Wonderful service, modern decor, Asian inspired French fare. We enjoyed the fish, the wontons, ravioli, and eggs, very good espresso too, wish tried dessert but next time!

This was the first place we ate in Paris and oh my it set the bar pretty high. I had quite a lot of "firsts" here. The standout was the Veal brain. It was paired with a super creamy gojuchang sauce and it had the most wild consistency. Similar to flan lol! The wontons we started with were so good and were paired with a spicy Thai honey and we wish we ordered 2. We also started out with clams which I have fully decided I am not a fan of. Don't get me wrong the flavours they paired them with were nice but clams just are not for me. If you like clams though definitely try these out. Another dish I've never had was cuttlefish and it was very enjoyable. I didn't realise it would be served cold but nonetheless it was excellent. The last "first" I had was what they call sweetbread. Which is basically a young lamb thymus glands. The flavour pairing with these were a little underwhelming but that's probably because all the other dishes we had were so strong. For desert I had a chocolate tart that was definitely too much for one person but I persevered and took it down haha. The sorbet was also very very good. This was a fantastic place with great service and an English friendly staff that was more than happy to help with wine pairings and going through the menu with you. Merci beaucoup Le Servan!

Lovely place. Very busy, staff seemed a bit overwhelmed but still provided good service. Food and drinks were amazing. Great combinations of flavors and textures. Portion sizes were ideal for two of us to be able to try many different things. We left feeling satisfied but not stuffed. A wonderful evening.

Wonton de boudin noire sweet chili sauce

I attended an event years ago where head chef Tatiana Leyva cooked. I was enthralled with the dish so I made it a point to visit Le Servan when I got a chance. I was able to attend for lunch and found the food pretty good. Wasn't quite up to high expectations but lunch was a pared down menu offering ris de veau, tuna tartar, and a few other dishes. The standout was the boudin noire wonton which was deep fried and paired with a sweet and sour sauce. The space itself was small but cute. I'll have to go back for dinner to better able judge the food.

For the prices I think there are better options for this style of food in paris. However if you go, the clams are great and the service was very nice!

Such an excellent place to be able to eat! All dishes were excellent. The wine was excellent, service was so kind and amazing- would highly recommend to go here even if you are in Paris for only one night. :)

The asian fusion food is good. The standout dish was the trout to us. It is an elevated poke bow! We do love it. Nice ambience and helpful waiters. The music is not too loud. Having had the best Chinese food for years in Hong Kong myself, I am a bit spoiled, so I am only leaving four stars. The artichoke is too cold and not unique enough. The wonton is good. If there is a way to rely less on some seriously fatty beef inside, it would be great. The dumpling has too much meat. I honestly prefer the typical Sichuan red oil dumplings. The pork belly... is good but I gotta say, the very best in Hong Kong can do an even better job. I think a suckling pig is needed.

I found out about Le Servan from Action Bronson's Eater video on YouTube where he proclaimed to have a "religious experience" (LOL) at Le Servan. I must say, that the food at Le Servan was very good and worth every recommendation on foodie blogs, YouTube videos, and even the Michelin guide. Compared to different restaurants in Paris, Le Servan was not expensive by any standards for the quality of food that you get. When you come to Le Servan you will be introduced to the depth of French cuisine and flavors through every well thought out dish that is both authentic and umami-ish. It is by no surprise that David Chang speaks highly is Le Servan. They also have a great natural wine selection I would recommend making recommendations beforehand, it is a relatively small dining area that fills up quickly. Try to call or email them, info is on their website. Memorable experience! - Ansel Ponce Diama

You see this name everywhere. Chefs from around the world notes Le Servan on their social media or in interviews. David Chang has said Le servan is his favorite restaurant on two AMAs, Eric Wareheim's posted salivating photos from Le servan. So yeah, rationally, I've wanted to go. I loved the decor here. Most French restaurants I've been to don't have a modern, sleek look. Le servan does. The restaurant is surrounded by large windows and there are nice plant additives to the restaurant. Though they do not have an English menu, the servers are really helpful. It's a tapas spot and everything they make is good. They have a healthy selection of vegetables, a few poultry dishes and a selection of desserts. We ordered a number of veggies and fish items. Most notable dish was white asparagus over squid ink purée. Delicious, especially since it's peak asparagus season. Their snails were unique too - served cold and hardly with sauce, fresh. It seems like the menu changes seasonally and you can't go wrong with any choices here. I would definitely go back on my next trip.

