Me and my girl!

Great beer! The venue was lovely. Situated on a corner from Main Street. Bear a lovely park and a great outside seating area. It was chilly but the sun was out, perfect beer day. I got the V IPA and it was really good. The staff were lively and gave great recommendations. The inside of the brewery was beautiful too. Open spaces with a TV and football on. Will be stopping here when I comeback to the neighborhood.

I like this brewery. Obviously it's dog and family friendly. We came on an evening that they had live music so that was a nice treat. Lots of cool beers to choose from. Service was good they let me try a sample before I ordered my beer of choice.

I have wanted to try this brewing for a long time but I have just now had a chance. Leashless Brewing serves Organic beers, that are rooted in Environmentally-conscious and sustainably-minded business practices. I could taste the difference between organic beers and regular beers. The ambiance has surfer vibes, a big screen to show surf videos, a surfboard, and a picture of Venture Pier on the wall. The business owner, John was nice. I tried a flight of 4 beers. I picked Sunrise, May Grey, V Town, and Mocktail. All beers were good but my favorite was Sunrise. It has nice fruity flavors and a taste of good hop. The music made me relaxed (they have Music on every Thursday and Sunday) Tuesday is Pint Night, $2 off all pints all day. Friday is Foamball Friday, $7 pints of Foamball all day. They have patio seating and are dog-friendly. There is a parking in front of the brewing but also you can park on the street.

One of the best in Ventura!!! I love that they are eco focused but it doesn't compromise flavor of beer. I tried the trifin, cest lavie, coconutz and brown beers. Loved them all! Coconutz is my favorite. It's very fruity but also your typical IPA (which I love). They have a wonderful outdoor/indoor space and their staff are so sweet. Pro tip: Thursdays they have live music! Already ready to come back.

Ambiance: Leashless exudes a cool surfer vibe. Surfing without a leash is great exercise. Come to Leashless for "Apres Surf". A big screen streams surf videos. The surfers are all wearing leashes. Haha. Photos on the wall depict real underwater scenes from the Channel Islands. Beer: The beer choices are plentiful. My favorites are IPAs. The Belgians actually were my favorites! Hazys, Double IPAs, and everything in between include award winners. Staff: John introduced his passion for organic sustainable everything. Leashless believes in saving the planet. John has surfed Ventura for 25 years. He loves Ventura and our beach environment. Service: The service included iles, patience, and efficiency. My server took as long as I needed to explain my flight choices. She actually stacked several flights simultaneously. There is no substitute for experience. Conclusion: I had a fun evening at Leashless Brewing.

Thirsty Thursday....

Leashless Brewery! Always got the goods, music, vibe. The beer is wonderful and the service is great. Love Mosa and Tri-Fin. Always have a great time when we come to Ventura. We can't NOT stop and get fills. Always worth the drive.

We were a group of 10 with 2 kids. We were first greeted by McKale, he showed us to our table. The atmosphere here was super friendly, warm, inviting, comfortable, cozy, and Lively. He asked if we had any questions & He answered them all beautifully! He asked us what we would like so we ordered : 2 potato leeks soup in both bowls , 2 chicken pot pies, Grilled Salmon, Ryan's Ribeye, Fish & Chips, Kids Mac & cheese, 1 French fries, Bangers Mash, Reuben Sandwich, Shepards pie. Everything was so terrifically delicious, mouthwatering, super savory, super authentic! McKale was on it, constantly asking us if we needed anything, constantly refilling our drinks for 10 people, all by himself! He is amazing!! McKale is super polite, very genuine, kind, very thoughtful, caring, very down to earth! McKale has this very positive upbeat energy about himself that really radiates! Everything was delicious, but my favorite was definitely the Tipperary Chips & Dip. To drink, I started with the Blackberry Bourbon cocktail. It wasn't overly fruity or sweet, making it a perfect complement to the bourbon. For my second drink, I ordered a classic Old Fashioned, which was made just right. Our server was attentive, friendly, and always made sure we had everything we needed. But if you go to dance, be advised the Boatyard wants people to come to eat and drink (not to dance). They have a dance floor that is extremely small and carpeted which has servers walking though it every few minutes. For those who come over to buy drinks and dance, they must sit at the bar (no tables). Which is OK, but if there are no seats at the bar (there are perhaps enough seats at the bar for 14 or 15 people) you are out of luck. You stand or leave. And they appear to prefer you leave. In addition, the tables are all the way to the band which allows for no dance floor and the tables and chairs can't be moved even an inch. A couple of the staff and the female manager told me personally that they do not want dancers at their restaurant. They are a restaurant, so everyone who comes there is expected to both eat and drink and preferably "not dance." So, I and my friends who like to dance have found other places to dance. Other places who welcome and enjoy having us. It's a free country, so we exercised our choice to go somewhere else that is fun and friendly. Don't get me wrong, as there were some very friendly staff at the Boatyard Pub who enjoyed having us and we tipped them very well. But the manager and several of her staff are unfriendly especially to dancers and many of their other patrons. So, go.tbere at your own risk. You have been warned warned.

