I just moved here five months ago. Prior to my move, I was working out five days a week, eating super healthy, and weighed as much as I did when I first graduated from college. As I went through the stress of relocating, it didn't take long for me to fall into bad habits. I finally decided to look for another boot camp, since I was going to one regularly in San Diego. Lee-Ann's 2CW-HI Boot Camp was the first class I'd checked out, and I didn't need to look any further. It has everything I need: an amazing instructor, very friendly and encouraging workout buddies, varied exercises that keep workouts fresh and interesting all while whipping me into shape. I also LOVE that each day of the week is held in a different location. Right now, Mondays are beach workouts, either on the sand or grass. Wednesdays are at a park by the police station. Fridays are in a small studio. You have a choice between 6 AM and 6 PM classes on Wednesdays and Fridays. Mondays are 6 AM only. Lee-Ann is such an amazing instructor and very knowledgeable of fitness and healthy living. She'll help you with goal setting and will never make you feel bad or guilty. She understands that everyone has different goals, fitness levels, etc. As for pricing, you can pay for unlimited classes per month or purchase a bulk of classes (e.g. 24) and have a "punch card" that gets filled out every time you take a class. The latter works very well for me because my work schedule varies all of the time. I paid $275 for 24 classes with the Yelp deal and not including tax. That's about how much I was paying back in San Diego, and it's a lot cheaper compared to CrossFit and other gyms. I've always been conscientious about my health and fitness. In college, I went to regular aerobics classes and even sprung for an expensive gym membership. Going to the gym 3-5 days a week was all I thought I needed to do to be "in shape." But after a few years of this weekly routine I wasn't seeing any significant result of all my time and money. Then, after college I started doing in triathlons. Lee-Ann Watanabe is the BEST! My first contact with this boot camp was from a groupon that I purchased. The price was right and I needed to get in shape! So, I gathered some of my girlfriends and we all decided to do it together. I'm usually pretty apprehensive when it comes to personal trainers, gyms, and working out with other people. I'll admit it, I'm a plus-size girl, and I don't want to be judged by my huffing and puffing! But this boot camp was awesome! Lee-Ann is so non-judgmental, inspirational, and quite the motivator! She knows that everyone's on different skill levels and she crafts your workout just for you! Even in a group setting, she gives TONS of personal attention. She's always checking to make sure you're workout is perfect for you, not too strenuous that you would hurt yourself but pushing you to bring your physique to the next level. Lee-Ann taught me that boot camps are not only for those hardcore exercise freaks! Everyone can do it. Ha ha! If I can do it, trust me, anyone can!!! After such a great experience, I hired Lee-Ann for individual personal training sessions to get me ready for that white dress on my wedding day! I have known LeeAnn for years. We go way back to her days as a coach for indoor cycle class (she still teaches). I mostly train one on one with an occasional buddy to join me I've seen buddies come and go. LeeAnn keeps me accountable and I train twice a week. I've tried out many many exercise classes over the years and this is the only one that I've been able to stick with! As others have said, Lee-Ann changes it up every single class and that keeps me from getting bored. She's also the perfect balance of encouraging/motivating while still being nice and not making you feel like a loser, plus she's always happy to modify exercises for your fitness level and/or injuries. I'm 62 yrs. old, had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and a thyroid problem that makes it difficult to lose weight. Although I joined Lee-Ann's boot camp almost a year ago, I had many breaks due to injuries and family emergencies. But since maintaining a regular schedule for the last couple of months, my blood pressure is normal, my good cholesterol is unusually high, and my doc had to reduce my thyroid meds because now my thyroid is overactive. I started working out with 2CW in August 2010 and it was the best decision I've ever made. I do the MWF 6a-7a workouts and I don't think I can work out at night again. Well, sometimes I do, when I can't wake up, but I am definitely a morning workout person. Lee-Ann is such an awesome bootcamp instructor and friend. She's such a great motivator and always stays positive no matter what. What I love about Lee-Ann whenever she teaches is that she always makes you laugh, which makes her intense workouts a little more bearable. Other than that, you definitely want to kill her because her workouts are insane. Haha. And the best thing about Lee-Ann among other things was that she did our wedding bootcamp on the day of back in August 2011. Kudos to our wedding party - bridesmaids and groomsmen for waking up at 4:30 am that Saturday for our 5:30 am, hour long workout. Also extra credit goes out to ARIA Studios for filming it as well. :) Lee-Ann kicked our ass that morning, but that definitely kept our adrenaline going until midnight. I love Lee-Ann & her bootcamp! I've been going to 2CW since Feb 2011. I had tried various classes/gyms in the years prior, but nothing really "stuck". The best thing about Lee-Ann is that she helps you get the most out of your workout - no matter what your fitness condition. She'll show you how to modify, if needed, and encourage you. She was the first person to ever call me an athlete and for the first time, I felt like one. The classes are always a little different - never the same boring routine - and the other bootcampers are just a fabulous group of people. After taking a long break since the last boot camp. A friend told me about the Goupon boot camp deal, $30 for 10 classes. Not a bad deal but really, did I want to do an intense work out for an hour? Then Patrick hit me with "the classes are only for 30 minutes". I was sold! Once the our groupon was ready we let Leeann know right away we wanted to start and we did. The groupon boot camp is held at Kakaako, on tuesdays its on the first hill in front of the entrace and thursdays at the wall next to the water. (The thursday view is lovely.) There is a 6pm and 6:30pm express class. We opted for the 6:30 class for our first class on a tues and I was kind of nervous. But Leeann and her regulars were welcoming and we felt comfortable right away. I dont remember what exercises we did on the first day but it was a lot of sprints and lunges up and down the hill, at the end we did some core exercises. By the time I could think I can't wait till this class is over we were already doing a warm down and class was over. Our second class on thursday was of course by the water on the sidewalk and we used a medicine ball. Most of these exercises were muscle exercises and really worked my arms. (which i love, i need to get rid of thse flabby arms.) Before I could start hating the class, it was over. I really enjoy this book camp. Its in a good location, the people are nice and Leeann give a good all around work out. What inspires me about this boot camp is the instructor Leeann, after seeing her and reading her story I realized that not all boot camp instuctors are born stick thin with amazing abs. Leeann is a real women, with one great fitness class can initiate a lifetime of change. Although I am not athletic now and probably wont ever run 18 miles or do triathalons, perhaps one day I will be physically fit that is right for me. read more

