Wifey and I were pushing it! It was moments till 5 PM and we had let time get away from us but needed a couple of little things for our beloved "Sasha" the cat. Staff here is simply outstanding; they were not concerned it was moments till 5 PM (Closing) and effectively assisted us, without feeling rushed, to find what we needed and even helped us with a spontaneous additional purchase. Sometimes the weather is too cold to bathe the dog, so today I paid a visit to Lemos Pet Store. After a long day of play at Rivers Edge Pet Lodge, Mila was in much need of a bath. Located to the rear of the store, Lemos offers two ample sized bathing tubs; for $15.00, you get shampoo, towel, waterproof apron, air to dry the dog , no time restriction, and the best part the warm water. From strong armed sales people to employees giving nutritional advice with no scientific background, I absolutely do NOT recommend this place. All I wanted was to browse for some treats for an older dog who needs a nutritional boost. Instead I was followed around by an overly enthusiastic sales person, hell bent on pointing out every treat in the store. When I told him I was not interested in any grain free treats, I got a snort and lecture by another employee who decided that the fact that she had been selling them for years was enough proof that there was nothing wrong with them. Ok then! Plenty of people smoke cigarettes too but pretty sure they aren't good for you! What happened to good customer service? I am pretty sure arguing with a customer is not what Nordstrom's would do. read more

We had just picked up our chicks from Dare 2 Dream Farms yesterday and they told us to come to Lemos for the basics that we would need. The prices were great, customer service was AMAZING and the people were all so friendly. The moment I walked in, a man asked me if I needed help with anything and I told him what I was looking for. He walked with me around the store efficiently and showed me the items that I would need. When there were choices to be made about which feeder to get, he discussed the difference and actually pointed out that the less expensive one would be perfect for me. I really appreciated that since it would have been easy to upsell me. As I was checking out, I asked a few questions about the lamp and the two employees were helping to teach me about how to adjust the lamp and why the red lamp is better for my chicks. It was such a cozy and welcoming store. At the end, the man helped me out to my car with a large box of the pine shavings. It was such a delightful experience. :) Thank you!! read more

I recently had a frustrating experience at Lemos Pet Store. Despite the helpful advice from my vet, an older woman at the store insisted her opinions were superior, leading to a heated argument. Surprisingly, I learned Lemos apparently employs "vets". Additionally, the decline in customer support, compared to the excellent service I received since I had been going here in the past couple years, is disappointing you should have to pick and choose what employees to work with unfortunately the women you employ seem to have a far greater knowledge then even the customers. read more

Awesome place! Doggies welcome! The woman working here was so loving to my dog and attentive to anything we may have been looking for. They have healthy, high end food and tons of things/toys for your cat, dog, fish and beyond. Clean shop with so much choice. We left happy, purchasing some wet dog food and treats. Then we later found extra treats thrown into the bag by the same nice lady that checked us out. I highly recommend this place if you are a pet owner local or on the road with your pooch as we were. Lots of parking, located in a strip mall surrounded by lots of other shopping opportunities. We will be stopping in for sure every time we find ourselves in Lompoc. read more

This was far by the worst experience and last I have had at Lemos. The lady working the register I think her name was Briana. She was rude, uneducated, short, and snippy with me. She was barking orders at her coworker. I ended up leaving and going to Petsco and getting what I needed. read more

Traveling through the area and after a trip to the beach our little guy needed a bath. The folks at PetCo couldn't fit us into their schedule. However the Petco crew told me about Lemos do it yourself wash stations. We were not disappointed. The place was great! Friendly staff and very clean facility. Having recently moved here from Santa Barbara, I was disappointed to learn that none of the workers help carry your heavy purchases to your car for you. In SB, they never even ask if you need assistance in that manner - they just take the purchase - if it's heavy - and automatically carry it to your car & patiently wait until you have a spot ready to place the heavy items(s). And since it's on all of their commercials that they do this for you, I was really disappointed that this "benefit" isn't done at this Lompoc store. Many of their items are heavy ( pet foods, cat climbers, etc), & being in the "service" business; with the ad stating that this is an automatic service, the fact that they don't do this doesn't give honesty to their claims of carrying out heavy items for you. Wish they'd do as they claim to do. read more

I've been into many stores where the employees are disinterested and uninformed on their products. This place is NOT like that. Every time I visit they're happy to help, and are well informed about any products I've ever asked them about. They offer a wide variety, even for exotic animals. I wandered in and they had almost everything I needed and it was easy to find. More than one staff member asked if I needed any help which was awesome but I was just kind of poking around to see what kind of treasures I could find. I did have questions on dog food bc I couldn't find the brand I was feeding on the east coast and the gentleman who helped me was super knowledgeable and was able to steer me towards a comparable brand. You cannot beat their selection on more exotic pet items and although they may not be cheaper than Petsmart or Petco you have more knowledge provided to you and customer service than you would ever at a place like that. Lemos seems to have gone downhill in customer service. I came in asking for a large bag of PUPPY FOOD. The man I asked acted as if it was such a problem to show me puppy food, and Immediately I was directed to the MOST EXPENSIVE ADULT DOG FOOD in the store. Adult food. Adult food is not food for a puppy. No, it was not all life stages either. Petco has much better food for better prices, with people who actually try to help you. read more

I have to commend the staff for their exemplary customer service! I went in to purchase flea control, and to schedule dental cleanings for my dogs. I was originally impressed that the staff suggested the best deal on the flea control, and also mentioned the current sale on dog treats. Then, for the dental appointments, a contracted service needed to be contacted. The staff handled this promptly and efficiently, and it required several phone calls back and forth. It is clear that Lemos is providing great training for their staff, and that they follow through. read more
