My furnace stopped working during the night. Mid morning I called and they had one of the most professional technicians who's name was Keith come out within a few hours. I was not expecting them to be that fast. I am so glad I found them and read the reviews. All were very positive so I felt very secure calling them. Our AC stopped working. The Nest thermostat display told us that there was no power to the "Rh wire." On a hot Friday in July, I didn't have high hopes of getting someone to come out. I saw many good reviews about Legend Air, so I called. They were pleasant on the phone, understood the issue, said they could be here TODAY, between 12-2pm. Ron arrived at 12:40 and got to work. Troubleshooting didn't take long; we needed a new pump on the unit. He had one in the truck, and we sat and chatted with him while he worked. He was pleasant and efficient, and about an hour later all the work was done and the AC was cranking. We settled up and he was on his way shortly thereafter. I wish every service technician was as knowledgeable and friendly, and that every service call was as enjoyable. Not that I hope I have more HVAC issues, but it will be my pleasure to call Legend Air for all our future needs. Too bad I can only give them FIVE stars! read more

I couldn't agree more with another reviewer's comment about Legend Air: "Not many companies like this one around anymore. Everyone should use them!" I recently signed a yearly maintenance contract for my 10-year old HVAC system with a different HVAC company. The service guy from that company came and tried to sell me a new unit costing thousands of dollars, predicting all kinds of dire scenarios this winter if I didn't replace the system. Instead, I decided to get a second opinion and reached out to a friend who recommended Ron, the owner of Legend AIr. Ron came and inspected my system yesterday and assured me that there is no need for replacements. In fact, he felt confident that it should be functional for the next several years!! Ron, unlike a majority in the industry, believes in repairs and not just replacements. He is clearly very knowledgeable and skilled in his work. I should mention here that I shared with Ron the other company's report before he even began inspecting my system, so he had every opportunity to prescribe expensive replacements if he wanted to. So thrilled that we responded to a call from Legend Air Heating and Cooling from Woodbridge New Jersey. Actually we made an inquiry on the internet to compare two different brand air conditioners. Soon after we were bombarded with calls from various HVAC companies. The last one we received and we responded to was from Ron Miller, president of Legend air. Luckily for us we allowed him to come over immediately. He was in route to South Jersey and he was passing by our exit on the turnpike at that moment. That is why I allowed him to come over. Fortunately we listened to him and felt very comfortable. The other companies we had in here wanted to sell us a new air conditioner. Ron suggested we try to fix this one and if it didn't work he would take off the price and then sell us an air conditioner which was at least $1,500 less than the other quoted machines. We felt very comfortable with Ron. The good news is his technician came over today, one day after meeting him and filled it up with Freon and sealant and looked at my other air conditioner for efficiency. We think we will be able to save this air conditioner for at least another few years and not have to spend a huge chunk of money at this time. He was honest and stood by his word with everything that he did for us. His technicians are Keith and Mark. We met Keith this morning and he did a great job. I can't recommend Legend Air enough, they are the most honest helpful contractors we've ever used. Keith usually does our annual gas furnace maintenance and he is wonderful. He explains everything so I understand it ( which is hard enough), offers helpful tips and never tries to gouge us or sell us anything we don't need. At first, I thought Ron was a very nice and was very thorough with a problem I had with my central air. Due to an issue with low Puron, he thought there could be a leak and put flourescent product in the AC to determine where the leak was. He also did an opening service. I paid him $411.95 and when he returned, he told me I had a leak in the expansion valve. He said he would order the part, would take about a week, and the cost would be about $800. After a couple of weeks, I called Ron. He said they never called him about the part but he would check and call me back. I waited another week. I called again. He never called back. So, I would not suggest using him. He does not follow through on his commitments which certainly makes me wonder about the quality of his work. I don't think he should be HVAC oked either! My problem was not the expansion valve. It turned out to be a much bigger problem. I had a puron air handler and a freon unit in the attic. The company that sold me the unit screwed up and put in two incompatible units that the next technician determined fairly easily. I would not recommend this company at all!!! read more
