I love this place! I've been coming here since elementary school, and I've never been disappointed. Whenever I'm in the area, I always try to make this one of my stops. Best pizza ever! The crust is perfect--slightly sweet, but not too much, and soft. The sauce is to die for. I'm not a big fan of a lot of cheese on my pizza, and I usually ask pizzerias to go light on the cheese (or I peel it off myself), but not here. I'm not sure what they do to their cheese, but the more the better, especially coupled with that sauce and thick pepperoni--this is what heaven must be like :) read more

This pizza is out of this world. I speak with the owners all the time, and they told me that they personally make sure that the dough has the right amount of yeast, flour, etc. They are very hands on, and as a result, the food here is better than any other Ledo's that I've been to. Try some of the other options here as well just for variety's sake- I'm talking about the ravioli, salad, and subs. Still the pizza is the best thing about Ledo's. I am so sad to be giving this rating to Ledo's pizza. I have LOVED this restaurant and loved the fact that they have gluten-free pizza but for the past 5 times that we have gone now - the pizza and service just has not been good. The last time I gave very specific instructions for the pizza. I asked for the sauce to cover the whole pizza (not extra sauce per say - just push it to the edges please and not leave it gooped in the middle) ... I also asked for it to be "well done, but not burned please". I explained that this was becoming a repeat problem that never used to be. I asked for the chicken sausage and the girl indicated that they no longer carried it. Disappointed, I asked when they discontinued it as I had been out of the country for almost 6 months and had been craving this. The girl responded "we haven't had that for over 2 years!" (now I had just had it at their restaurant the first week of December - so not true and I hate liars and she was being really flippant and rude. I asked for the manager/owner at that moment and they weren't available according to the girl I was speaking to - nor was anyone else. (that should have been my warning to cancel my whole order) I am a long time customer. The regular employees know me well. I got the price of my order and asked to pay over the phone as I was sending my daughter for the pickup and they refused. The girl again goes "well you can send your card with your daughter." .... um no - I don't give my card to anyone ... as well as the fact that my daughter was at Wheaton Mall and I was at home in Aspen Hill. I tried explaining this as well as the fact that my husband is ill and I would have to get his nurse to care for him if I had to come to pay. She still refused to let me speak to another employee or ask the owner and had a really snotty attitude. So, I got my husband's home health care nurse to stay with him. I got my wheelchair out and loaded in the van and I drove to the restaurant to make the payment. When I got there, I checked the pizzas first. Neither had sauce covering the pizza to the edges ... over 1 inch all the way around was left uncovered. (now this is a small size pizza too and because it's gluten-free, because of it's texture, you definitely want sauce on it to be able to eat the crust. The broccoli was CHARRED BLACK!!! It was inedible. I couldn't believe that they actually were trying to even serve it to a customer. ....Esp after my instructructions. I talked to one of the other girls. She said the owner was going to call me ...but he never did. When I got to the restaurant too the girl I spoke to on the phone was chewing gum and and again SO SO SO disrespectful to me. She has a lot to learn about customer service and respect to adults in general. Because of the treatment from this employee and no apology from the store on top of all the hoops I had to jump through to order the pizza and get there .... I am giving them 2nd star because I ordered take out as opposed to feasting the pizza right out of the oven, which is generous. I ordered the caprese salad which when I picked it up I thought they had given me the wrong salad. It was romaine lettuce with 2 skewers of tomatoes and mozzarella balls on top. The size of the pizza was great and looked great but the excitement ended there. The crust was more like a dessert pie crust then any type of pizza pie crust and the whole thing lacked flavor but had plenty of grease. This is a franchisee, not the original Ledo's location. The original is said to be better, but I've never eaten there, so I have no basis for comparison. If you're hungry, just head for this Ledo's and make up your mind what you want to eat on the way. It's in a foodie location: across the street from one good Chinese restaurant (Hollywood East), one door down from another (Good Fortune), half-a-block from a good Italian place (Christina's), half-a-block in the other direction from an IHOP and the new location of a good chicken place (El Pollo Rico). And there's a dozen other good restaurants within a mile of this Ledo's, which while nominally in Silver Spring is really in Wheaton. Okay, assuming you want pizza, you'll need to park either in the lot next door to Ledo's, or around the corner: the restaurant itself has only four places immediately in front, and I think all are reserved for people who are stopping for takeout. The restaurant has about six booths and a number of tables. Usually there are several families or groups of young people eating there. What is diffierent about Ledo's is that the pizzas are made in rectangles, rather than circles, and that the bread base has a distinctive texture. It is thin, and tastes more like a pie crust (American dessert-type pie) than the typical American pizza place pizza crust. I didn't love the it the first time I ate it, but it has grown on me over time, and now I always try to grab the corner pieces, which have the most edge-crust relative to their size. I also like their calzones, which are also rectangular in shape (what do you get when you fold a rectangle in half? another rectangle). The tomato sauce that comes with the calzone is wonderful; ask for extra, because there's not quite enough in the little container for a calzone (my wife gets very upset when I forget to ask for extra and end up stealing some of hers). If you don't want pizza, they also serve subs, salads, burgers, some Italian entrees, and a variety of appetizers. The service is usually good, and the prices are reasonable: a large cheese pizza runs $12, a veggie calzone $6.19 (according to the menu on my fridge, possibly out of date). read more

