This place is not easy to find, but don't give up. It's in an office building--difficult to find in a plaza of office buildings, but there are a few signs which point to Lena's kitchen--follow them! I read several of the reviews before arriving , but didn't look at any photos. We were quite surprised when we walked in. This restaurant really looks like a diner inside an office building (go figure!) My mom said it reminded her of rams horn... I went against all the amazing breakfast reviews and decided to get the kale salad--my mom got the goat cheese omelet crepe and we shared the onion rings. I'll try onion rings anywhere they are offered! The onion rings were delicious...you know sometimes you taste old oil & no onions...this was opposite! I really liked them with the honey mustard dressing & if you're an onion ring fan, get them. The kale salad was really good. They ran out of their house made champagne vinegaratte, so I went with the house made ranch (great choice--very delicious)! The food is good as far as the recipes but low quality ingredients. They get quite crowded weekend mornings but don't handle it well. Too many long family style tables and not enough 2 seaters. They have become militant about ALL GUESTS BEING THERE or they won't even take your name. They have signs all over the lobby and at the host stand reminding you. The hostess is quite rude about it. Servers get orders wrong often. I mean I get it you don't want a four top taking up space by two people when you have a wait but that's the business. Find a nicer way to handle it. on the guest side if I'm meeting two friends and I arrive first why can't I add my name? Everyone can't all arrive exactly together. After reading reviews of Lena's for a while, I decided to try it. First, it's in an unlikely place: inside an office building in an industrial park. It's a good thing that they have a large sign outside, because there would be no way to find it if you weren't setting out for it. The restaurant is right inside the entrance at the side of the building away from the street. It seemed odd that their waiting area is the lobby of the building. When I got there, there was a 20 minute wait. I was hungry, but decided to stay. They came out and announced some people's names, but they did not do that for mine; I happened to notice that people who came in after me were being called before me. Turned out that they somehow crossed my name off the list! But, when I asked about it, they apologized profusely and sate me right away. I knew what I wanted because I'd read the menu before I got there. I had the sweet & savory French toast -- a sausage, bacon and cheese omelette stuffed inside 2 pieces of French toast! It was stupid good. I ate about half of it and took the rest home. It would be good if you could choose the omelette that goes inside, though; I might have rathered something with mushrooms or vegetables. But, the meats are a good complement to the sweetness of the French toast. The staff was very friendly, and some were dressed in holiday attire. I love the spot so much! This is the best brunch place that is close to us. Their staff are WONDERFUL. The menu is vast and you can get anything you'd like with substitutions - all kinds of sweet and savory crepes, pancakes, eggs, toast, lunch items- you name it. It is open during the day only and does get pretty busy. I'm giving it 4 stars because the space, while it isn't small, given how busy it is and how many tables they have, you do feel like you're pretty close together to everyone else there, which can be hard when you're out with children. read more

