However, 3 out of 5 times, our order is messed-up; which requires a trip back across town to remedy the situation. It seems when we have the time to check our order before leaving, that the order is correct, but every time we don't, the order is messed-up. We understand that mistakes happen, but having them happen so often is very frustrating. Last night, after having to hold the clerk's hand through the ordering process, (he seemed untrained, or *if* trained; hadn't retained the information. The process was slow, riddled with errors, and just excruciating ), a burger was missing from our order upon our return home, and we were also given the wrong size of side. We were in a hurry last night, and of course, didn't check our order before leaving the restaurant. So, back across town we drove to have the order fixed. After so many mistakes in the past, my fiancé was fed-up and her energy wasn't the best upon our return to Culver's. There was no swearing or screaming by my fiancé, just frustration and a terse tone from having to return to the restaurant so often to fix their mistakes. The manager decided to match that energy and the exchange I witnessed between she and my fiancé was pretty unbelievable. The sticking-point was the wrong size of side. We had ordered a large several times through the ordering-process, but received a medium. Upon checking our receipt, we'd only *paid* for the medium, but my fiancé felt the upgrade to the large should have been comped, considering the wasted time, gas, and these mistakes happening way too often. The manager felt differently and insisted upon charging for the upgrade, which would have been ok, if her energy about the situation had been better. She seemed more offended that my fiancé expressed that the clerk initially taking the order was untrained than she was making a mistake on a $50 burger order. She was snarky, argumentative, and after seeing her deal with my fiancé like this, I just stepped-in and requested a full refund; which was given without hesitation and with as flippant of an attitude as I've ever seen from someone in management dealing with this type of situation. I was wowed by the entire exchange. So, now, instead of the buck or whatever that Culver's may have lost on the upgrade, they've lost $50 in business every Friday, because the manager couldn't check her ego. That's EXACTLY what the issue was. She was rubbed wrong by my fiancés energy, and did nothing to de-escalate the situation. In fact, she seemed to be happy about making things even worse. In our careers, one mistake can get us fired. We understand that everyone is on edge now, and are as tolerant and understanding as possible with people, but these mistakes happening so often and having the manager so apathetic was remarkable. This girl shouldn't be managing anything, and we've made our final Friday night run to Culver's. I'm sure another local restaurant will appreciate the business and even get our order correct.
