The rice was good, um. I got the garlic rice that was roasted and there was chicken in it, carrots, and peas. I could taste the garlic, it was really yummy. Rice just came out of rice cooker and everything was mixed together and not fried on a wok. Not my favorite dish: Portion was big and had to take the rest home. Went here the other day with decent expectations since all the yelp fans pretty much like this place. And after ordering and tasting our dishes, those expectations were met. Here's a few things I tasted: - Thai Omelet: I had a Thai Omelet in another town before and loved it, and wanted to try it here. Different from an American omelet, this is deep fried, I believe, crunchy, and when paired with some rice, has a great taste to it. They serve it with tomatoes, cucumbers, and a sweet sauce, which I didn't have before, but it was a good combination to match the oily fried egg. I got this with shrimp, so there were little pieces of shrimp in the omelet. Just as good as I expected it to be. - Pad Thai: I tried some of the pad thai and it was a lot sweeter than I like. I've had a lot of pad thai before, and this was one of the sweetest that I've ever had. It kind of had a strong ketchup like flavor to it. I probably won't order this here next time I come - Pad Keemao: A pretty decent, safe dish. In my opinion. Noodles with assorted vegetables in it - Gra pow: the gra pow was good (with a fried egg in it .. and not just a normal American fried egg. This was kind of weird. It looked similar to my omelet. Maybe it was a deep fried egg???. Anyhow, it was good. :)). However, this dish has a LOT of basil in it. The basil taste takes over the whole dish. So if you don't like basil, definitely don't get this. - Pumpkin Curry: Had a bite of this, and it was delicious! May try this next time. read more

Despite high Yelp ratings, I had low expectations from this place but I must say I was a bit pleasantly surprised. This was our first meal in Quad City. Crispy Duck: Breaded and fried pieces of duck and comes with veggies (broccoli, carrots, bell peppers). This was very good, tasty and well...crispy. Watch out for bones. 4/5 Bento Box (served from 11am-3pm): For $10 you get soup, Vietnamese spring roll, Korean slaw, mixed fruit and your choice of meat. You can get shrimp for an additional $1. You can get pineapple fried rice, gra pow rice, pad woon sen, pad keemao, LemonGrass Grill chicken or steak OR pad thai. I tried the LemonGrass Grill steak and it tastes like a cross between teriyaki and Vietnamese grilled beef. Soup of the day was good - had cilantro, lemongrass and small pieces of chicken. The spring roll was delicious with the peanut sauce. The Korean slaw was like kimchee but not quite fermented for 100 years. This place is very high quality, they could be in the biggest of cities and be in a top spot easily. They really have something special here. So to start off their pho is delicious, not their special but they have it. Big bowl with both steak and meatball in it. If your a pho fan your good to get some here. Their entree dishes and appetizers are amazing. The eggrolls and rangoon are served with the best dipping sauces, these are some of the best that I have had. The entrees all have a unique flavor to them which only can be found in quality places, not the store bought sauce here. I do suggest trying something new each time, you will have favorites but everything is worthy on this menu. Well run place with a great ambiance inside, it has all the features of a nice date night place with a good price that won't bust your pocket. Believe me they could easily charge another $5 on each of their dishes and it would be worth it. read more