Another place in Charonne with some real gems. The service is super friendly - chefs come and serve you, ask you questions about the food, make recommendations and really engage with you. Mushrooms with the sabayon really stood out among the four dishes we sampled. The umami injected into the sabayon was one of a kind. This is the star dish and I hope they keep this dish as a permanent member of the menu. The tuna belly with peppers and fromage blanc on brioche was next. The belly cut with the peppers and cheese was a classic "x cuts y" combination, although the point of the dish was mainly to enjoy the texture of the belly. The crab and corn with coriander is a great dish as well although one could argue that the coriander might have slightly taken over. I'd go back to try some of the mains easily. It's a great Saturday night haunt to talk over food over a glass of some of the superb wines they stock.

My partner and I dined at Le Servan on 10/15/18. What I can say is the flavors are honest and original, the best restaurant meal I've had in a very long time. The service was excellent, our waiter took the time to explain the menu to us and took very good care of us. I'm glad we ordered from every section because each succeeding course complemented the last beautifully, and dessert completed the meal nicely. We got to meet Chef Tatiana Levha just before we left and she was gracious and humble. She and sister Katia are definitely going places and I'm glad I was able to experience their cooking before I wouldn't be able to afford it. I highly recommend Le Servan!

We had a good dinner here few nights ago. Overall Le Servan was hot & cold for me, literally. While the food was outstanding it was actually cold though sometimes. Possibly being held too long before it came to our table. Even though the temperature wasn't exactly what I prefer the flavors were still there & it was delicious. We ordered the Thai moules, stood out the most for us. Having some crusty bread to soak up all the sauce made it even better. The servers were very polite and helpful, not always the case in France. Honestly if they just served their food at hot temp I would've given them 4 maybe 5 stars. I'll give it a shot again, hopefully our experience with the temp was the exception & not the rule there.

Let's take a little step back to May to report on an interesting 'neo-bistro' in the 11th, right around the corner from the last AirBNB we stayed in Paris near Bastille. I am a sucker for NYT food reviews, and I'd actually read about this restaurant and tried to get in during our previous stint in Paris, but time was too tight. Among the ideas that intrigued me: a Manila-born Parisian chef who'd spent time at L'Arpège (which I haven't tried) and L'Astrance (site of one of my most memorable birthday dinners...). Also, the reviews are uniformly great, and the prices were cited as reasonable. It's in a cool neighbourhood, on a backstreet. From the outside, Le Servan looks quite humble. But there is something airy and graceful about it once you get inside. I guess, to my surprise, I found the food a little too challenging. I'd ordered whelks and my better half said, 'Aren't they kind of like slugs or snails?'. 'No...' I said. 'They're delicate sea creatures. I don't think they're the same'. But really, they tasted like slugs or snails from the sea, very good slugs or snails, I'm sure, but I found them a little too... um.... visceral. Similarly, the appetizer with raw oysters and green papaya was a bit slimy. The meat courses were more to our liking. The lacquered quail, pork belly, duck. What's not to like about this? In all, it was tasty and interesting, but I think I'd set my expectations too high with all those reviews. Better to have arrived without foreknowledge and been surprised!

Ambience is French countryside rustic - Didn't have to dress up, didn't have to wait for choreographed service or any of the nonsense that the low reviews seem to crave. Just a very good restaurant. Some of the pairings were super interesting and really transformed the dish. However, on the day of our service, some dishes (such as the grilled endive) was a bit of a let down. There was a wine that is intentionally oxidated, very daring pairing but I was not a fan. Would like to come back and give it one more try!

Some highlights: The amuse bouche course was incredible end-to-end, but what really stood out for me was a blue masa shell holding mussel, sauce, and microgreens/herbs/flowers. The mix of the different herbs, the savory salinity of the mussel, and the sauces was wonderfully complex, yet also harmonious. The poached sea trout with pumpkin and horseradish ice cream was very satisfying. The mix of poached trout and horseradish cream was very familiar, yet the twist of making the horseradish a wholly different temperature and texture was really surprising and innovative. The monkfish in adobo was another extraordinary dish. I have only had monkfish liver before, but the way they were able to perfectly cook the monkfish gave it a texture and flavor reminiscent of lobster. With the spice of the adobo, it was a really well balanced dish. Additionally, all of the wines that we tried were also notable and delicious. We decided to each order a glass of sparkling wine and a few small plates to share. The wine list was long while the food menu was quite short, but everything we ordered was delicious. Each dish provided a twist on classic appetizers - the gnocchi was served with an inventive "white cheddar foam," and the maple bacon biscuits struck the perfect balance of sweet and salty. We ended up lingering over our wine and enjoying the cozy ambiance longer than expected - a perfect way to spend a summer evening in Paris.