No matter which Topa you walk into, you see familiar faces. There is a real sense of family there, and I would hate to lose that. The Thompson location specifically feels like home. When I lost someone very near and dear to me, Topa became a place where I could breathe again. On the worst days, walking through those doors made things feel just a little lighter. Sometimes it felt like I was holding my breath all day until I got there. There is a steady comfort in that space. Mama mia, that kind of place is rare. I have definitely "invested" ;) my fair share into the pool table and the pinball machine. Trivia nights with the awesome host, the food pop ups, Nicks Smash Burgers and Ramos Tacos are the best. Being introduced to new bands and almost always leaving a live show with a vinyl or CD by the end of their set. It truly is a community. Supporting local artists and seeing the same people show up for each other over and over again is part of what makes it special. And the beer is unreal. I was never much of a beer person, but a few years ago they pulled me in with Moo Bae then the Althlone Ranger, and then the 4 and 20. My current favorite is The Tux. Every time I go in, that is what I get. I loved when they had more dark beers too. Topa Topa opened the door for me into the craft beer world without ever feeling intimidating. Once you find a place where you feel appreciated and respected, where you feel known, you do not want to lose that. A huge part of that for me is seeing my regular beer tenders, Mike, Lea, Marie, and Zion. They are part of what makes walking through those doors feel like coming home. The Thompson location is that kind of place. Really messed up what you did. EDIT- This is nothing against the newer employees of Topa, but has everything to do with corporate. What were you thinking getting rid of 15% of your staff? The people that have helped build the foundation of your brand. The people that build the individual personalities of each taproom. The people that we have gotten to know and they've gotten to know us. Like I said before Topa is a family. I get that the craft beer scene is getting smaller but getting rid of family is so dumb. Your regulars have developed a relationship with these people. It's so disheartening to go now. When we go we aren't greeted by these friendly faces that know us. You'd think you'd focus more on your regulars you know the people that actually spend money here rather than the "next generation". Like I said, this has nothing to do with the new workers. They're nice. But the people we've developed relationships could NEVER be replaced. The lovers of topa topa do not like this. And I've already seen on Reddit people are saying they aren't going back.

Quintessential California cool…read more.. Coworkers and I stopped in while in town for business... ST was such a cool lil local watering hole. The place is a stones throw from the beach so it gets that nice Pacific Ocean breeze coming through the restaurant which keeps the large doors open... It reminded me a lot of Key West and the bars/restaurants you find on Duvall St. They were slammed for a Monday, the friendly staff fit us into the bar area. ST living up to its name has a great local tap beer selection and nice mixed menu... If you're looking for apps, salads, sandwiches, burgers, seafood, or lighter fare, ST has it all. This is one of those places that you could just sit at all night long, so keep that in mind when visiting - Great Cali beach town pub.

My husband ordered the $5 beer special and I ordered an $8 glass of Maggio wine. For our meals I ordered a cup of soup, a side salad, and a taco, and my husband ordered one of the hamburgers with fries. When our drinks arrived via another server, the wine pour looked quite light. My husband estimated it was around 4 ounces (I'm so sorry I didn't take a picture). When we politely asked Kayden if it was a normal pour, she insisted it looked "more than usual," stating they do 6-ounce pours, and then said "cheers" to me and quickly walked off. My husband looked at me and suggested I nurse it. The service pacing for our meal was also off. Another server dropped off my soup, side salad, and taco all at the same time, while my husband's burger arrived 5 minutes later. Having everything brought at once forced me to rush through hot soup while my salad grew soggy and my taco got cold. Credit where it's due...the food tasted great. The clam chowder had nice flavor and plenty of clams, the Caesar dressing was excellent (and I am very picky about Caesar dressing), and the taco was very tender, just cold by the time I ate it. After one quick check-in during our meal, Kayden vanished. We eventually had to go inside the restaurant to track her down just to get our check so we could leave, and my husband said she seemed annoyed that we came looking for it. Having worked in the service industry since I was 14 (I am now 66), I understand the business well. For most people, dining out is a luxury these days, and with rising menu prices and suggested tip prompts at 25%, service etiquette matters more than ever. Good food alone isn't enough when the service falls flat. We ended up tipping 15% instead of our usual generous amount. There are plenty of places with great food; these days, the difference is always in the service.
