The woman showed me to the sizes I needed and showed me a pair, but wasn't able to offer much help--when I mentioned I thought I'd check a bigger size she pointed out but said she needed to go clean up. I guess this is the difference between coming to a place like this and visiting a place like Carrara Children's Shoes, where there's a larger selection and considerably superior service. But I got a cute pair of New Balance shoes for the little one, and it was helpful that the saleswoman mentioned they have a wider toe box than a brand like Nike, which is better for little feet (and it also made me realize why I don't like Nike shoes). They aren't cheap--the shoes were $50--but we were in and out in about 10 minutes.

The selection was scarce. We asked a worker to size her feet but he said he only had a sizer for infants so he eyeballed her shoe size. He was a really nice guy, but seems like this location was very limited. The prices were too high for some of the shoes as well. Also, this location was very dark inside. A lot of the lights weren't on or working. Seems really run down. If I had to guess, I would say this location is close to closing their doors, but if not, then they really should.

I figured I would find some comfortable shoes for her since she's in her retirement years. I spoke to a woman named Britney who I found to be very passive aggressive and rude . I tried to explain to her that my mother had certain issues with her feet and I figured she would be helpful recommending an appropriate shoe since she should be a "shoe expert". She wasn't helpful, all I got was attitude and she pretty much told me that I should just bring my mother directly to the store. Mind you my mother just had foot surgery and is not able to come physically to the store at this time. I did not appreciate this type of response nor did I appreciate her scattered attention since she decided to be more attentive to some shoes on a cart. I would definitely have a better experience shopping online than dealing with an unprofessional individual who decides to focus on ripping off the tops of shoe boxes. The other sales associate was pretty helpful though. She was definitely more attentive and helpful than this woman I initially tried to get customer service from. She took the initiative to help me and was empathetic in my attempt to look for a comfortable pair of shoes .First time coming here and most likely the last. Not the best experience.

We stopped in after brunch and I was not dressed looking like a runner at all which I noticed some of the reviews mention. I was in shorts and birks but the employee was nice and answered my questions. I don't run long distance but do sprint intervals and am a personal trainer so I'm always interested in different shoe brands since clients ask me about footwear often. My friend found a pair of shoes she liked but they didn't have them in a color-way she wanted. The employee was helpful showing her what color options could be ordered and placed an order to be shipped to her home. I found a pair of Features crew socks which I can never find in store so I did buy 1 pair. The prices all seemed average compared to other running stores I've been to.

The moment I stepped in -- wearing Crocs and baggy shorts, minding my own business -- the staff seemed to collectively decide I wasn't worth the oxygen it would take to acknowledge me. Not a nod, not a "Hi," not even the bare‑minimum retail grunt. Just pure, practiced invisibility. Meanwhile, anyone who walked in looking like they'd just finished mile 27 of an ultramarathon was greeted instantly. They were ushered around, fitted, advised, practically celebrated. I watched people enter the store after me and get helped before me, repeatedly, as if the employees were running some unspoken triage system based solely on appearance. If you don't look like you're training for the Olympics, good luck -- you're background scenery. The semi‑open layout only makes the whole thing worse. You stand there, fully visible, watching staff weave around you with the kind of deliberate avoidance usually reserved for potholes and wet paint. It's a special kind of irritation -- being ignored so thoroughly that you start to wonder if you've slipped into another dimension. If you're an elite runner, or at least look like one, you'll probably be treated like royalty. If you're not, prepare to be a ghost in Crocs.

Famous Footwear Outlet is a family-friendly shoe store. This store emphasizes on "self-service,"…read moremeaning that you browse through each aisle, see what shoe you're interested, and go through the shoe boxes underneath the display to find the appropriate size. Of course, there are chairs for you to sit down, try on shoes, and make your decisions without bothering any sales associate even for one (1) minute! What a lovely concept to save all the manpower and to avoid unnecessary conflicts between sales associates fighting for sales (I've seen way too much in a commission-sale environment...and often times profanities are heard)! The shoes are priced reasonably, so you don't need to frown when you see the price tags. You can find a pair of flats or work-appropriate shoes at the clearance section for under $30. However, most shoes aren't going to be ultra-fashionable. Thus, if you're seeking for something luxury or high-end, my recommendation would be Cole Haan on the second floor by Michael Kors at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago. I'm personally not crazy about this store, but I like to pop in every once in awhile to see what's new. Famous Footwear Outlet is located on the first floor, nearby the food court. Will you be "famous" after purchasing a pair of two shoes here? I don't think so, but I'm certain that you don't need to be famous to afford these shoes in the store.

I always find the best shoes at cheap prices, and the workers are all friendly and personable. No one is up your butt like in some stores that I know asking if you are finding everything okay every 5 seconds. I love that about this place. I've also never had anyone following me. The nice thing is that if I need help, the workers are quick to help and will go above and beyond to answer my questions or get a product for me in the back if they have it. Sure, some things they sell here are expensive and are normal-priced, but that's the chance you take. Not every single thing is going to be a steal. They need to make money as a business, too. If you can't afford Nike's, don't buy them, but then don't complain about their prices either. I guarantee most products on the Nike website are more expensive than what this store sells them for.

I begin to explore seeking professional assistance since I believe I have an impulsive buying habit. The only option open to me is to return the shoes; shortly after completed, the app will generate a bar code and present a list of actual stores around me. I chose it due to the fact that it is close to where I work. I went there during the middle of my lunch break on a weekday and was astonished at how busy it was. this store doesn't have an area devoted to return items, so I had to stand in line with the rest of the people. I estimated that I stood in wait for around 15 minutes. Finally, when it was my turn, the cashier agent asked reasons I was returning, and I told why. She examined the shoes to ensure they hadn't been worn, scanned the bar code, and asked me to swipe the card that I paid with. The issue I didn't have a physical card with me, but because their device supports NFC, it can accept my digital credit card copy and it works perfectly. I didn't have time to tour the store because I needed to hurry back to work. I was irritated that I had to wait so long just to return one item. The only thing I can say is that the return process was made simple.
