Now that dig is not pretty it leaves ur yard a mess but Im thankful that my line runs in the back of my home bc I wouldve had a cow had that mess had to be left in my front yard. The house runs on a private well system. An iron filter system is a big water treatment component that was installed by C&J some time ago. Most recently, a new media tank was installed since the previous one was about 10 years old and likely nearing the end of its lifespan. The call was made and done a few days prior, scheduling was done easily, and the service/tank exchange was done with no issue. After the new media filter was in place, the technician, Jeff, was sure to run a cycle and stuck around for a few moments to ensure proper functioning. I highly warn those considering the services of this business to save themselves a nightmare and…read morenot use their services. In October of last year (2025) I asked for an estimate to fix a leak in the kitchen. I had no idea where the leak was coming from. Some rep named Bobby came over and went through an elaborate explanation of the "high-tech" methods they used to find a leak. So he had me sign a form that he stated was a simple explanation of what their services offered and that I would use their services if my insurance company agreed with the estimate. He then brought in a small device that he said was state-of-the-art in detecting leaks. He put on a pair of headphones and used a suction cup-type device to listen for a leak. Shortly, he stated he found the problem. It was a leak under the slab and he offered me to listen. I told him whatever, it sounded like a leak, but I'm no expert! He then gave me a vague invoice for $3000! I told him this was going to be submitted to an insurance company that required services to be thoroughly explained. He came back with another invoice that wasn't really that much better in explaining why the services were that much. I told him I would contact them when I got in touch with the insurance adjuster. He then stood up over me and stated he couldn't leave my home without collecting $550 for the services rendered in finding the leak. I told him he never mentioned those fees to me and he continued to state he couldn't leave until he got the money. Now imagine, someone in your living room threatening not to leave unless they get some money! It was really getting ready to get nasty until we got a supervisor on the phone who apparently advised him to leave and told me to contact them when I was ready to get the work done. Later I found out the leak was actually coming from a downstairs toilet with a leaking tank that was oozing under the flooring. So then I contacted Pristine the next day to cancel the contract per Indiana law. The company has been harassing me ever since still trying to say I owe them $550 for a service that was a fraudulent attempt to extort money for a service that wasn't even correct! This was the worst nightmare that I have ever encountered with a company. I shared it so you won't have to endure what I did. I believe that high-pressure tactics like this should be against the law!
