After visiting multiple auto shops I kept receiving such entirely different explanations for what was triggering the particular diagnostic codes and huge variations in what services would need to be done in order to fix the issues, that I almost gave up. As a young woman, I am well-versed in the stigma of dealing with employees in male-dominated service industries. Most women would rather go to the dentist than to a repair shop with the anxiety of possibly dealing with rude, snarky, dishonest employees. Not only did it not make sense that I was getting such different information from the service shops, but the manner in which I was treated was downright degrading. My family and friends told me to bring along my boyfriend in order to get up front and honest information. I explained that people can end up overpaying for services if they don't understand what's wrong with their car or the repair. This to me is unacceptable - I should not have to have a male standing beside me to be listened to, let alone actually HEARD. I did one more search and found BHC AUTOMOTIVE (which was only 6 minutes from me), and thought, "well, ill give this one more try". After replacing the "Secondary Air Injection Valve" as well as the "Fuel Pump Assembly" (NOT EASY WORK!)... Chris came out, inspected my vehicle and it's issues. And he left, told me "He's never seen one do that before and he'd have to think about". The next thing I know is Chris is clearing his schedule for a couple of days so he can thoroughly go through every wiring harness, relay and computer. After a couple of days of intense inspection he figured it out! The PCM had an internal short so it wouldn't ever throw a "Check engine" code. This guy is Good! If you're in the RDU, Wilson, Cary, Knightdale, Clayton or Wake Forest areas don't hesitate to call! He's mobile so he'll come to you!
