It happened to be Saturday afternoon of Labor Day weekend. We were able to "limp" in to our RV spot at Hill AFB Fam Camp and get set up. That evening I discovered that you could describe your problems on Yelp and that there were businesses who would contact you about the problem. I did this and Jensen Auto Service got back to me immediately, but said that they wouldn't be able to get to it for about a week and a half. I thanked them for their time via message and looked elsewhere. On Tuesday morning I got a call from them saying that if it wasn't a complete transmission replacement that they would be able to get to it that week. I "limped" the truck over to their shop and even though I didn't use the service, they offered to chauffer me around to get transportation while they worked on my truck. By midmorning on Wednesday, they had the problem diagnosed, and had a prospectus in my hands. I put them to work immediately and I picked up the truck on Friday afternoon. The cost was FAR less than I was expecting and they made sure to communicate all of the ins and outs of the replacement parts. They went so far as to make certain that I knew to contact them about warranty issues if I had to take it to a certified NAPA dealer with problems during the warranty period. They did a stem to stern inspection and brought up several issues that I would need to take care of when I got back home. What could have been absolutely disastrous turned out to be nothing more than a blip on the radar of life. This is a repair business that I wish I had in my area so that I could make them the permanent caretaker of my vehicles. If you need help, this is the place to go. If it was possible to give them six or seven stars, I would do it in a heartbeat.

The loose dash caused the gear indicator not to be properly visible. The sloppy dash installation was unsightly. Too bad their work wasn't as good as their excuses. The owner's response errored in that all parts were there other than radio adaptions that were purchased from the store. Parts were in the ashtray alongside of the parts used in the reassembly. I was not offered any rework both times I brought it back. The car was shown in the disassembled status and estimates were based on that. If you were not able to reengineer, you should have stated that rather than say you could do the job. I was able to reassemble it and I'm am not a professional.

I contacted Blake Petersen of Clock and Instrument. After a period of calls and coordinating calendars, I was finally able to get this clock to him. Master clockmakers are not abundant. Meeting him was an absolute pleasure. He was kind and gentle with his explanation of what he does, how he came about tending clocks big and small and what he could do for my clock. I could tell how much he took pride in his work. He restored my clock, explained how to keep it running and encouraged me to call if there were more questions. His invoice was lower than I would have expected from a journeyman in these current times. I was absolutely enamored with his skill and kindness.