I live in California now and I miss Ledo's like you wouldn't believe. Doesn't matter which restaurant, I'm sold. Our favorite is the mushroom and pepperoni. I'm pretty sure when we were in the area we ate it weekly. (Also delicious with Cholula Chipotle sauce on top!) I love that it's 'local' and that the product has never disappointed. We came in late after a day of touristing and got a pizza, salad, and sodas. The salad was fresh and what you would expect from a Caesar. The pizza was delicious but I'll admit a little unappetizing when it came out with pools of grease on top. I feel like that was partially our fault though...we got pepperoni and sausage which obviously aren't the leanest choices around. The crust is soft and kind of flakey on the bottom but crispy on the edges. I haven't had a pizza quite like that but I'd order it again, maybe with some different toppings. I got a free soda for checking in on yelp. Service was great, the women working all checked on us and it was a super enjoyable last meal in D.C. before driving home. Ledo's pizza is legendary to those of us that grew up here. We would make the trip to Langley Park for those amazing square pies of flaky crust, smoking cheese & sweet sauce. It's a chain now & still as good, but a trip to the original might help you 'get it'. When you do, it's a pie you take pride in and crave often. Love this Ledo's its my neighborhood Ledo's. Great service. How good is the service, they'll take the pizza and wings out to your car while you hold your 1 year old son. The sauce is sweet and the crust is buttery flaky. Best enjoyed well done. Sold in squares. I always get pepperoni and extra cheese. This particular location can have trouble parking, so you can either button hook a light past it or turn early and sneak in at the metered lot. read more

I have been going to Ledos for 40 plus years, and granted it has been a little while since I have gotten pizza from them. BUT, it's bad enough when there is not enough sauce on the pie, but the sauce does not taste the way it used to. I am sorry for this local business, they lost me. Go back to the original sauce. Honestly, I love their pizza. The pricing is on point as well. The buttery crust is awesome. The sauce and cheese work well together.

I was actually impressed with their pizza. Not what I expected. We ordered pizza for my office, and when my colleagues told me Ledo's was their favorite. All I could think was oh great... these people have crappy taste in pizza. HOWEVER, I was proven wrong. This place was pretty good. I liked the thin and chewy crust - reminded me of a frozen pizza which I will admit is a guilty pleasure of mine at times. The sauce is sweet, and they were pretty generous with cheese. Prices are pretty decent, for the amount of pizza you get. Or could it be the small square slices that it comes in? Maybe you fill up faster? I have ordered both the pasta and salads here. I ordered a large catering order for my sons 1st birthday party. The food came on time, the order was right, and the manager Sam, was wonderful to work with. He worked with me on getting the right amount. I went on with an order that was much larger then what I needed and he told me that. The guests said the food was great too! I have been to Ledos a few times in my life and I don't usually go because I don't like square pizzas. it's a good place if you have a big group getting together that just wants to eat pizza. There is plenty of seating all around. Quick food and service. Price is pretty average. I think the good thing about this square pizza is the size and how it's portioned out. You feel like you're eating more with the square pizza. Haven't tried their pasta but I don't personally expect amazing pasta from a place known for their pizza. The pizza isn't spectacular and I'd say it is on par with anything you'll get in the area. There isn't much crust given that it is a square/rectangular pizza rather than a round one. I like crust so I don't enjoy this pizza as much. read more

I got an 8" modem blt. It was a perfect personal size pizza. The crust was thin and crispy and the pizza was good. It wasn't anything special but it was good. I also got the old bay wings and they looked kind of burnt. There wasn't much seasoning on it either. I asked for all flats and didn't get that. It also sucks that this location doesn't deliver. I called and ordered take out on a Friday evening about two weeks ago. The person taking our order was friendly, knowledgeable, and well-mannered. The parking lot is extremely small, but we were there around 3:30 so it was not busy. The inside of the restaurant is far bigger than the outside, and number of parking spots, would lead you to believe. We got to the restaurant a few minutes before the entire order was ready, and I made small talk with the person behind the front counter. He got all the fixings together for us, including plates and utensils, and put them in a bag. When our food was done, he checked everything with me to ensure I was satisfied with what they made. The cooks came out and I was also able to say thank you to them and be on my way. Our food was hot and delicious, and the entire order was correct! We will definitely be returning! read more

Love Ledo's pizza in general. Saw the excellent reviews for this location and went with my husband for an early dinner on Saturday. Excellent customer service as soon as we walk in the door. Ordered buffalo wings as the appetizers and they were really tatsty- plenty of sauce with a little crisp to the skin. We ordered our usual pizza which is pepperonin crispy bacon, sausage, and jalapenos. Pizza was so good we ate the whole thing; usually, we save some for later. read more

One of the better thin-crust pizzas in the area. The sauce is good enough to warrant selling it separately (and they do, thankfully). The toppings are plentiful, although not piled on so thick that you're going to feel weighed down after eating. No, it's not Chicago style deep dish. It's not intended to be. Plenty of other items on the menu if you're not in the mood for pizza. Be forewarned, parking can be difficult, especially if the place is filled with the frequent sports teams that congregate here for post-game celebrations. Ledo pizza in Wheaton has subs, lasagna, calzones, strombolis, flatbread wraps and salads. The food is great here compared to the other ledo's that I have visited. The pizza crust here is tastier than the others as well. Also, I have noticed that it is cleaner than the other'e in this area. The staff here is friendly also.
