Well, they're always open that's for sure but too many times I come in and I get the General's chicken and there's very little meat in it and it's all stuffing and then when I check out the lady puts her hand on the scale like that old saying, they put some on the scale not cool Plus it's against the law to have a scale that doesn't tell you how much your pain it works. They tell you that it's broken but it's not it works. They just don't put it on so they can cheat you. Unfortunately that's what they're doing and I told them to their faces that they're cheating me so I'm going to stop coming here because I'm sick of being cheated and if you're sick of being cheated, eat somewhere else or make them fix the scale so that you can see the price and what you're buying some people buy a lot of food in with them playing games like putting their hand on a scale when it reads it, come on the act like we're really stupid a lot of Chinese people act like Americans are very stupid. The food is average but always warm and attended to often enough to keep things fresh. I wish there were more vegetables & vegetarian options. I hardly ever see anyone cooking at, or making use of the stir fry station. The service is light: drinks/refills, take your dirty dishes, deliver your bill after 3 plates. The decor is cute and the fountain nice. The bathrooms are pretty clean too. However, my most recent visit was a little disappointing due to drinks that had a moldy after taste. We both had iced tea and I feel like the lines hadn't been maintained properly/bleached. It's the usual Chinese buffet fare, except they did have some dishes I don't usually find. Coconut chicken was good, peanut butter chicken (crispy on the outside in a peanut butter sauce) the sushi was limited but I don't come to a Chinese buffet for sushi really. The egg rolls were good, I've been to some restaurants where they were virtually tasteless, but these were pretty good. I'd definitely come back, and the price wasn't terrible. read more

Probably one of the best Asian food buffets that we have visited. From Downers Grove to Kenosha to Sterling this place has always had hot and cold fresh food with a huge variety. Fried and cold boiled shrimp, teriyaki chicken, sweet sour pork, hot sour soup, great egg rolls and spring rolls, usually a vegetable (green beans), and of course you have to have ice cream. Been here with my wife, son and his family and everyone got what they wanted and the price was fair. We'll be back for sure, you should go here too. read more

The food was so cold,barley look warm. And from what I did have, it was soggy . The place wasn't busy so I guess they were not switching out the buffet pans. I didn't eat but 3 bites, and left after 5 min. Plates still full, and obviously not touched, waitress new something was wrong, she said let me get the owner, I spoke to the owner quietly and discreetly with respect, cause I didn't want to cause a scene, He was immediately rude and Defensive, He thought it was still fair to charge me $35 . Even after seeing we didn't eat. I did say I didn't think that was fair but ok, he said "you have to pay, but I'll give you a credit" after I paid he handed me a gift card and smiled and said here is $5 for you , you can give it to someone you know" wooooow that was slick! Stopped here for dinner on a Monday night. The decor was inviting and for once light piano music was playing which helped create a more relaxed mood. The salad bar was clean and the food cold. The shrimp were on a bed of ice and firm not mushy or over cooked. For my dinner I chose to make my own creation which included beef, chicken, mushrooms, onions, been sprouts, jalapeños , broccoli, hot chili pepper sauce, and Mongolian sauce. They cook it over a huge circular grill and it comes off steaming hot the way I like it. There was a great selection of other typical items on a Asian Buffet which was well stocked and looked inviting. They had great desserts and even several different selections of ice cream you can help yourself to. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and the service and would return again. read more

I didn't expect much, and I got what I bargained for. The salad bar had a lettuce mix but virtually no other fresh vegetables. The salad dressings and other condiments were not labeled and I put ketchup on my lettuce, mistakenly believing it to be Western dressing. Why they put ketchup in the same type of container instead of a pump is beyond me. I will say that the fruits were fresh and plentiful. The entrees seemed to be all a mix of fried hodge-podge or coated in indistinguishable sauces. As a person who tries to eat reasonably healthy, my choices were limited. I didnt see labels on any of the food items, leaving me to guess as to their contents. My husband later told me that there were labels, but likely i couldn't see them due to my height, as they were on the glass above the food stations. The sushi was of the grocery store or food court genre. I did not notice the stir fry station until we were leaving, or I would have preferred to try that option. I don't believe I will return solely to try that, though. I wouldn't return based on the quality of the food, but the service was good. We were seated quickly, our plates were cleared promptly and drink refills were offered frequently. read more

