We were searching for empanadas and came across this gem! Map had a hard time finding but we got there, clearly a new business. Great indoor seating space with an outdoor table. We walked in to one employee who was very helpful. Upon making our decision 3 more people walked in. Employee greeted everyone and had great customer service. Sweet and savory options available. You can purchase and eat there or take frozen! We did both. We purchased the spinach, peach and beef. All were very tasty!

I spotted this place while we need to get fuel! I came here for a snack. I got their Maria which the filling is beef, mushroom, and caper. Breakfasts, ham, potatoes, and cheese. And lastly dessert blueberry empanada! All three were good and came with a few sauces! I would like to try other if my stomach allow me. The only thing I would say is that the filling is great and fills with ingredients. But mine was a bit dry not juicy. But still tastes really good!

We've been meaning to come to Leila's after seeing it talked about on our neighborhood page and finally found a time when we were over in that area, so we decided to stop in for a quick snack. Love having small businesses in our town! The GPS misrouted us (because the dirt lot in front of the building isn't an official turn), so we just drove back behind and to the side of the building. There are signs pointing you which to follow to the entrance. We received a very warm, friendly welcome and started looking at all the options. There was a really good selection of choices and I like how there was both sweet and savory available. We went with the Philly for our savory and the Apple for our sweet. We also grabbed a Diet Coke and a Guarana, which is a Brazilian soda, from the drink fridge. The empanadas were both incredibly delicious! It was just the right ratio of dough and filling. They weren't too toasty or undone. Super flaky and could be eaten by hand but they were served up hot, so we used forks. Definitely made with love and care. The Philly came with a oniony, peppery, mushroomy, cheesy kind of sauce. I could be misrepresenting the ingredients (it isn't listed on their site menu) but it captured all the traditional Philly cheesesteak flavors. The Apple one came with this crème brûlée sauce which was almost like a thick, melted ice cream that just went perfectly with the cinnamon apples. They also have fridges with take home empanadas and desserts. Next time, I have my eye on the Oreo filled one!

Phenomenal empanadas. Great flavors and eating two is filling. Location is tucked a ways back but it is worth the effort! They also sell 5-packs frozen for a discount. Sounds like they opened late 2024 - everything looked clean and smelled fresh. Will be back.

    Deliciousness!

Was in the Anthem area today and noticed they have a new empanada place. They were delicious! Tried the pizza empanada and the pulled pork. The owner was so nice and came to talk to us. Very clean place and great service. Highly recommend

I read about Leila's Empanadas in a local magazine, so I told myself next time I'm in the area I'll have to stop by. The location is a bit hidden but there is a big sign "Open" that's outside so it helped me find it! The empanadas OMG SO DELICIOUS Beef one was juicy and full of flavor and the with caramel - YUM. I'll be going back soon. Service was fast, I took it to go in under 3 min

Ate one of each empanada and one of each dessert!! Fantastic

For $16, you get four mixed empanadas of your choice. That's a good deal, I think. But, the empanadas were on the smaller side. The owner was very friendly and informative and let us know these empanadas are made in the Columbian style. She also mentioned she lived in Mexico for many years and learned to make empanadas the Mexican way and combined some of those flavors also. The empanadas I had were all very tasty and I liked the salsa verde that came with the empanadas. I had the traditional (had a kick to it) and arroz con pollo. I gave Sherpa the calentado and chorizo ones, but no report back if they were good lol. My only gripe here is that the empanadas were a little more greasy than I usually like. On their website and in photos, they say their empanadas are air fried, but I think I recall seeing oil fryers outdoors yesterday. I try to keep fried foods to a limit as I don't always feel great after eating a greasy meal. And I have to maintain a svelte physique, just kidding there. Diabetes and heart disease run in my family, so I am very mindful of what I put into my temple. I also ate these after climbing as there is no way I could have had these empanadas in my stomach prior. Also interesting is that the vegetarian and vegan ones were kind of food color green. I guess you need to be able to differentiate them, but the color was off-putting. I'd give this place another try but would prefer baked empanadas. I love empanadas, just please hold the grease.

We noticed on the map that there was a Cuban restaurant a mile away so we had to go! It's in a relatively abandoned strip mall and If you drive too fast you could miss it, I'm not sure you can even see it from the street, you kind of have to know it's there and MAN do people know!!!' By the time we left it was hopping! Lots of regulars you could tell. Staff was very nice, restroom clean and well stocked. Ambiance? Cute island minimalism! FOOD Had to start with the empanadas which were soo good and great flavor in the meat, I LOVE Cuban sandwiches but have failed to find a halfway decent one in Arizona. When we were in Miami and Key West I ate my weight in Cuban sandwiches so that's my gold standard! This one is just as good if not better! Advised it was big but we each ordered one anyway and big is an understatement they were huge! Roasted pork delicious and juicy, ham and Swiss. Just the right about of mustard not to overpower it and the right amount of pickles to also enhance but not overpower the flavor. The Cuban bread DELICIOUS! For 12 dollars it was two meals and a small snack for me. I'd say that's a heck of a deal ! We are already planning a trip out west to go back !

They had upbeat music playing that gave the last touches to the place. The hostess was nice and so was our server. The menu was pretty easy to read and lots of options. They had a full bar as well as some mocktails which always brings a twinkle to my eyes! We started off with the plátanos with some crema and cheese and they were good. We decided to eat empanadas and so we ordered one of each, we enjoyed very much but the shrimp empanada was our absolute fav. The only thing I wish was that the potions were bigger, we had to order a few rounds of empanadas before we could fill up. For dessert, we had the empanadas (again, I know) with banana and coconut ice cream... omg so so delish! The food was good and so was our experience, they did ask for us to leave after chit chatting for a while since our table was reserved for someone else which I found odd since I saw plenty of other open tables but anyway, eye on how much time you spend there but other than that, it was a pleasant time, I must add, that it is pricey, so keep that in mind if choosing to eat here!
