Ordered online. That was easy. Yet, once I arrived, I learned the product I wanted was out of stock. The employee showed concern, and the manager came to the drive through window. She profusely apologized, but how can one complain about the situation?! She asked if there was another choice I'd like. I did, and the order was ready very quickly. McAlister's Deli isn't cheap, so one should expect a great meal. Unfortunately such is not the case. I ordered two French dip sandwiches for take out, got them home only to discover that the sandwich buns were hard and burned and so was the meat inside, along with that the cheese was cold. It was too far to drive back and their wasn't time to wait for them to make new sandwiches. I called to complain and waited through some ridiculous automated announcements and then it took 5 minutes for someone to actually answer the phone. They gave me some ridiculous excuse why they couldn't refund my money. These people could care less, once they got your money, it's tough crap and the corporate office tried to smooth things over by trying to give me rewards points which I sure as hell won't use because they'll never get a nickel's worth of business from me again. read more

We've eaten at a few different McAlister's around the country and this was, by far, the worst of them. The staff seemed friendly enough, but they moved around as if the last thing they wanted to do was make and serve food. This may have been the slowest service I've ever had at any restaurant. The food was fine, no complaints there. After we finally got our food, a guy came in to pick up an online order that was supposed to be ready for pickup. We were nearly finished eating before he got his online order. This place needs management and employees that care about customer service, or they won't be around much longer. read more

I accidentally melted my tumbler in the dishwasher and I was using it to get 99 cent refills. I called this location and asked them if they still sold them so I could replace mine and they don't, and now they won't honor my 99 cent refills anymore since I can't use the cup and now the price is $3.09 (i believe) plus tax for a drink. Definitely not worth the wait. No idea what was happening at this place today but 45 minute wait. This is a deli, you place your order at a counter. It's not like they wait tables, it's literally soups, salads and sandwiches. Food was just ok. BLT with avocado and Caesar salad was just ok. Lots of unhappy customers tired of waiting and getting their money back. Even noticed people backing out of the drive-thru. Hopefully they get it figured out. The service was terrible, I stood in line where the workers talked nobody seemed like they wanted to take your order, Then when we finally got served waiting for my food. one of the employees heavyset gal that served us and had long braided hair would pop into the Back where they were preparing the food, she was actually eating at the same time she was helping prepare the food then she came around and delivered it to a couple and their family. First time ever at this chain and I was very impressed I noticed it because of how crowded it looked around lunchtime in this location so I figured the locals must know. First visit to this deli drive up. One car ahead of me, I ordered a turkey sandwich, salad and coke. Waited over 20 minutes for food. If I hadn't already paid I would have left. Sandwich bread roll was dried out but maybe it was forgotten under a heat lamp. Potato chips were in sack instead of a salad. I was thrilled to get out of there so potato chips were acceptable. We came with a group of 9 church... not enough people working for the amount of customers in the restaurant. Line almost to the door- one cashier so we waited almost 20 minutes to order, get up to place our order and were told it was going to be at least 30 minutes to get our food. Not a good first impression!! One person in our party suggested because she eats at one in St. Louis and highly recommended it due to the awesome service. I've loved eating at McAlister's in other states for years, so I was excited to see that there would be a location in the Quad Cities, and near my office. But after four separate visits - with a mix of eating in and carrying out app orders - I'm giving up. Service at this location can no longer be overlooked as "growing pains" for a new store. Likes in the restaurant are seemingly always long. The staff looks unorganized; the front counter workers frequently are having to correct mistakes with orders with the team in the back, and several employees up front haplessly alternate between wandering with plates to deliver and refill duty - while doing neither efficiently. Regarding online order pickup, it is unclear where to stand once you arrive, or if your order is in the works. There is also no way to ensure that your order doesn't sit behind the counter getting cold once it is finally ready. (Typical experience - you will have to harass someone between tasks to grab your order to hand off to you.) The food is fair, but not stellar. But the turn-around time is just unacceptable for a lunch break, especially at this price point, considering that Panera offers a similar menu and better execution nearby. read more
