Lisa offers a variety of perms-digital, setting, magic, traditional, etc. Make sure you call and make an appointment. What you don't speak Korean? They also speak English. Don't worry. Most perms take about 3-4 hours so just keep that in mind. I got my mullet permed to perfection here, just the way I wanted it. Price was $170 for a setting perm. Completely worth it. However, I'm getting to the point that I may try to find another salon. Why?? For starters, the general attitude here is not good. Service is not a thing here, and unlike most salons, stylists (I've tried 3 different ones so far) are just not that personable. In fact, one of the three stylists I've tried here cancelled on me not once, but twice!! Obviously, I stopped booking with her. I also sense that they're not even that happy being there. I could be wrong, but it's the feeling that you get from these stylists. Still, the general hair cutting has been good...though, in my case, it's pretty basic. Just a straight line! I've always tipped 20%...but I'm starting to rethink this, given how the service is so minimal. On my last 2 sessions, the stylist barely said "Hi" to me. The place itself is pretty cool looking (in a grungy kinda way?), but I feel that the place may not be clean as it should be. I could be wrong here, but I've seen dust on their surface and arty structures. Also, I really don't like how they blow dry and comb your hair with their fingers. Not just a little bit while blow drying...but all throughout! It just feels a bit gross. I mean, who knows how clean their fingers are! I also hate the way they wash your hair. They actually have a separate girl that wash your hair (instead of the stylists)...and this girl is just not good! She has zero strength in her fingers...and I hate the way she even touches your hair! Possibly THE worst hair washing experience (experiences) I've ever had in ANY salon. I can't believe someone that's actually hired for this job (hair washing) does such a poor job! Despite liking the location and pricing, service and overall quality is always an issue. I may give it another try...but if my thoughts and feelings are confirmed once again on my next visit, I'll just find another salon in the area.

Located by a smoke shop and Jimmy Johns on Peachtree industrial, the shopping center is small but clean. I entered and there were two hair dressers along with two customers getting services done. I was greeted, which is always great! I sat down and waited maybe about 12-15 at most. I definitely didn't mind, since I didn't make an appointment. The salon is clean and although not fancy, everything I needed was insight. They have a tv in the waiting area, along with magazines and free water. Finally it was my turn. The lady spoke with very broken English, but she understood what service I requested and let me know that for me a blow out would be $30. My hair is medium length and pretty thick, so I didn't really argue but it kinda made me less excited. But anyways she proceeded to wash my hair. The shampoos are Korean, and they smell amazing. Next I sat at her chair and she started to ask me questions about my blow out, if I wanted waves or curls it would be extra. I just wanted a basic blow out. The blow dryer she used was very old and made a weird sound, but it did get the job done. It took about an hour and I did only get charged $30 like she stated. Just a tip, bring a photo for comparison, I'm sure that will help with the language barrier! All in all, four stars is my rating. I would be glad to come back! $30 isn't bad, salons charge anywhere from 45-70$ for blow outs; that being said it was still very cheap and looked amazing! The service was polite and had amazing results. If you want a blow out for an amazing price, give them a try!

However J Hair Salon is different. The employees are mainly Korean but I believe Jessie is fluent in english. She is an exceptional stylist and she is so so good at k-pop/asian hair styles, both men or women. The location is super lowkey, clean, and the staffs are friendly. Today (03/14/2024) I came in, they let me know that my scheduled date was actually on the 16th but they still made availability for me. 10/10, this is my go-to salon!
