We didn't meet Garrett of Aderyn until the morning of the wedding, and that didn't present a problem. Garrett is incredibly responsible/reliable, very organized, well-prepared, talented, experienced, a clear communicator, and a good listener. Based on email exchanges and one or two phone calls, Garrett got a good feeling for what we wanted and delivered in spades. I've been to weddings where the videographers were obvious and super distracting and clunky with their lights, equipment, and filming. Besides speaking up a couple of appropriate times when they needed to collaborate with us, we barely noticed Aderyn was there, which was great because it let us focus on each other and our loved ones. Aderyn truly did a fantastic job with everything: capturing the emotional moments and the highlights, presenting the day from different angles and points of view so that it felt like a whole, multi-layered story, and top-notch post-production editing. Aderyn was able to capture and relay the intangible parts of that amazing, happy, once-in-a-lifetime day and preserve it all for us. Many friends who saw the sneak-peek trailer said it seemed like the trailer to a movie they wanted to watch. It was the highest quality. I hired Garrett from Aderyn as a VERY last-minute wedding videographer, and he really came through…read more I was trying to keep costs low since I squeezed this into our budget very late, but I wanted to have some kind of tricky audio stuff recorded for posterity. Garrett went out of the way to coordinate with my DJ and make sure all the systems were on track to record some slightly hard-to-capture moments. He also coordinated with my friend who is doing all the video editing work, and went out of his way to make sure his equipment and file type met her needs. Garrett was prompt, friendly, fun, and is even putting together a customized highlights clip as a bonus! He also sent me an MP3 of the song my composer friend had custom arranged, which he caught while our string trio was rehearsing -- it was a better-quality clip since you can actually hear it instead of just people clapping/yelling during the actual ceremony, so it's a really nice bonus for us to revisit. All in all, Aderyn was affordable, flexible, responsible, and showered us with little bonuses -- totally a great blend of exactly what we were looking for! I would highly recommend these guys for any wedding!

We met with Ashley several times prior to the wedding. Ashley, my wife and I all "clicked" from the moment we met over Facetime. While we were considering several very skilled photographers, we went with Moments and Mountains because we thought we'd have the most fun with Ashley. We were right. We had our engagement session at Powell's Books in Portland, Oregon, on a busy Friday evening. In the photos, it looks as if we had the entire bookstore to ourselves. I am an extremely awkward person who is uncomfortable with public displays of affection, and I tire quickly from being on camera. With Ashley as our photographer, we forgot we were on film and just had fun throughout. After the engagement session, Ashley helped us plan, create a timeline for both a rainy day and sunny weather, and prepare for the big day. Additionally, Ashley found a "second shooter," who was equally skilled in her photography craft (THANK YOU COURTNEY!) On the wedding day, Ashley was the stalwart to our mental health, helped keep folks on time and organized, and captured the perfect moments. She made sure we had every special photo we asked for, went through our family formal list with a fine-toothed comb, and consistently checked in with how adventurous we were feeling re. locations for photos (it lessened throughout the evening). In addition to the staged photos, Ashley captured candid photos of our guests and the most important people in our lives in special moments, while dancing, while taking space in the garden, and while looking adoringly at their spouses. While we got every photo we asked for, and so, so many more, Ashley prioritized our ability to spend quality time with our guests.