I've been attending this bootcamp for months. My original goal was to shave off time from the 2010 marathon. Each class leaves me exhausted and challenged. I ended up finishing 15 minutes faster than the year before. I'll continue doing this because it's left me in better shape. If you're considering this, you should do it. read more

Best workout ever! I bought a groupon last summer for Lee-Ann's 2CW bootcamp and have been going since. I've been a gym rat my whole life and enjoy challenging workouts. I was surprised at how hard her class was for me given that I am in pretty good shape. Lee-Ann is a great instructor, motivates and challenges her students, but also knows how hard to push and when to offer less difficult ways of doing the workout. Saying I used to avoid exercising at all costs is an understatement and I always had a million and one excuses. Then I found 2CW and discovered a lifestyle I never would have imagined. At 65 I realized that I could not keeping ignoring the fact that I needed to get in better shape. I got introduced to Lee-Ann by a friend, that was over a year ago. Since then I look forward to our workouts early in the morning before work. I worked out after college for 8 years off and on. For some reason I just couldn't stay motivated. Probably because I hate gyms and don't like to think of my own workouts. My boyfriend and I joined 2CW bootcamp about 14 months ago and this is this first time I've worked out religiously. This is also the first time I've done early morning workouts (we do 6 am classes, there are pm classes too). I never thought I could get myself out of bed to work out, but now I'm happy to get it out of the way and I have so much energy afterwards, I don't even need my Starbucks (until 3 pm of course). I don't think we've ever had the same routine in 14 months, so it's never boring and always challenging. I feel stronger, have more energy and endurance, muscles are more toned, and can do WAY more pushups now. We still run and go to the gym on occasion, but I find I can't push myself nearly as hard as I do with Lee-Ann and it keeps workouts fun and new. I've taken classes elsewhere, but what makes Lee-Ann's bootcamp special is that she takes the time to work with each of us individually during class (there are all different levels in her class). She also sends me emails regarding my off-day workouts and nutrition interests (e.g. she developed my half marathon training schedule without me even asking her). 2CW-HI motivated, inspired, and pushed me to transform my body and look at fitness in a whole new way. I participated this bootcamp over the course of about 18 month. In this time, I've dropped over 15 lbs and reduced my body fat percentage by 10%. But most importantly, I've (seriously) loved every minute of it. Even on days when I am on the verge of puking my guts out, the instructors unique and dynamic workouts keep me looking forward to the next session. We are constantly moving (usually being yelled at to run, not just walk) from one exercise to the next, using different muscle groups and equipment, and intermittently switching to some form of cardio, just when I think I don't have anything left. This is not only incredible effective, but it also keeps me on my toes, rather than checking my watch every 10 minutes. The hour actually seems to go by pretty quickly, considering I'm usually drenched in sweat, completely out of breath, and/or shaking from muscle fatigue for about 50 of the 60 minutes. When I tell my friends I'm in bootcamp, the response is usually something along the lines of "what a drag"; the positive, yet authoritative (and sometimes hilariously funny) leadership at 2CW-HI make it anything but. read more

The group is always fun and supportive and we always get a great workout.
