Yes I am a home cook but skills are more than average. We ordered the Meatballs, Sausage, and Salmon Ravioli small plates. Without knowing the owner when I passed him he made sure to say hello. We sat at the bar were Lee was our server. Let me start with Lee then I will get onto the plates. Lee was one of the most attentive bartender/servers I have met. He ranked right up there with many I know and those that know me that's extensive. He made excellent suggestions, told us all the pasta was homemade. Described the dishes on the regular menu. Simply delightful to talk to. He started to bring out our dining selections. First up was the fried calamari. I forgot to take a picture but the crunchiness first hit your bite but then the tenderness of the calamari took over. The dipping sauce had a pleasant bite to it. Excellent pairing. Never got to the bed of greens. He then served the salmon ravioli. It may be football season but Chef Canales hit it outta da park ! The dough was light, the filling was divine, and the sauce was velvety to the palate. Next came the meatballs over garlic mashed potatoes embedded in a tomato basil sauce. Cut them in three to enjoy the subtlety of sliding your fork through all the flavors! There is a thing in the restaurant business called the Wow factor! Right there, right there, right there. Finally the two slices pork sausage came out over garlic mashed times three with streaming balsamic glaze! Again I sliced the sausage in half to drag the fork across those flavors mixing them together before putting them to the palate test. When I go Oh Yeah you know it's an experience. The pasta is fresh made every morning! We are definitely going back as the Fettucine Bolognese will be my next selection ! Che buono Chef!

Dish was overwhelmed by the anchovies. The whole dish was fishy tasting and ruined. The miniature bread served is a sweet focaccia that has no place in a restaurant. No rosemary or flavor and the texture of crumbling corn bread. Keep it in the back and don't serve it. The napkin it was served in was soiled so it was even less appetizing.

It's a legit pizza place and everything I was expecting. We waited an acceptable amount of time and went in for our pizza. The car smelled so good on our 40 min drive back home. We got home and honestly no one waited to reheat the pizza. We all just dove into the enormous, cheesy, deliciousness we had been waiting so long for. I was not disappointed. There are signs everywhere: (1) the menu is on the wall; and (2) whining costs you $5.00 extra; and (3) you can work here but you have to be able to lift 60 pound bags of flour; and so on and so on. Family pictures are left, haphazardly on the counter and placed on the walls as if someone happened to be exiting the building during a fire alarm. It's kind of a mess. But, I tell you, the sandwiches I had there were some of the best Italian subs I have ever had. The meats were high quality. The add-ons were fresh, plentiful and beautifully balanced - just enough spice, just enough mayo, just enough oregano. The Italian dressing was excellent. The bun was substantial, strong enough to contain its ingredients and cushiony soft. Baked just that morning, said the owner, Angelina. Let's talk about Angelina. No nonsense. Get'er done. She is there for 1 reason - to make you the best food she can possibly put together. She's a little bit New York and a little bit of red neck Maryland, all balled up into the perfect SNL character. I heard about her difficulty hiring hard working people, I heard about her daughters, I heard about how tired she was today, I heard her say to call in my order next time because she doesn't like people waiting at the counter. The crust was PERFECT, with a nice crisp and the typical floury texture that I'm used to in a good thin crusted pizza. The sauce on the pizza might be a little saltier than a typical eater is used to, but I love salt so I was thrilled It was also a solid crust that didn't get soggy or floppy, which is often an issue I have with margherita pizzas, and the crunch of the crust was perfect. There were a number of desserts available, too, but I was full enough from my actual meal that I didn't even get to try one of them. I'll come back for those, because this was a great spot!
