    Brownstew chicken and jerk chicken
    Shreya G.

The Brownstew Chicken was really good. Sweet, soft, and perfectly cooked. An expert source said the jerk chicken was the best they've had in the area, and it tasted like it too. I also loved the candied yams and plantains. I want to try all the other saucy chickens. 10/10, $11 Not pictured is a beef patty that I loved biting into, but apparently its supposed to be more finely ground(ed) and I wanted more flavor. 6.5/10, $3.50

This was my go to spot until today. I spent $90 for two oxtail dinners, two extra sides and two red velvet cakes. The cake was great but the oxtail and greens taste like it was bad. They've increased the price but cut the oxtails thinner. Food had a slightly burn taste as well. Won't be back there.

I absolutely love their food. I use to live in Raleigh, NC and came to visit for a friend's bday. I lived here when they first opened up. They started at the Supper Club in raleigh. Years later the food is still top tier! Still the same setup, service still great, nothing much has changed and I love it. I wish I could go back now and order more but that's a long plane ride! I'm missing the food already. Happy to see them still going!

    Pork Chops

Pork chops were okay. They were over fried. No as well seasoned as I would've thought since it's a Jamaican restaurant. Nice portion sizes. One side comes with two pork chops which wasn't mentioned on the uber eats app so I ordered two and got four pork chops.

9/12/21: It's our first time here. We were trying a few different items. I was personally craving candied yams & there was no other place around. The restaurant is very small. Only about 3 people can go in at a time. More could get in if there wasn't someone selling unrelated items to everyone that walked in the door. The service was ok. The food was another story. The pork chop was a nice size, but it tasted sour like it was going bad before they fried it. The yams weren't as sweet as I like, but my family loved them along with the Mac'n'cheese. The pound cake was dense & bland. We paid a lot to not be satisfied. I don't plan to go back, but my family probably will.

Jerk Chicken Macaroni & Cheese Plantains

Amazing food, they have a food truck that we ate at in down town. I got the spicy jerk chicken with plantains and Mac. The ambiance of the truck was southern Jamaican and local. The service was very friendly and incredibly fast.

Turkey Wings (smothered) with white rice and Mac n cheese

Since they're only letting 4 people in the restaurant at a time during corona it seems like every time I drove by this place there was a line. But since Lee's Kitchen is so known and popular in Raleigh and I've never had it, I had to give it a try anyways. Let me start off by saying ubereats and the Lee's Kitchen app both miss a lot of menu items (turkey wings, beef patties, etc.) so if what you want is on there you're lucky but we weren't able to order ahead because of this. The food is really delicious, decent prices, big portions, and hot food. We got turkey wings, white rice, rice and peas, veggies, oxtails, and Mac n cheese. We enjoyed all of it and finished our plates! The veggies is pretty much just cabbage and the Mac is super good. You can get the turkey wings baked, grilled, fried, smothered, etc. but they said the two most popular were smothered and fried so we did smothered. The only complaint we had was that the turkey wing plate didn't have a lot of rice (we thought there'd be more under the wings but it was just that corner.) I'd definitely come back here and get the same thing or try the curry goat. They also have a large variety of different fruit juices and drinks! I definitely see why everyone likes this place.

This place has some really authentic and good Jamaican food with just the right amount of Soul Food in it. One of the best Jamaica food spots I have had, tasted like it came straight from Jamaica.

Foods getting worse by the day There's no love in the kitchen. You can tell there has been a shift the need to get a staff that are like minded and have a passion for food and family

I hate doing this to black owned businesses but I have to be honest. For $30 I was not satisfied at…read moreall. I'd heart good things about this place and it did not live up to the hype! The meat really did taste as if it was refried or the grease was old. Definitely wasn't fresh. The macaroni and cheese was just noodles and cheese, no flavor. The yams were stringy. The turkey collards were the only thing I enjoyed. The "cake" was honestly a mini portion of a store bought pound cake. I felt totally ripped off when I could've dinned in elsewhere for a completely different experience for $30. The staff was very nonchalant when I introduced myself as a first time customer asking for suggestions. There aren't many designated soul food places in Raleigh and I feel like this is totally a missed opportunity and it's unfortunate because I drove almost 30 min each way just for them.

I kept seeing their fliers all around my job, so I decided to give them a shot. Their candied yams are DELICIOUS. I actually got their food 2 days in a row. Lol. The wingettes were not really fresh the first night & neither were the shrimp. I let that go because the yams made up for it. The second night I got a fish sandwich. It was fresh. My son liked their Mac-n-cheese. I will definitely go back!
