Went there today for the first time to meet some friends. Have never been there before and was surprised at the friendly staff and the great menu. Being deaf it was wonderful that quite a few of the staff knew sign language which made my placing my order that much easier. Had a wonderful morning with my friends outside as the weather was perfect and the food was very good. Would go back again but I label this as "DEAF FRIENDY" Bob M. read more

Food was ok nothing special but later that night ended up with what had to be food poisoning.

First time at Leaf & Bean; it was packed. I wanted to try it because I was excited by so many breakfast food choices below $5! The online menu has $4.29 - $4.99, but the in-house menu is far different. $2 - $3 more, and breakfast is only served until 11:30 on weekends (10:30 on weekdays). So I had the chicken dumpling soup, which was very good, but the bowl, which cost more than the cup, was maybe one small ladle of soup. My husband had a sandwich, which he said was tasty, and looked it to me. We tried the peanut butter pie (yummy) and the tiramisu (DELICIOUS). All-in-all a pleasant experience, and above average food. Just a shame they baited me with a one-dollar-sign, when it's actually a two-dollar-sign. Will order coffee with breakfast, next time. read more

Phenomenal paninis and coffee! Freshly made, quick service, reasonably priced. I highly recommend checking this spot out.

Staff is so friendly here. I just moved to the area and went in to see what it was about. Inside was so cozy! Customers were so happy and no one waited more than 5 minutes. I ordered a gingerbread iced latte, a muffin and a Nutella puff Pastry. The price was very reasonable. The flavor of my drink was so good. The pastry's were so amazing I think I got one bite and my partner ate them all he was addicted! I'll be coming here a lot I can tell read more

Food & drinks are excellent, set up is disorganized but functional, will always return

The "Grandma's touch", refer to dropped bagel and given new one perfectly toasted with butter to cure that kid in me who is crying after losing something. My favorite place on the west side of Rochester to have coffee. read more

Setting aside chains like Starbucks, we don't really have too many nice cafes in the area. So, I am happy Leaf & Bean is here to fill that void. I like their coffee but I don't like it that they run out of blueberry muffins so quickly. I have tried some of their sandwiches and I cannot complain. Servers have always been nice and friendly, and prices are reasonable. Good ambiance and good WiFi. read more

We have loved this place for years and frequently order their salads and breakfast sandwiches. It's always busy, so be patient and kind to the staff who take great care of everyone. read more

Love the atmosphere. Staff is friendly. Drinks are good but would like to see the addition of green tea lattes! Food is also good!

Rude workers , said hi when I came in & bye when I left & got zero response - coffee too sweet- too bad place is clean & cozy inside . I won't return. read more

Clean establishment with friendly staff. Great wraps and paninis. I had the black and bleu which had roast beef, fresh greens, onions and bleu cheese on a nicely toasted panini. They also have a wide selection of sweets, many of which are cookie options. My sandwich was delicious and the peanut butter cup cookie I got was incredible. Recommend checking them out for a yummy lunch! read more

Food was awesome - clean, fresh, & yummy! Their "perfect pairs" are the perfect lunch. The focaccia that comes with their soup is the best I've ever had! I suggest the wraps & a cup of their Yukon Gold. Added bonus of extremely reasonable prices for food & beverages! read more

I love coming here. They always have reliably great sandwiches, wraps and drinks. Everyone's nice and there's always a place to sit.

The food was very good. The service was perfect. Love the atmosphere. It's my favorite coffee shop. Only complaint is it can be quite noisy with nothing that will absorb some of the noise read more

I go here about once or twice a week nearly every week. I love the atmosphere, the food is amazing, and the workers are always so kind. Cant say enough good things about Leaf & Bean! read more

This place rocks. Awesome drinks, awesome food, awesome baked goods. Free WiFi and multiple (including comfy) seating options so also a great place to get some work done. You order your food at one counter and your drinks/desserts at another so it can be a little confusing but now that you know hopefully it won't be! The Black & Bleu panini ($7.50) was amazing. I added roasted red peppers to mine and it was next level. Smoked bleu cheese spread and herbed foccacia? Yes please! My only qualms were that it had some romaine (maybe even iceberg) lettuce with the spring mix, which was a little strange (too crunchy and didn't toast well), and it didn't come with any side (except two small pickle slices and a container of mustard vinaigrette that left my friend and I asking, "why?" - neither of us used that on our sandwiches because we definitely didn't need to). At $7.50 it's understandable that it doesn't come with a side but having the option would be nice, especially if you were eating this for dinner (just filling enough for lunch). It's surprising they only have to-go cups, no mugs if you're staying in, so I was glad they were at least okay filling my travel mug. My London Fog was incredible (their Earl Grey has vanilla and lavender)! Can't remember how much it was but definitely worth it. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her seasonal chai as well. We are sad they don't sell their tea in loose leaf (only in bags) and that it's $9 for 12 bags so we'll probably buy from their supplier instead. Overall, $11-something with tax for a delicious lunch was fine by me! read more

Leaf & Bean - Black & Bleu ($7.50) - delicious!! - Cafes Near Me - Rochester, New York

A great cafe for just about anything - grab and go coffee + snack, chilling with a book, studying, catching up with friends. There's a very neutral atmosphere here, with a main dining area decorated in vintage posters of jazz and Motown greats. The variety of paninis, sandwiches, salads, baked goods is on par with Spot and Java's downtown and are above-average. Try the raspberry chai. It's absolutely delicious and I can't say I've ever had a better one! Because of its unique 'city-like' style and quality products, it unfortunately can get crowded and loud. And it's not really an artsy coffeehouse. It IS in a strip mall, after all. It's a nice cafe with normal-looking people, families, college kids and high schoolers. There's no angst or much of a tortured artist feel ;). It's probably the type of place where I would have hung out in high school. So if you're looking for a really nice cafe to grab a quick bite to eat or to relax in Chili, this place is perfect! read more

Great coffee and food and wonderful people they have working there. They have a nice outdoor atea too.