This place is good from inside and out. It's very well maintained. We like it. There's not a whole lot in their lunch selection compared to other Chinese buffets but the food is fresh. They see to it the trays are constantly being replenished. At some point, they see to it that the serving utensils are replaced, adding to the cleanliness of the place. People are nice. The attendants are attentive. Price is reasonable. We'll be back. read more

This was a pleasant surprise in Sterling. I had seen this place many times, but am often afraid to try buffet places I am not familiar with. Luckily, Asian Buffet is pretty decent. We went around 330pm on a Sunday (not exactly the busiest time), and the food was fresh and plentiful. Yes, the sushi may not be the quality of, say, Bangkok Gardens in Dixon, but do you really expect a $10 buffet to offer THE MOST AMAZING SUSHI EVER? I certainly had low expectations, but the sushi was adequate...and I liked how they have 6 or 8 different types of sushi to choose from. That's more than most other Chinese buffets. Other than the sushi, the entrée dishes were various and the selection was large enough for even the pickiest eater to find something to eat. All in all, I was pleased with the experience. For $10, it really can't be beat. I didn't try the grill, but hope to next time. read more

Well let's see, it's a buffet and for this area it's pretty typical buffet style set up. Three or four rows of fairly processed imitation seafood and salads along with quite a bit of fried foods. There is not much in the way of soups or cold salads. They do offer sushi, however I am not very familiar with sushi so I would have to say it's just OK. They do have a couple of nicer option though. First is the Mongolian grill and the chef does a nice job. A couple of other nice additions is the frog legs which aren't bad and the shrimp, skin on of course. Would like to see an adult beverage menu but no such luck. It's going to run you about 25 bucks for two on the dinner buffet and that includes kiddy drinks and 5% tip which is optional. read more

Two of my friends and I make it a tradition to eat out once a week. We've been looking forward to the Asian Buffet opening for quite some time now and have been there several times in the past few weeks. Excellent food. Well prepared with, in addition to a wide variety of Asian buffet treats, the choice to have Mongolian Stir fry and/or sushi. I love the decor which goes well beyond the typical Asian restaurant. The wait staff are courteous and right there when needed. There's plenty of parking available and even during the first week when the new place was rather crowded there was no waiting since the place has several dining areas with lots of seating. Prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend the Asian Buffet. read more

My boyfriend and I ate here for lunch the first time today. We went right when it opened so everything was hot and fresh, and we thought it was very good food! I loved all the chicken dishes, mostly the spicy chicken and black pepper chicken. Both were delicious! They have a really good salad and fruit bar, so I made sure to eat lots of fruits and healthy stuff. All the fruit was fresh and tasty. I loved the stir fry bar too. It was really cool preparing my own plate of raw meats, veggies, and spices then watching a guy cook it all in front of me. Everyone who works there seemed really nice. Our waitress was attentive, the host at the front counter was very friendly wishing us a great day as we left. I've been to buffets at dinner time before (not here), and it isn't as good. We always go first thing. If you want a good buffet experience it has to be planned early in the day. At least from my experiences. read more

A Chinese buffet with standard offerings of rice-based dishes which are palatable. Avoid the American fare - greasy and/or microwaved. Nice variety of fresh fruit at dessert bar. I would love to try the Mongolian grill they have but there seems to be no one manning it each time we've visited. My wife and I went here for the first time tonight. First off, we are vegetarians and the lack of vegetarian options was disappointing, especially for the $25 total bill we paid. I just moved away and still crave their peanut chicken. My wife is pregnant and it was all she wanted. This place was really good and for the price, it can't be beat. The staff is really nice and the atmosphere is excellent. They have a little pond inside with little baby turtles that we loved. Even though I was only in town for a couple of months, I eat there often. I heard it took a while for the place to be renovated, but it was well worth it. The next time I am in town, I am for sure going back. They had everything from sushi, Mongolian BBQ, Chinese food, frog legs, and a great selection of deserts. You can even stop in and buy a to-go bag and fill it up, which I also did a lot. Before we left, I even stopped in to see if I could buy the recipe for the peanut chicken, but they would not give it to me. It was that good. The place has a ton of seating, which was amazing, because it fills up fast and always seems to have a lot of people in their, but they kept all of the food hot and stocked, so there was never any time when something was running low or out. read more
