What makes this restaurant nice to go to is the staff. Scott, the manager, is so forthcoming and the servers very professional. However, twice now we have ordered pizzas that missed ingredients. First my chicken and feta pizza had no feta and the last time we ordered the vegan pizza but with cheese and they did not add the cheese! I don't know if the kitchen is clueless because each time the servers were apologizing as they did put in the right order. I think Ledo pizza can be polarizing for many. If you are some stuck-up New Yorker demanding some semblance of a New York City pie, or something from Italy, and you are so closed minded as to not be willing to give something else a shot and evaluate it for what it is (as opposed to what it isn't), then best if you avoid Ledo. I have eaten pizza MANY times in all the so-called "pizza meccas" like NYC, New Haven, Chicago and Italy. Many good pies there! But I also like California style pizza, and Atlanta style pizza . . . and Ledo! Ledo pizza is its own thing. A square pie with a thin,almost "cracker-like" crust, cut into smallish square "slices" (more accurately, pieces). If it helps you to fairly evaluate it, don't call it a pizza - call it a tomato pie or something else. Ledo is not what I would like for pizza ALL the time, but when I am in the mood . . . I really enjoy it. The sauce is VERY flavorful - my daughter really likes it. In my experience, the folks at this particular Ledo are intelligent, competent, and friendly. Orders are handled properly and are ready in a very reasonable time frame as promised. The restaurant is tucked in a small building on Park Street just east of Maple Ave., along with a dance studio and a nail salon. There have been other restaurants in this building and at this location over the years, and I think it is tough because it is easy to miss them if you are driving on Park. I think they have been open for maybe(?) a year, and they keep the premises clean and inviting. The only reason I cannot give them five stars is that I think the prices are a little high (and Vienna's ridiculous restaurant tax does not help!). My family and I were excited to have a Ledo close by, since we're less than a mile away. We've been going to the Falls Church for several years. Gave this particular location four tries, and just never satisfied. They skimp on their toppings. It's just different and not as good as the Falls Church one. Bravo Ledo's!! We brought 50 swimmers and parents to Ledo's last Saturday practically unannounced and without pre-ordering. The manager explained that this was going to be a long process to serve everyone since we didn't follow the normal procedure. There was only one server assigned to the room since it is normally slower mid day on a Saturday. The server was excellent and the owner, chef and other wait staff pitched in and got us out in 1 hour...amazing!! On the magical evening of Saturday, August 18th I was walking along park street when I saw something that looked like heaven. So me being the very adventurous person I am, I went into what I like to call heaven (Ledo Pizza). I was greeted at heavens gate by an angel who then said to me "Hello how are you doing today?" from that moment on I never wanted to leave Ledo's. The angel then sat me down at a table and handed me a menu. I wanted to just kiss that waiter so freaking bad but I held back the kiss and ordered. I ended up ordering wings, mozzarella sticks, a garden salad, and a medium pizza with green peppers, anchovies, and pineapples. Let me tell you this the pizza was nothing short of if god were to put it together himself. I highly recommend you dip the chicken wings in the vinegar (tasted splendid). The mozzarella sticks had a distinct flavor tasting similar Italy's finest cheese. Pleasant, fresh, mouth watering, and astonishing would be the words I would use to describe the garden salad, it just had me frozen in shock. It was a rather breathtaking experience just by the appetizers and I didn't even stuff my rather large pie hole with the pizza yet. I saw the alluring waiter come to me with the pizza, I then noticed my pants were a little wet because I was very surprised by how appealing the pizza looked. My personal favorite toppings are what most people's are (green peppers, anchovies, and pineapple) so you can probably guess how stellar the pizza was. Before I knew it I was done with this fine feast and I didn't want to pay so I did the dash nawsayin. Overall if you have the means I highly recommend you stop by. Love their style of pizza! Always delicious! The staff is friendly. Dine-in service has been very good to 'above and beyond'. There are all types of pizza in the world. For those who don't know, Ledo's is a specialty style pizza. I am a transplant from NYC area who has traveled to Italy many times so I've tried, and appreciate, the best traditional style pizza. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Ledo's pizza is in a class of it's own...fresh ingredients, tomato sauce is luscious and the crust is light, flakey, crunchy goodness. I love it. The ONLY reason I tried it was due to several recommendations from family members in Maryland - especially those who've attended U Maryland. They are right. Pizza sauce is a all but pizza marinade, rather a sweet tomato junk. The dough reminds me of badly made thick crepes while boar sausage is just fatty meat like thing. The only thing we were able to enjoy that is the way it was suppose to be was the cheese on the pizza's, beer was as expected and tap water with ice was exactly that! A hidden jewel in Vienna. The relatively new (September 2016) Ledos in Vienna is a cozy restaurant that also does takeout. Their takeout is always prompt - I've never had to wait. He recommended me a Fall Harvest salad with grilled chicken and it was delightful. I added extra cranberries and extra grilled chicken, it was beyond amazing!! I had the wild boar pizza with the ham and pineapple for pickup. It was a dry sausage with liberal flacks of ham and pineapple. It was poorly sliced like it came in strips. Came in with son and wife sat down at 4 top and ordered. Place was pretty full. Saw a family come in with 5 young kids so we gave up our table so they could push two 4 tops together. Family of 7 goes to sit down and two people come in and said they had called ahead, server seats them at the now 8 top. I explain what happened, they did not care, two people sat there for 45 minutes and ordered nothing as they waited for rest of party while the family of 7 was forced to find somewhere else to eat. i'm a big fan of the Ledo Pizza. When I first walked in I noticed how nice the decor was compared to other Ledo Pizza I've been in. I seated my as the sign direct me to, and was promptly created at my table. I'm familiar with the Ledo menu so ordering was quick. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Salad less the bacon. They got it right, the ingredients were all fresh and very tasty. Other Ledo Pizzas I've been to use a mixture of iceberg, spinach and other greens. This location used no iceberg (white lettuce) only the good stuff. The staff was friendly and eager to please. The owner greets patrons at the tables. They are off to a great start. My waitress said they only been open for about 10 days. read more

I've gone to the Falls Church Ledo's several times and generally found the quality of the pizza to be good and consistent. I tried the Vienna location for the first time (ordered takeout) and the quality of the pizza was not nearly as good. I ordered a large pizza half cheese and half pepperoni. The half with cheese had too much sauce and not enough cheese (there were slices on the end that barely had any cheese). I also ordered 12 buffalo wings that were mediocre. Some of the wings tasted fresh and there were a few that did not taste fresh (a few had very dark colored meat that looked not fresh compared to normal wings and some of the wings had bones were cracked). This location needs to work on the quality of its pizza to be more consistent like the Falls Church location and there seems to be an issue with the freshness of some of its buffalo wings. Maybe I'll give this location another try in a few months. read more