AMBIANCE: I loved the vibe and decor so much here! Very modern and clean and a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. They had huge pictures and menus which I think is sleek. Wooden tables and floors. Plenty of individual seating, group seating, even bench seating. All around good! LOCATION: I'm not familiar with the area but it looks to be in a centralized location since its surrounded by lots of other varieties of foods including Italian, Indian, and American that I could see. Free parking in the back and also front street parking. SERVICE: quick, friendly, accommodating. These ladies were authentic Thai I believe, if I was distinguishing their language correctly. Either way, it's run by Asians but the restaurant itself has a very nice modern American flare. FOOD: I ordered a kimchi noodle soup. I guess the heats getting to me cause this will be the second bowl of soup I've had today. I'm hoping this one will have a good kick! Portions are big, well it looks big because of the beautiful plateware they have at least. The soup was delicious! The noodles are not what you expect. Not your traditional long thin noodles but rather thick and short noodles (the size of a wine cork). And instead of being numerous in noodles, it was about 8-9 chunks, which I really appreciated cause that meant more soup and proteins. The kimchi was good and the spicy was perfect! The pork belly could have been a touch more tender but that's me nit picking. Overall, I hope I get the chance to come back through and try out another fish! PRICING: food here is a bit pricier than what I would normally pay but I'm traveling and hoping to enjoy good food, so why not?! Entrees ranged from $10-13. Appetizers $5-13. The food is always tasty. Just be warned if you say anything about the spice level such as "medium but not hot" or "just a little spice" they will think you want to drink from satan's flamethrower. I love a good endorphin rush so I always step up to the challenge and weirdly enjoy the experience. Also if you go on the weekend wait times for food to arrive can be longer than expected since this place is typically jammin. My wife and I love this place and we typically have a great experience. What a phenomenal place! Not only do they have amazing Thai food but they are Covid safe. Great spacing on the tables and even plastic partitions to separate you from other diners. I love the spicy basil noodles although they're called some thing else. You just have to ask them and they will direct you to the menu item. So, this place just WORKED! I got to Moline early evening, for a class on Rock Island the next day. Needed to get some food in da belly, and a Yelp search came up with LemonGrass Cafe. Within walking distance! Asian! Rated highly. YESSSSSS!!! I ordered the Pad Keemao with shrimp, which for me is pretty "out there". I love, love, LOVE Korean food, so I tend to order Korean items whenever offered. Just can't help it! But the Pad Keemao was AWESOME! Such good, spicy flavor, but not SO spicy that I had trouble eating it. Just the right amount. For me, anyway. If you're in the area, this place deserves your visit. read more

Pretty much the gold standard for Thai food in the Quad Cities. They also own Miss Phay and Exotic Thai on the Illinois and Iowa side. We usually order a combination of Poor Man's Noodles, General Tso Chicken or tofu, Buddha rolls, and pineapple fried rice. We have ordered beer and cocktails for delivery too. The Thai tea is also refreshing. They are currently take out only due to Covid but when dine-in was an option, service was always good. read more

My friend and I walked in and we were immediately greeted by somebody. They were loud, clear and nice. I ordered beef bulgogi. This is based on my only visit here and this particular dish. It was served with white rice, lettuce, and some kimchi (love that!). The dish looked good but it came out as beef cubes which I wasn't expecting. The meat didn't have much flavor but it had some sauce under it which provided the flavor. Without it, it was pretty bland. I asked for some hot sauce which the edited brought it 3 different types: homemade Sriracha looking, giardiniera look a like but had a strong citrus taste, and jalapenos. They were all good, my favorite was the Sriracha looking one. Service was good, plate was hot, place was clean from what I noticed. Parking is easy to find. She they said their goodbyes as we walked out, kudos. All in all, I wouldn't say this place is amazing as I'm from Chicago. But it's a good place, I recommend a visit as it's worth a try. read more

Absolutely amazing. This place exceeded my expectations twice. Seriously, I live 2 hours away and I think I'd make a road trip just to eat here. This place is the bomb. Visit 1: Thai and Korean and it doesn't get any better. I tried the pork belly Moo Krob Agra Pow and the lemongrass soup. The flavors were amazing, super tender. Visit 2: Thai dirty rice. OMG This place is killing it. I'm talking over the top good. I love SPICE - I'm talking ghost peppers, scorpion peppers... HOT. I ordered this dish with Thai spice level heat. The hottest they make! Let me put it this way, I had to throw the towel in. I was pouring sweat off my head, if you like it HOT - take it as a challenge. This is legit Thai. I'm on business down here and will for sure hit this again, again, and again. I would argue that if you like Asian food this is THE best restaurant in Quad cities. The service even when busy was outstanding, beer selection was great! I have to say that as far as Thai goes I've tried quite a few places and thus far this is absolutely the best. The inviting staff at Lemongrass Cafe was the stand-out in my dinner experience. I was checked in on at the beginning, middle, and end of my meal, which was very attentive. I was expecting very authentic food because of the offerings on the menu, but I thought it was Americanized, though that isn't criticism towards the food since I still really enjoyed it - just expect more more sweet and savory and less spicy. Based on the server's recommendation, I went with gra pow pork belly, which is unique because it's a dehydrated meat and has a crunch to it. It was well balanced with vegetables. The texture of the pork belly is between jerky and meat eat so I would have liked my usual chicken better, but this was something different to try.
