Thankfully, a friend recommended N Vague and referred me to her stylist, Jan Di. I went yesterday and the service was excellent, as was the atmosphere and cleanliness. One of the my friends strongly recommended to try the beautician Hyun here at NVague hair salon. So I came to this place trim my hair. Unfortunately, that was best mistake I ever made (like Ariana grande) and if I can give them "0" star I definitely would like to do. I showed him the picture that I want to be get hair cut, and the result is totally different from the picture. (I don't even not sure he looked the picture at all) the front side bang was cut in really short, which was pretty shock to me. The length of right side bang and left side bang are different. he took 1 min to cut my hair and I was immediately sent to shampoo place. I was wondering he would take more time to handle my hair after I get the shampoo done but he didn't. Total 3 minutes of hair cutting, they charge me $35 for the service. Please don't wasting your money right here. Add: I complained him about the front side bang length. He argued me back that the hair is just same as like the picture. read more

First time customer here. Saw the great reviews had to try him out. My mother and father and I drove 3 hours just to come here to duluth and finally found a great hair stylist we can trust. He cut my hair great all the damaged ends are gone! And my mom loved her short hair style too. Overall very pleased with the customer service here. His employees do a great job styling and washing and drying here! Very fast and efficient. We will become his steady customers for here on out. The entire interior is very clean and new. Very pleased with the cleanliness. Prices vary but it doesn't matter as long as your hair looks good and are pleased with the work the stylist has done than the price is good. The prices he has are the same as the prices from my hair stylist in LA! So reasonable in my opinion! Highly recommended! read more

I decided to try out a new hair salon since my old go-to salon has went downhill due to new stylists and employees. Turns out that a few of the old go-to spot stylists moved to this location! I was happy to see that I can finally get a spot in with the owner. Its fairly new with upscale decor and with a large open space. I checked in and was told to go to the waiting area. The wait was about 10-15 minutes pass my original appointment time but I was entertain with the Korean edition magazine like Cosmo, Elle, and many others. After being seen, I went directly in the back area to get my hair wash. Something about getting my hair wash and massage made me wish it didn't ended or if it was just a service of its own so I can come everyday. Next was my hair cut. I wasnt a bit nervous and happy that my hair felt refresh and the cut was exactly what I wanted. That being said, I know where I'm going now to get my hair cut. read more

Ditto the other reviewer. I followed my hair stylist Hyun from Park Jun to his new place at Nvague (New Wave). He is great and always give excellent suggestions (especially when I want to do something new and perhaps not so wise). I live downtown so every so often I would avoid the drive and get my hair cut somewhere closer to home but I always come back to him (sometime to fix the disaster done by other hair stylist). This place was opened by my previous hair stylist that used to work at Park Jun. His shop is located in the plaza next to Plato's closet on pleasant hill. Nice and clean shop. He listens to what you want and always does a great job. read more

I was in town for Thanksgiving from NY and wanted to get my hair done. Its been awhile so I wasn't sure where to go, after searching on Yelp, I decided to give this new place a try. Now, before walking into the salon, the state of my hair was... bangs cut unevenly by me.. lol, hair fried by former extensive ombre bleaching and coloring over it, heavy hair for not giving a trim for past 6 months or so. The owner of the salon and the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I got my hair colored and trimmed. Hyun recommended what he thought would be the best for my hair type and gave helpful advice on how to take care of the hair. Overall, I am very satisfied of the outcome. I'd definitely recommend this place and would most likely return when I am in town in the future. read more

After all the wonderful reviews we decided to try this place and owner recommended the digital setting perm. We were pleased with the service but I have to give it ONE star rating. The digital setting perm cost $320!! We carefully followed care instructions for after treatment but after the first wash, the perm was gone. The hair went back to pre-perm state. We consulted with NVAGUE and we're told that hand/finger curling or rollers will required to keep the perm curls. For $320 paid, we feel very disappointed and do not recommend this place for hair treatment. Overrated and Overpriced. read more

I have trust issues when it comes to making drastic changes to my hair and going to Korean stylists BUT my friend recommended this wondrous place. I got my hair cut by the owner and he is MARVELOUS! I went in without knowing what I wanted, just that I wanted to cut off all my damaged hair. I got a medium/short length and he made it look so good. After a long web search, my husband and I came from Alabama to visit this Atlanta-based hair salon. Prior to starting, Hyun listened very carefully and gave us the exact haircuts that we wanted, along with a perm for my hair. His scissor work is amazing, and he explains very kindly what he is doing during each phase of the haircut and perm. He did a wonderful job, and his staff was very kind. My husband and I just had haircut over there today. Hyun did my hair and the other girl did for my husband. They both are very professional at haircut and price is reasonable. Hyun is very kind and patient, understands what I need and gives me very good suggestions. Considering their skills, price, attitude and other things, I will rate NVague much higher than Scissorhands, Pika Pika and Park Jun. I'm happy to report that I spent about 40 minutes fixing up Mr. Hyun's non-cut in front of my bathroom mirror, following techniques I've seen stylists and stylists-in-training apply over the years. After shearing off maybe two handfuls of hair, I can say that the cut was fixed! I'm glad I spent the time Mr. Hyun didn't---he spent maybe 17 minutes total actually cutting my hair. I have an interview tomorrow and I feel relieved and ready to face the world. My cut had a simple solution... some point cutting and reduction of volume. Something so easy that even I could do in the sink. It was not the terminal case Mr. Hyun described it to be! I'm no longer condemned to the bulbous helmet head he left me with. Yay!