We decided to try this place and omg it was sooooooooo worth it! We came for brunch on a Thursday and it was poppin. Definitely was a good sign. Its your typical brunch ambiance. Lots of clattering of silverware and people chattering. We were promptly sat and couldn't decide what to get with all the incredible menu choices. Our server was very attentive as well as I think what was the owner's Mother frequently checking in on tables. People constantly coming around to warm up coffees too. We were never waiting on service for anything. We were both so impressed with the attentiveness and of course the food! So so so yummy. My sweet & savory stuffed french toast was so piquant. Just no words. Literally some of the best comfort yet innovative breakfast food I've tasted since moving to Michigan. The cheddar cheese in the sweet and savory stuffed french toast is such a nice touch compared to american cheese. Definitely my favorite! My mom ate the monte cristo and she loved it as well. I wanted pancakes, which she said I could sub for the hash browns not the toast... which made no sense to me. I did it and then ordered a side of hash browns which were an entire plate full. Def got your moneys worth. In the end I got two pancakes but no toast... so hence docking one star. But the pancakes were very good! Similar to the cupcake pancakes at IHOP. I got the cream cheese frosting on the side but it was super good, as was the vanilla drizzle. Fluffy, flavorful and good texture. Hash browns were pretty standard but nice and crispy. Overall, very good. I would come back. Update: Made the trip back and I was a wimp and got the same thing haha but the pancakes were even better today! The omelette wasn't as impressive... I don't think I would get it again. My bf got biscuits and gravy and the west coast crepe. It was HUGEEEE. I can't say enough about this place! The owner is usually there and she is awesome and very personable! It's obvious that she loves what she does and she loves to make people happy. I wish I had taken a picture of the back wall where she has a bunch of decorations that speak to my heart about being happy. The service is always friendly and fast, the food is always hot and the presentation is very well done! Now, the food! There are plenty of creative choices, healthy choices and traditional choices and every single thing I have tried so far has been amazing! Got the Philly cheese steak which was decent but paid $3 extra for fries and soup but received absolutely NO soup in my order. This is my first time ordering from this place and I'm honestly disappointed in the service because after calling the restaurant to inform them of the discrepancy in my order, all they said was that they're not serving soup during the pandemic or the weekend. Okay, that is fine. But please tell me why the menu still includes the soup option and why was I still charged extra for something I didn't received. Overall, I'm upset by the lack of clarity of this restaurant menu rather than the food itself. The sandwich is good and although the fries were a bit dry, they were decent. I understand if you cannot serve certain items during this pandemic but do not charge me more for something you cannot provide or at least tell me that when I order rather than giving me that excuse after I call into the restaurant. read more

Today I plan to go to the other breakfast restaurant. But we didn't make it as that restaurant was closed for the day already. So I found this place which is on my bookmark for a long time. Lena's is inside an office building. I have a doubt if this place is good or not. But with all these good reviews, I thought it wouldn't be too bad. So we went in. The restaurant is quite full when we arrived, but we still able to get a table. We ordered the western omelette and the Two egg specials. Both come with the harsh brown and toast. The omelette is yummy. The harsh brown is crispy but not greasy. I ordered the coffee too. The coffee is good, but of course not like the one you get from the cafe. The toast is only okay. I ordered the Rye. And usually rye is a heavier bread. But I don't think this bread is heavy. And the regular white bread is not even good. Service is friendly. The food comes out pretty fast. Although we still like our first pick better. But I think we will come back as it is close by, and their breakfast is better than a lot places. read more

It's in a spot in the bottom of an office building, and as a result misses out on the cozy feeling you'd expect from a restaurant like this. It feels less like a nice brunch spot and more like a cafe you'd find in a hospital lobby... Moving past the general ambiance, and onto the food! The menu is interesting and has pretty diverse options. It seems like the sweet items on the menu tend to be a big hit among customers as they are done very beautifully and look delicious. That said, as a Keto/ Low-carb dieter myself, I didn't really find much on the menu other than standard breakfast fare, so I ordered an omelette with a side of bacon. No complaints about the dish, it was done just fine, but kind of bland overall. It wasn't anything special and wasn't really what I'd expect from a place I'd heard such great things about. The wait staff was very friendly and prompt about taking orders/ bringing our food out, so that was a nice component of our visit to Lena's. The thing that got me the most was that we ended up having to wait 20-30 minutes to be seated for a restaurant like this... I'm a huge eggs Benedict fan so I had to order this plate and wow it broke my expectations. Huge portions. I, as a 6'3 man with a big appetite, had trouble finishing. The hash browns were also delicious. Usually a lot places don't do hash browns rights. Not Lena's kitchen. Soft, warm and perfect amount of crunchiness. Everything you want. Other plates I tried we're the kale salad which was absolutely delicious. I usually don't do salads but I loved the sauce on this salad and freshness. The chicken tenders and fries were good too. Full bodied chicken tenders and fries. Now on to the sweets. Crepes, red velvet french toast. OMG absolute explosion in my mouth. The center is filled with a creamed that almost made me cry from how delicious it was. Nutella covered pancakes!? Incredible! Just finish me off now please.
