I chose this salon as my place to get my first perm done. My stylist was Min. He and another female…read moreworker were nice and answered all of my questions well. I was just really curious on what happens. It wound up taking ~4 hours where I got my hair washed, cut, primed, bathed in solvent, and then curled with the little rollers. I definitely felt cared for, but 4 hours is def a long time. I brought a book and phone charger in case I was bored. The salon inside, however, is extremely cold. I think it was like 62 degrees inside, and I got my perm done in the summer when it was hot (and I still felt that it was freezing). There's a bunch of stylists inside and people who help prepare the clients. For a digital perm, it was ~$200, and if you pay with cash, you can avoid the 3% credit card fee. They also do a traditional booking system where you call them and you get written down for an appointment on a paper book. Overall, I loved how my hair turned out. It was very luscious and soft, but I wish when I made the appointment, maybe there could have been guidelines of what not to do leading up to the appointment, same with post hair care especially for new timers. I wound up using a notes app of how to care for it. I wish I had more curls in my hair, but now I know for next time and how to ask for it to be styled. Great experience generally! This place is located inside of a busy plaza with lots to do, so if you're ever waiting on someone here, you can go to Teso or get boba/food/coffee -- any type of idle shopping!

Fast and efficient at cutting hair and coloring…read more I thought their color selection was limited, but good. They do try to get you in and out as fast as possible, so very efficient! The prices are comparable to most high end salons but the service is mediocre. I do think they stay pretty busy and that may be why I felt this way.

So...This is my Go-To salon in the Duluth area, primarily because of convenience. Also, the pricing…read moreis very reasonable! However, I'm getting to the point that I may try to find another salon. Why?? For starters, the general attitude here is not good. Service is not a thing here, and unlike most salons, stylists (I've tried 3 different ones so far) are just not that personable. In fact, one of the three stylists I've tried here cancelled on me not once, but twice!! Obviously, I stopped booking with her. I also sense that they're not even that happy being there. I could be wrong, but it's the feeling that you get from these stylists. Still, the general hair cutting has been good...though, in my case, it's pretty basic. Just a straight line! I've always tipped 20%...but I'm starting to rethink this, given how the service is so minimal. On my last 2 sessions, the stylist barely said "Hi" to me. The place itself is pretty cool looking (in a grungy kinda way?), but I feel that the place may not be clean as it should be. I could be wrong here, but I've seen dust on their surface and arty structures. Also, I really don't like how they blow dry and comb your hair with their fingers. Not just a little bit while blow drying...but all throughout! It just feels a bit gross. I mean, who knows how clean their fingers are! I also hate the way they wash your hair. They actually have a separate girl that wash your hair (instead of the stylists)...and this girl is just not good! She has zero strength in her fingers...and I hate the way she even touches your hair! Possibly THE worst hair washing experience (experiences) I've ever had in ANY salon. I can't believe someone that's actually hired for this job (hair washing) does such a poor job! Despite liking the location and pricing, service and overall quality is always an issue. I may give it another try...but if my thoughts and feelings are confirmed once again on my next visit, I'll just find another salon in the area.

The hunt for a decently priced barbershop in Atlanta is a difficult one. Back when I lived in…read moreDetroit, among all the high end salons that offer men's haircuts, women stylists aren't bad, but they don't know men's hair. I found a specialized men's haircut joint that was purely one of the best in the area so moving to Atlanta made the search of that equivalent value rather difficult. So I did jump from place to place over the years till I found Scissorhands. I've been told by friends in the industry that Asian hair is one of the most difficult to cut so to roll into a place that knows how to cut this style of hair was a relief. They take walk-ins but you'll be guaranteed if you make an appointment because this place is POPPIN'!!! I've been rocking what is known as the Two-Block cut lately but places I've been to haven't been able to perfect it properly until I found this place and they do an amazing job! But rest assured, they can do a slew of other styles from the modern pompadour, the undercut, the French fringe (a la Itaewon Class) and a host of others. They service kids all the way to the senior citizen making this place very multi-versatile in what cuts they do. And ladies!!! Yes, they will perm, color, style, and do all you need to do to ensure you get the best look and are satisfied with the outcome! I highly recommend Scissorhands out in Duluth!
