This is the first time I've written a bad review on yelp or had reason to; usually when I have a problem I take my issues to the source and deal with it and even if I don't get 100% of what I want I feel that my issues are at least addressed and taken to heart, however not in this case. But I feel it's fair to warn others of the poor customer service and lack of skill at this establishment. My daughter and I decided to get our nails done on a whim and the usual places we frequent were very busy on a Friday so we stopped in here, we are no novice to nail salons and the normal expectations. There was no wait which we thought was good however it was a sign we should have went somewhere else. The nail color choices were slim but we found a color both of us liked. When we sat down I felt hot and the manicurist put a fan near me (so nice!) thus the one star. My water for my pedicure was cold and I was not asked if it was appropriate temperature, I was not asked if I wanted callus removal or massage (maybe they do not offer these choices?) All and all I felt like my pedicure was just a polish change with little to no filing. Not good not bad just, meh. If this review were just about me I would have never made a complaint I just would not have gone back. BUT.... My daughter sitting next to me wanted acrylics and a gel manicure; she also asked for a hand painted design (but was discouraged from this and instead they wanted to use decals so she opted for no design, not a big deal just a fyi) The lady who was doing my daughters nails spent most her time on the phone arranging pick up of her son from school and talking to neighbors that would be caring for him. and not listening to my daughter who several times; politely said that the nails looked uneven and thick. She was told "they can't be perfect" we did not expect perfect just uniform. She felt uncomfortable making a big deal about it and did not feel comfortable telling me that the manicurist did not fix the issues she brought to her attention until we we on the way home. We went to dinner that night and without telling people that she was unhappy with her nails several people told her that the manicure was terrible and if they were her they would go back to have them fixed. Two days later she got up the nerve to go back and ask for the manicure to be fixed. She was made to feel like she was the problem and they told her she should have said something when she was in the chair (which she had several times). She was told again that her nails could not be perfect and they filed them a bit more; she again said they were uneven. She was told that was all they could do. So she left; frustrated with horrible nails. She made her way down the road to Bamboo nails to where they fixed her nails properly and made her feel welcome and told her that the manicure was poorly done. So she had to spend another 20+ dollars to repair the manicure we had just paid for, very unprofessional Legend Nails. If you have had a great experience here fine but this is just ours and you can decide for your self. read more

My wife just came in here after her face was burned and requested a refund. I am technically a customer and I was pretty shocked so I needed to comment. She clearly had scabs on her face from where her skin was burned/ripped. When my wife came in the owner first said she would only do a partial refund because the rest of her wax was ok. After my wife insisted she gave her the refund for the service but NOT the tip and said "Ok if I refund you but you dont come back!" After my wife came back I went in to allow her to explain this behavior. Unfortunately, I could not understand half of what was being said. What I did understand was she tried to blame my wife for not pre-treating her skin for the facial. So I continued to ask her why you tell a customer to never come back when she was injured by their business. She replied, "because I am scared". Well, it was too difficult to discuss the situation with the language barrier so I just left. If I was the owner of a business, I would apologize, offer to pay for the treatment, and make sure they were taken care of. Otherwise, you are at risk for being sued and getting fined by the State Board. I wouldn't kick the customer out of my store because they simply requested a refund. I am seriously scared that a place like this is offering services where a customer is injured and they cannot accept full responsibility. I have read some of the other reviews and it seems that if you like the service, fine, you are safe. But the second you complain about something or something goes wrong, that is where this business gets scary. Just read the other complaints here and you will see. In my opinion , this place is NOT WORTH THE RISK. If they had simply provided an apology and refunded our money promptly, I wouldn't have had to come here to inform you of how we were treated. read more

