The Short Version:
Cute bakery that's hidden in plain sight. Pretty interior but I found the croissant just ok.
The Long Version:
So the full name of this place (Le Meilleur Bolangerie Patisserie Traiteur) translates to "The Best Bakery, Pastry Shop Caterer" lol. I didn't quite think it lived up to it's name.
I got a croissant ($2.20) and a cheese bouchée, which was a tiny cheese pastry that looked like a miniature Fatayer Jebneh ($1.50).
The bouchée was very dry and tasted stale to me. The croissant was better. It was soft and buttery but lacked the flakiness and crispiness of the initial bite. This would have been expected had I bought end-of-the-day discounted items, but I paid full price and it was midday. Granted full price was pretty affordable, but I was expecting fresher items.
Service was pleasant and the place is cute inside. There's no obvious signage outside, so it's a bit hidden, although in plain sight. It's in the YUL-Phase 2 building. They had really good looking tarts, so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. I'd be agreeable to return to try out other items.