I always enjoy coming here. It's very comfy on the inside and the baristas are extremely nice. Yes, as are many coffee shops, it's a little pricey but not outrageous. Today I kept it simple, coffee and cocoa with a egg an cheese on a sesame bagel breakfast sandwich. $3.50 for sandwich. Sit back in a comfy single seat chair and take a breath and unwind your mind for a minute or two. Quality service and atmosphere gives this place a high rating. About the only negative is that it's so nice, it's popular to the point of being crowded. Crazy huh. read more

A friend introduced me to Leaf & Bean recently, and I cannot get enough. I wish it was a little closer to me, but it's probably good that it isn't because I would be here every day. I'm not generally a coffee person, but there are plenty of options for me even with that being the case. My favorites: black tea lemonade, matcha latte, dirty chai. This is the perfect place to spend a few hours. You'll definitely find something good. In addition to drinks, they also have a pretty large menu of sandwiches, soups, and desserts. That dessert case calls my name every time, I have to work very hard not to give in. Everything I've tried has been delicious. The sandwiches come with some kind of mustard sauce, SO GOOD. If you love the coffee, they also sell bags in the store (whole bean or ground if you prefer). The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is perfect for chatting with friends or getting some work done (indoor or outdoor seating), and the prices are reasonable. I keep coming back because it's truly an enjoyable experience even if a bit of a drive. read more

Chili's center Hot Spot! Locals speak of this place as "Leaf, L&B or The Bean". If you're a townie you've been to Leaf more times than you can count. It's a family owned business that takes great care of their customers and employees. I've been coming here since I was little and eventually worked there for about a year. Even during the time I worked there I never got sick of the atmosphere, drinks, phenomenal food and the care and love the employees and owners have for the locals. It doesn't have that overwhelming hipster vibe that makes many feel inadequate that majority of coffee places do. The employees are down to earth with the goal to make your leaf experience a great one. The atmosphere screams home. I recommend this place to anyone visiting the Rochester area! read more

Been here a few times, workers are always extremely pleasant. They are so kind, and always willing to make any changes to your order that you would like! They have a lot of food options, sweets, and coffees! The atmosphere is very cute, if you go on a nice day eat outside! There is really pretty artwork on the brick walls and the set up is adorable. I got the stover on marble rye bread and it was amazing!! I highly recommend it. read more

Leaf and Bean is my go-to for weekend lunches and coffee with friends. I'm so thankful we have this on the west side! Their food is fabulous! I haven't had anything I didn't like. I love getting a panini/soup or salad combo. They have huge salad portions. The "half" salad is large enough for me to eat alone. I recommend the cranberry blue salad (the Concord grape dressing is to die for. They also sell it). The Ashton or Loredo sandwiches are my favorite. The dipping sauces are delicious. Even the friggin pickles they give you are great (also available for purchase there). Drinks are wonderful. If you want something different and are a tea/chai lover try the London fog (Earl grey, steamed milk, vanilla flavor). Okay lastly, their private baker. UMMMM this lady needs her own place (maybe she does). the French macarons are better than ANYWHERE in Rochester. They are chewy, and not filled with air pockets like a lot of Rochester bakeries. The flavors rotate. So far the pistachio and raspberry are my favorites. Staff is always helpful, kind and speedy. Love this place. If it ever closes I will be distraught. read more

I have been here a few times and I am never disappointed. This is a nice small quiet place but it's a bit hidden in a shopping center. The atmosphere is like any other coffee shop, nice colored walls, warm neutral colors. It's a bit more intimate than somewhere like Spot. I enjoy the decoration on the walls, different vintage pictures of products of movies. I have yet to try any of the food there, but it always smells yummy. Today when I went, my friend got a soup sandwich and salad. He had said that the soup was really incredible. He had gotten the roasted red pepper gouda soup, it looked and smelled really good. He really enjoyed his sandwich and salad also, but he did go on a few times about the soup haha. I had gotten a few different coffee's there, including their "blendarita's" (frappuccino). I am not a coffee fan so I tend to get the yummy sweet coffee drinks. So far, I have yet to find one I dont like. Every month they have special flavors, it's a bit more popular in the winter, spices for fall, mint for winter, etc. I knew they had this particular drink in February called, French Kiss, but I ordered it today and they made it no problem. Overall, I like this place. I can get work done and not be distracted, I enjoy the music they play, I like the coffee drinks, and free wifi :) read more

Love this place! Hidden in the shopping strip, but worth the trip. The dirty iced chai is my absolute favorite (I'm taking life altering goodness) They have a great selection of sandwiches, coffee and baked goods!! Lots of seating, but it's usually a full house. If there's one thing that never changes, it's my love of Leaf & Bean. A bright spot of Chili, it consistently offers delicious faire with caring service. There is a wide selection of hot and cold beverages, including many that are favorites of non-coffee drinkers. Over the years they have built up their food menu to include a plethora of breakfast sandwiches, paninis, wraps, salads and soups (I highly recommend the Beef On Weck - café food doesn't get much better). They also have a sizable selection of desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth. Come for the atmosphere, the community or for one of the best indie café experiences in the Rochester area. It's one of my favorite spots to grab a cup of coffee and relax. read more

Great small cafe with paintings posted around the building. Good service, and the wraps are delicious.

Leaf & Bean is a small coffee shop I've been overlooking for years. It's conveniently located next to my new barber shop. However, this coffee shop offers a chill vibe, delicious fresh food, and quality baked goods! I had the Rio panini which was delicious, and very reasonably priced.
