But what you really need to know is I moved into a new house with a disaster of a backyard - it was full of random old bricks, tiny pebbles, and the corpses of about ten -thousand lantern flies. Those little pebbles I mentioned - man - they were everywhere - and were sort of cheap stone you might expect to find at the bottom of a fish thank rather than sprinkled about your yard like a badly decorated cake manufactured by a kindergartner with free reign of the confectionery cupboard. Alas - such was my yard. And I wanted it fixed - bad. I brought in all kinds of troops. Old friends with big debts to pay who I hoped might do me a favor, family with construction business experience, and even a half dozen landscapers and contractors who all promised the world tied up in a pretty pink bow that would fit right in my backyard. I can do a good bit of construction myself, and like I say, have the soldiers to rely on should I need a hand.
