I went to Leary's looking for carpeting for my bedrooms and hallway. I spent $2300 on carpet and installation.I paid extra to have my furniture moved, and one of the installers made a hole in my bedroom wall with my dresser. When I asked him if he would take something off the labor charge because of the accident he said "well, that would come out of my pocket!". I let it go and didn't tell the owner. Within a month, the carpet started flattening and showing signs of wear in the high traffic areas. I called and asked for a copy of the 10 year warranty, since I had been given no paperwork about it. The woman who answered sounded annoyed and told me to just use my reciept as proof in case I needed it for the manufacturer's warranty. When I pressed her for something in writing, she mailed out a computer print out and it said the carpet was purchased in october 2011,when I purchased it in october 2012. I didn't notice the error until last month when I had a realtor come and appraise my house. He thought the carpet looked at least 5 years old (!) and that buyers would want proof of the date bought and the warrant. Again, I called Learys and asked for correct warranty paperwork. The woman who answered again told me just to use my receipt as proof of purchase. I think it was a simple request that she could have handled correctly in 5 minutes, but she chose to argue with me instead, so here's my review! Poor quality, careless installer, bad customer service. Go to a big box carpet store. The end. read more