Don't push back cuticles. Poor nail shape. The clear nails you see here were such a disappointment. My left hand ring fingers shape is so off from almond shape I had before. She didn't even file these fingers. She didn't ask me how many butterfly's I wanted then at the end charged me $5 for 3 and packed the nail full of them. You can clearly see that my right hand butterflies are poking out of the gel. The nail is NOT smooth the butterfly stickers are poorly placed and I can see and feel the sticker outside the gel. Execution needs improvement. $42 for this set, you get what you pay for but I should have paid less for this poor outcome. The lady is kind, doesn't ask if you like or how you like things so make sure you constantly tell her what you like or it will not be done ex: (length/shape/cuticles/amount of gem placements and correction of where before they are cured) why is is so hard to find a good nail tech! read more

By far the worst pedicure I've ever gotten. My nails were cut extremely low and crooked. The paint was messy and a lot on my skin. When I asked to have her take some polish removed to get some of it off my skin the lady acted mad and was very rough. I left with polish on the skin on my other toes, not up for arguing. When I commented about how one of my big toenails was very crooked, she went on a rant about how my nails were misshaped when I came in - when in fact they were perfectly fine to start and she cut it down very low at a sharp angle for some reason. The scrub/exfoliation part of the pedicure lasted about 5 seconds per foot with no pressure. No skin was trimmed around my nails. This was an awful waste of money. No wonder the place was empty when I walked in. read more

***i updated my review after having the nails for 1 week and 1 day. From not pushing the cuticles back and chopping the skin my skin started peeling. It's been 2 weeks now and it hasn't stopped. Definitely would not recommend due to the lazy work. read more

I am new to the area and had no idea where to go to get my nails done. I'm the type that likes the job to be done right and not sloppy. I spent some time looking for a place close by but since I didn't know anyone out here I just took a chance after reading a review about Legend Nails. This place was absolutely fabulous. I called ahead and asked if I could make an appointment. They close at 7pm and I knew that by time I get off work and get there, there is no way I would get a full set, pedicure and wax in 30 minutes. The lady told me that was okay because if they knew I was coming they would stay open. I got there right on time and was there for abuot 2 hours. The girls were fabulous, they did not rush to get me in and out, they took their time, the service was excellent. They are very relaxed and friendly there and it is family owned which makes it even better. At the end, I not only had a fresh manicure and pedicure but I walked out with suggestions for restaurants and places to try out in Phoenix. I love this place. Bao always takes her time with me. Picks out the right colors for me and always has great attention to detail. They use great products. I can go almost 4 weeks with a gel manicure before needing a new one without cracks or peels. She is available when my schedule allows. Kim does my wax and is on point every time with my eyebrows. Friendly, average price but not happy with results of my nails. I mentioned them bubbling and fuzz getting in the polish but she reassured me the gel top coat would fix it. Of course it didn't but by then I'm sealed in and being given my total without even asking if I was satisfied. So I paid, tipped and left. I wish I could give this place zero stars. The employees are extremely rude, and the pedicure I got was the worst I've ever had. The lady that did mine talked on the phone loudly the whole time and she cut my cuticle so bad that I started bleeding. She left nail polish all over my skin around my nails and she didn't use lotion or even finish my pedicure, she just got up and didn't look at me again. There also bugs all over the ground. I always go to Bao at Legend nails. The salon is clean and She does an amazing gel mani and pedi. She uses quality products and my nails last 3-4 weeks even though I'm really rough on them at work and the gym. She does my daughters' nails also and they love her. I wish I lived close enough to have my nails done by Bao and my waxing by Kim. I have never been to their salon before, nor had I ever met either one of them. I've never been treated so well at any nail salon ( and I've been to MANY all over the U.S. & abroad). Not only did I leave the salon with the BEST mani-pedi and waxing EVER!!! But also I feel I've made 2 special friends. My husband and I had just driven 7+ hours from CA to attend a family function on Saturday. It was 7 pm Friday night and I needed these services. We stopped at a salon on Chandler close to our hotel and were kindly told that they could not take me (even though the sign said OPEN). I'm so glad they turned me down...because I went across the street to Legend Nails. It was after 7 by now and their sign also said OPEN even though the hrs of operation listed closing at 7. I asked if they could help me and they said they would if I was willing to wait 30 minutes. Of course I was glad to do it and I thought at least I'd get help for my nails. I supposed they would rush me in and out. Was I ever surprised! There were 3 other young ladies who had come late and hoped to get an appointment. We were all taken care of! They brought us bottled water while we waited. Bao is a beautiful, intelligent, delightful young woman with a great sense of humor not to mention a perfectionist. I've never had anyone give so much care and time getting it right. (A couple of my nails are defective but she would not stop until she was satisfied that they looked good.) The whole time I was getting to know her and enjoying her company. She was making me laugh. It was amazing how so gracious and kind this mother/daughter team were. Spending time with Kim was equally refreshing. We chatted about our families and life's challenges and in doing so, I learned that she is a devoted friend, very smart and a generous person. I appreciated the time she took to get my arms waxed well (I have hair patches that grow in the opposite direction that usually get missed by others). I was impressed and so I asked her if she would also do my eyebrows and lip. She told me that they don't like to pressure clients for services and even though she saw that I needed them, she refrained from a sales pitch. That told me that she was also respectful. Kim is very much Vietnamese which means she is direct but if you look past the cultural difference which sometimes causes us to incorrectly judge personality, you will find that Legend Nails is the best choice. I wish them success and health and blessings beyond their wildest dreams. Thank you ladies...you made me feel so pampered.... Oh, I forgot to mention...Kim, thought I gave her too big a tip and she wanted to give me back a portion of my tip which was no extravagant to begin with. I think they should change the salon name to A CLASS ACT because there is no doubt that they are classy ladies. read more

