Staff is so friendly here. I just moved to the area and went in to see what it was about. Inside was so cozy! Customers were so happy and no one waited more than 5 minutes. I ordered a gingerbread iced latte, a muffin and a Nutella puff Pastry. The price was very reasonable. The flavor of my drink was so good. This place rocks. Awesome drinks, awesome food, awesome baked goods. Free WiFi and multiple (including comfy) seating options so also a great place to get some work done. You order your food at one counter and your drinks/desserts at another so it can be a little confusing but now that you know hopefully it won't be! The Black & Bleu panini ($7.50) was amazing. I added roasted red peppers to mine and it was next level. Smoked bleu cheese spread and herbed foccacia? Yes please! My only qualms were that it had some romaine (maybe even iceberg) lettuce with the spring mix, which was a little strange (too crunchy and didn't toast well), and it didn't come with any side (except two small pickle slices and a container of mustard vinaigrette that left my friend and I asking, "why?" - neither of us used that on our sandwiches because we definitely didn't need to). At $7.50 it's understandable that it doesn't come with a side but having the option would be nice, especially if you were eating this for dinner (just filling enough for lunch). It's surprising they only have to-go cups, no mugs if you're staying in, so I was glad they were at least okay filling my travel mug. My London Fog was incredible (their Earl Grey has vanilla and lavender)! Can't remember how much it was but definitely worth it. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her seasonal chai as well. We are sad they don't sell their tea in loose leaf (only in bags) and that it's $9 for 12 bags so we'll probably buy from their supplier instead. A friend introduced me to Leaf & Bean recently, and I cannot get enough. I wish it was a little closer to me, but it's probably good that it isn't because I would be here every day. I'm not generally a coffee person, but there are plenty of options for me even with that being the case. My favorites: black tea lemonade, matcha latte, dirty chai. This is the perfect place to spend a few hours. You'll definitely find something good. In addition to drinks, they also have a pretty large menu of sandwiches, soups, and desserts. That dessert case calls my name every time, I have to work very hard not to give in. Everything I've tried has been delicious. The sandwiches come with some kind of mustard sauce, SO GOOD. If you love the coffee, they also sell bags in the store (whole bean or ground if you prefer). The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is perfect for chatting with friends or getting some work done (indoor or outdoor seating), and the prices are reasonable. A great cafe for just about anything - grab and go coffee + snack, chilling with a book, studying, catching up with friends. There's a very neutral atmosphere here, with a main dining area decorated in vintage posters of jazz and Motown greats. The variety of paninis, sandwiches, salads, baked goods is on par with Spot and Java's downtown and are above-average. Try the raspberry chai. It's absolutely delicious and I can't say I've ever had a better one! Because of its unique 'city-like' style and quality products, it unfortunately can get crowded and loud. And it's not really an artsy coffeehouse. It IS in a strip mall, after all. It's a nice cafe with normal-looking people, families, college kids and high schoolers. There's no angst or much of a tortured artist feel ;). It's probably the type of place where I would have hung out in high school. Leaf and Bean is my go-to for weekend lunches and coffee with friends. I'm so thankful we have this on the west side! Their food is fabulous! I haven't had anything I didn't like. I love getting a panini/soup or salad combo. They have huge salad portions. The "half" salad is large enough for me to eat alone. I recommend the cranberry blue salad (the Concord grape dressing is to die for. They also sell it). The Ashton or Loredo sandwiches are my favorite. The dipping sauces are delicious. Even the friggin pickles they give you are great (also available for purchase there). Drinks are wonderful. If you want something different and are a tea/chai lover try the London fog (Earl grey, steamed milk, vanilla flavor). Okay lastly, their private baker. UMMMM this lady needs her own place (maybe she does). the French macarons are better than ANYWHERE in Rochester. They are chewy, and not filled with air pockets like a lot of Rochester bakeries. I always enjoy coming here. It's very comfy on the inside and the baristas are extremely nice. Yes, as are many coffee shops, it's a little pricey but not outrageous. Today I kept it simple, coffee and cocoa with a egg an cheese on a sesame bagel breakfast sandwich. $3.50 for sandwich. Sit back in a comfy single seat chair and take a breath and unwind your mind for a minute or two. Quality service and atmosphere gives this place a high rating. Chili's center Hot Spot! Locals speak of this place as "Leaf, L&B or The Bean". If you're a townie you've been to Leaf more times than you can count. It's a family owned business that takes great care of their customers and employees. I've been coming here since I was little and eventually worked there for about a year. Even during the time I worked there I never got sick of the atmosphere, drinks, phenomenal food and the care and love the employees and owners have for the locals. It doesn't have that overwhelming hipster vibe that makes many feel inadequate that majority of coffee places do. The employees are down to earth with the goal to make your leaf experience a great one. The atmosphere screams home. I recommend this place to anyone visiting the Rochester area! read more

I have been here a few times and I am never disappointed. This is a nice small quiet place but it's a bit hidden in a shopping center. The atmosphere is like any other coffee shop, nice colored walls, warm neutral colors. It's a bit more intimate than somewhere like Spot. I enjoy the decoration on the walls, different vintage pictures of products of movies. I have yet to try any of the food there, but it always smells yummy. Today when I went, my friend got a soup sandwich and salad. He had said that the soup was really incredible. He had gotten the roasted red pepper gouda soup, it looked and smelled really good. He really enjoyed his sandwich and salad also, but he did go on a few times about the soup haha. I had gotten a few different coffee's there, including their "blendarita's" (frappuccino). I am not a coffee fan so I tend to get the yummy sweet coffee drinks. So far, I have yet to find one I dont like. Every month they have special flavors, it's a bit more popular in the winter, spices for fall, mint for winter, etc. I knew they had this particular drink in February called, French Kiss, but I ordered it today and they made it no problem.
