Because of that, I always thought I'd continue using their services. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was the complete opposite. Brandon is no longer with the company, and the new technician who came out not only attempted to overcharge us but also expected us to help with the work. It was disappointing, to say the least, and based on this experience, I won't be using American Shredding again.

They entice you with misleading claims (e.g. Free pickups for businesses) only to let those promises go unfulfilled by indicating that home-based businesses don't qualify, and aren't worthy of their time and attention. Newsflash: A larger and larger portion of the American work force is shifting to the Gig Economy meaning a very large portion of these businesses will be home-based. I would recommend using Green PC, or one of the other local e-cyclers in the area.

Was able to schedule the same week which was a bonus. Their truck shreds in front of you (not just document pickup and off-site shredding) if that matters for your application. I was there on a Monday afternoon and was told that it would be ready on Wednesday. They said I could pay extra and have it done immediately, or wait for them to do it, which would make it ready on Wednesday. I didn't need them immediately so I said Wednesday would be fine. They said keep an eye on your email because if they're done early, will let you know. I didn't receive an email so I went there on Wednesday afternoon to pick them up at which time they told me they were not ready but I could come back at 7 PM and they would be ready. I decided not to go back that night at 7 PM, but I went the next morning around 8:30 AM and guess what they still were not done. In fact, they hadn't even been started yet. So I had to wait and the young lady behind the counter did the project for me. I asked to speak to the manager, whose name was Shawn. I explained the situation to him, and he proceeded to tell me that it was my fault for expecting them to be done at the last minute?? I told him I didn't understand because I came in on Monday and they told me I could pick them up on Wednesday not that I said I needed them by Wednesday. He told me there is never a set time when projects will be finished; you just have to watch for the email that says they are finished. I feel like if I waited for an email I would be waiting still to this day. That manager, Shawn was absolutely useless and had no customer service abilities. Mind you I wasn't asking for anything from him, just letting him know the situation. You can imagine, I will not be back to this location or probably any location for this kind of need. Moving forward I'll most likely find another place that can do the job in a timely manner.
