I was pretty excited about dropping in here. The reviews seemed good but I should I read them and not just gone with the 4 1/2 stars. We paid $52 for 3 dishes, 2 lunch specials and an order of orange chicken and we were just disappointed. The pad Thai was small and had little flavor beside the tamarind. The mild gra-paw fried rice had no spice and the rice was on the sticky side (a little overcooked). The orange chicken was not crispy but we still liked the flavor but for $18, it was a very small portion. Customer service was good. Order was done in 15minutes even though the restaurant was full. The food is SO flavorful, not and fresh. The environment is well lit, pleasant and clean. Price is mid range but no problem with this as the quality is very good. Waitress is prompt with taking orders and refilling drinks. Parking on street is sparse but there is a lot behind the building with easy access to the back door. We came here during a volunteer event to get some lunch. It was amazing! The best Thai food in the quad cities. The larb is definitely not served how some of us have had it before but it was still good. The dirty rice and coconut soup was absolutely phenomenal. Open tables, but would not seat us as a party of two at a four top table (because those are for larger parties!!!). Told us 5 minutes wait for a two top. Very generous portion, which was appreciated after biking 60 miles earlier in the day along the Hennepin Canal. Took my takeout to Wake Brewery and paired it with their nice ESB (Wake Sink Fast-Let Go; brewed with Sichuan peppercorns). The next day, I was going to go for lunch but they were doing some work on the kitchen and weren't open. Will go again if I'm ever in Moline in the future. OK. This was just okay but I concede I'm spoiled when it comes to Asian food given (1) I'm Asian and (2) I travel quite a bit and spoiled by Asian eats everywhere. (1) Server was nice but messed up MY order and I waited around an extra 15 minutes to make me the wor wonton soup. When it finally came out, it wasn't what i expected. Wontons were very DRY ground white chicken. Would have been better if they were pork. Noodles were meh. Broth was bland. The server did NOTHING in terms of the inconvenience and basically blamed it on me ordering the "wrong thing". She insisted I would have liked something spicy. When I told her I'm not a fan of spicy, she looked at me like I had two heads. (2) Hubby did enjoy the very saucy yakisoba noodles with tofu. He ate the whole bowl. (3) We both enjoyed the crab rangoons and the orange dipping sauce. (4) Good list of alcohol choices. Hubby enjoyed his cherry bomb IPA from a local IOWA brewery. (5) No desserts. None.
