to uncorrected and from sun-filtered to not something to worry about? Other doctors have seemed unable or unwilling to really delve into specific sports-centric vision issues with me but this one did, and did so gladly. She was simply excellent. When I came back to get the frames I selected when the glasses' lenses were ready, the technician involved was equally professional. When I ran into some issues with these frames playing soccer weeks later, they had time for me again and ended up sending the frames back and getting news ones which worked better at no additional cost. I never felt rushed or like I was causing an imposition for anyone here but instead that they take all the time necessary to ensure each patient's needs are completely met. Very impressed with the entire business.