Do not go in to this nail salon the lady was rude and yelling at me in front of a little girl and her father!!! I wanted my nails taken off, they were mostly off just a little at the top I couldn't get off myself, but didn't have time to get them painted and said I would be back later that evening. She was like it will only take 15 minutes to do gel manicure. I've never had a gel manicure in 15 minutes and that was concerning so I was hesitant. Or u pay 5.00 for take off "nothing is free" her exact words. I had planned to come back later but instead of pay the 5.00 I decided to get my nails done despite my time crunch and agreed to her 15 minute gel manicure. After I said ok fine, she stormed up from her chair and said " you wasting time talking this could have been done, you say you have no time but your wasting my time " I then told her she was being rude and I would gladly leave. She started yelling in front of the little girl and her father. "You leave then, you wasting time, " and kept yelling and yelling and causing a scene. I had to ask her several times not to yell in front of the child and stop causing a scene while I waited for her to run my card for 5.00!! I will never go back here, she also said "you have never been here" like I'm not a regular ... She's right btw I'm new to the area and looking for a nail salon. Do not go here. Especially if you have children. They will do your nails if you do not bring your children. Been in the cosmetology industry for over 20 year. And I am appalled that now this is the third time when I have asked if I can come in for a service there response is I can do it if you have someone to watch your children. Costumer service at its lowest pretty much here I will take your money but do not want your children with you as you are paying for a service. If I ever said that to any of my costumer's I would not expect them ever to come back. I am a cosmetologist and have been in this industry. My children have grown up in this industry and have been to many nail salons NEVER have been treated this way anywhere else. I am not one to write a review but I feel this needs to be known for future costumer's. As I know this girl is young and does not have any children but you are in costumer service field and this is how you treat people with children. I tip over 20% weather you have done a good job or not I am in this profession. Sad how this nail salon operates. As I was reading the reviews I clearly can see why they are rated the way they are. I have been getting mani/pedis here for the last 5 years. Bao and Kim are a fantastic mother and daughter business owning duo! I feel like family. Bao is so informative about all the new techniques and products for skin and nails; and a master at picking the color you didn't know you really wanted! She really knows her stuff. My nails always look great. Kim is always full of stories and has a very soft professional touch. Bao's dad always has a welcoming smile and is great at pedicures.
