Absolutely love leaf & Grain I love a good wholesome salad that still tastes fresh and like I made it at home. This restaurant is that and so much more!! I used to like to get a salad next door from Skeeters but the quality of food from them just went way down. None of the salads are fresh and tomatoes and lettuce/kale are old by at least a week it seems and you pay 3x as much! But at leaf and grain it is so much fresher and the cost is so much less expensive than any other place I've been and to me that's definitely a bonus! $13 for the Alamo salad which I highly recommend! The dressings are to die for and pair so well with all of the ingredients. I have also created my own salads before and still the same great quality. I love this place for a quick, but healthy lunch. They gave a variety of bowls to pick from or you can build your own. I like that it's not just salads but you can add warm grains and other meats to give your salad more substance. My favorite was the Greek bowl with all the different textures, from the crunchiness in the cucumbers to the moistness in the juicy chicken. Very frustrated with the portion sizes of the toppings. They absolutely load up the lettuce/greens, and then are really skimpy on the toppings. I've come back three times thinking it'll be different because the flavors are tasty and it's a healthy option. They give you what looks like a 1/4 cup of each topping, so in your bowl you will have at most 6 small chunks of chicken, and usually they don't even fill up the cup their using to portion all the way. It's not worth the price at all and I will not be back. And I hear they throw away tons of chicken at the end of the night why don't they just give us more chicken. read more

Poor Customer Service & Managment, I average two trips a week at Leaf & Grain, average ticket $18 which is extremely high for small Salad bowl with 2-3 sides, in comparison to other Salad Bars near by. L&G frugal serving portions sales approach is very disappointing to say the least, I asked for shredded cheese, the Server hardly puts small portion in my salad, I commented it wasn't enough and need little bit more, she said I can't and it would be extra, so the would be $1.25 X 2 ($2.50) for cheese only , I expressed my dissatisfaction to server & she talked to her manager and neither one cared nor catered to my complaint, so much for customer service. I was shocked & walked away without eating there. There are many Salad places in area more customer oriented such as HS Green, Salata, Chop Shop.... etc. all serves fresh ingredients, generous portions & reasonable prices and very customer oriented . First visit. I had a good experience - it was quick and healthy. The menu seems to have good variety, I enjoyed my salad bowl. The shop itself is a bit unappealing, the floor looks industrial mess rather than industrial chic. But not a huge deal, I think it was an Einstein's Bagel not too long ago. The people behind the counter were efficient if not terribly friendly, though it was the lunch rush. My bowl was 75% kale and scant 1/3 cup of a few other things, I could have used more variety - some bites were only kale and dressing. I'd probably try another menu item if in the area. read more

This is the old location for Skeeters, which I had not realized they had closed. I'm on a health kick trying to eat better and Leaf & Grain definitely filled my food cravings. The set up is typical where you see the menu options above with the salads and mix-in garden vegetables, beans, cheese, protein, as well as tortilla chips and pita chips are displayed behind a clear case. I add "watermelon radishes" just because I like them a lot. If I had wanted to make mine vegetarian, I could have gotten black beans instead of the chicken. The very knowledgeable employee who was putting my Pollo Laredo salad together, asked me if I liked jalapeños, because the cilantro-Jalapeño dressing has a light kick to it. I really appreciated her checking with me first, but I like a little heat and this dressing was delicious! I asked for it on the side. I walked in and my first impression was blah another salad place. But this place is like the quiet librarian that unpins her hair and becomes a siren. First, I was so impressed with the care of staff (Thalia) when checking on my food allergy. She was thorough about it and really put me at ease. Then, I am so wildly impressed by this salad. I ordered the one with mint and pickled celery/beets (this is EVERYTHING, It's so good). They were out of falafel (which I don't like anyway), so Thalia suggested tofu and it was shockingly flavorful and so good. We are an asian family, so I side eye any tofu thats not Chinese but this was great!Every bite of this salad was really good and such a fun balance of texture and flavor. Brand new place immaculately clean and stylish. It's a make your own salad place with upscale and home made ingredients. I got the Oasis salad and man I couldn't get enough of that pickled radish! The salad dressing was tasty without being over powering. Kinda like a Fatoush salad. The hummus was homemade and dense. The falafel was baked thus a little dry, but I'm glad to have it not fried. Wow! The fresh baked bread was soft inside, crispy and crunchy out-lovely. So grateful for this place!! I came here for the first time this afternoon. I created my own bowl. The ingredients were super fresh and delicious. The avocado vinaigrette was to die for. I could've eaten it by the spoonful. It would be super helpful if they could post allergen information on their menu. One of my good friends is vegan and gluten-free. First visit today and they've been open about a week. They had enough staff working, seating inside and outside (with some fans running) and their salads sounded amazing. I got the good Greek and it was perfect. I like how they asked if you wanted to omit any ingredient and how much dressing to add. I will be back ! I absolutely love this place and wish I had one close to my new neighborhood. I have been here several times when I lived in West U. I've had the Good Greek, Herb Your Enthusiasm, and Immunity bowls. The Immunity Bowl is my favorite but they are all good. My boyfriend had The Alamo and liked it a lot as well. I love how they have so many great wholesome and healthy ingredients. I sometimes add in boiled eggs or avocado to my dishes if they don't already come with one. The chicken is fresh and not frozen. My favorite part is their unique home-made dressings. The ginger-turmeric dressing is my favorite and is very light and tasty!! I miss it already. Maybe they can jar their dressing for sale? Love this place! This is no ordinary salad place! We pick up from here at least a few times a week. The place is clean and the ingredients are always fresh. The staff and managers are friendly also. The place is well managed! This place makes it easy to eat healthy and still feel satisfied. My favorite is some version of the Alamo bowl but with the cilantro-jalapeño dressing instead of the dressing it comes with. I've been to Leaf and Grain a couple of times, and I finally figured I would leave a review. I love their bowls and now sandwiches! The avocado club was so good I love avocado. The bacon on it was the perfect crispyness too. It came out quickly! The Pollo Laredo has been my go-to salad recently. I'm a big fan of the tortilla chips and the rice, and the Laredo has both of those (and avocado!). The store itself is cute and not too noisy. It has great outdoor seating and the line moves very fast. Highly recommend! read more

Dropped in for dinner after work one night because my partner and I wanted something light and didn't want to cook. The salads were excellent, good sizes, not to big or too small. The fresh bread was also delicious. Only reason I'm doing four stars instead of five is because the drink section is rather limited. We were both fine with water or iced tea that night, but if you're looking for something caffeinated or sweeter than tea to go with your salad, there isn't much to choose from. Will definitely return. Dinner time was probably way less busy than lunch would be given the location, which meant there was plenty of space to sit and we were able to have a conversation without having to talk over others. read more
